About this vlog:
----------------------------
In this vlog from Lucknow to Nainital, we enjoy the road trip adventure of Hyundai Creta car drive. We started at 9:15 am on the day of the journey and we entered the National Highway from Faizabad Road, it took a drive of 16 kms and 30 minutes. Since there was no traffic in the morning, we quickly reached the Sitapur Highway. By Highway to Sitapur is 73 kms. The road is in good condition and we can drive at a constant speed of 80 per hour. We covered this distance in about 1 hour 15 minutes. The drive was running smoothly. Toll fee of Rs.100 (50+50) has been paid. We reached Sitapur Bareilly bypass at 10:45 am.Driving from Sitapur to Pilibhit is a completely different story. This road is single lane but road condition is very smooth like butter feelling. One can see vehicles coming from one side in opposite directions. Also, Pilibhit has an under construction flyover and hence there are a lot of changes on the road. Because of which both sides of the road are filled with big lorries and we get huge traffic jams. Driving on this road is definitely tiring and we could not cross the 40 kmph speed on pilibhit by pass on this road. We covered the distance from Pilibhit to Kathgodam in three hours and reached Kathgodam at around 3:30. At Kathgodam we rested for lunch and refreshments.
After taking 1 hour lunch break at Kathgodam, which is necessary before climbing the hill, we left Kathgodam for Nainital at 4.15 pm, as it was evening and it was dark, we wanted to reach Nainital before sunset (light Have to drive on hills below ) difficult for an inexperienced driver). Being a tourist center the road is in good condition.
I drove carefully and cautiously and did not speed more than 30 kmph. Initially I was a little apprehensive to drive on the curvy road. But there were many vehicles on the hilly road so I was encouraged and kept going. I get butterflies in my stomach every time I have to cross the curves, hairpin turns, high inclines and drops on this section.
I was driving very carefully on hills and whenever there was a turn, I used to slow down completely and pick up the speed for 30 kms after crossing the turn. Throughout this route I stayed on the left and never overtook any vehicle. One thing I want to share here is that we should never drive alone on this route and never look towards the slope while driving.
Seeing this we can get scared and lose confidence and go off the road which is dangerous. After driving around 1 hour 15 minutes in the valley we finally reached at the entrance of Nainital at 5.30 pm.
We checked into the hotel at 6.30 pm, after refreshing ourselves for the day we went for a walk around mall road and had snacks, momos and then dinner at Embassy restaurant.
Total Toll Tax Rs 175

I am Sanjay Kumar Thakur from Patna Bihar. I have created my channel Travel Vlog "SNEXT"
"Travel is the healthiest addiction"
India's best road trips will take you to the heart of the subcontinent. Ideas of my channel Travel vlog SNEXT are personal, realistic videos that feature the blogger exploring new areas or locations of India.Videos of my vlogs are then uploaded on video-sharing pages like UA-cam.
These videos will also provide helpful travel tips on what places to visit, where to eat and where to stay at. The phrase 'the journey is the destination' was made for India. When crossing the subcontinent, every step of every journey is filled with sights, sounds and sensations that will consume your senses and shake up everything you thought you knew about travel.
Driving on highways that throng with handcarts, cattle, camels, monkeys and people requires nerves of steel and the patience of a Buddhist master.

Choosing the better route from Lucknow to Nainital depends on your preferences for road conditions, traffic, and scenery. Here are the two main options:
1. **Via Bareilly:**
- **Route:** Lucknow → Sitapur → Shahjahanpur → Bareilly → Haldwani → Nainital
- **Total Distance:** Approximately 400-420 km
- **Road Conditions:** Generally good with well-maintained highways (NH30 and NH9). More straightforward with major towns and cities en route.
- **Traffic:** Moderate, with potential congestion in urban areas like Bareilly.
- **Scenery:** Offers a mix of urban and rural landscapes. The route through Bareilly and Haldwani provides scenic views as you get closer to Nainital.
2. **Via Pilibhit:**
- **Route:** Lucknow → Sitapur → Lakhimpur → Pilibhit → Haldwani → Nainital
- **Total Distance:** Approximately 380-400 km
- **Road Conditions:** Varies, with some stretches being less well-maintained compared to the Bareilly route. Some parts may have narrower roads.
- **Traffic:** Generally lighter compared to the Bareilly route, especially between Pilibhit and Haldwani.
- **Scenery:** More rural and scenic, especially near Pilibhit. It passes through more natural landscapes and offers a more serene drive.
### Considerations:
- **Travel Time:** Both routes have a similar travel time of about 8-10 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
- **Road Quality:** The route via Bareilly generally has better-maintained roads, which can make for a smoother drive.
- **Traffic:** If you prefer avoiding city traffic, the Pilibhit route might be better as it encounters less congestion.
- **Scenery:** For more scenic and rural views, the Pilibhit route is preferable.
### Recommendation:
For a more comfortable and reliable journey, especially if you're looking for better road conditions and easier navigation, the route via Bareilly is generally recommended. However, if you prefer a quieter and more scenic drive and are okay with potentially rougher road conditions in some parts, the Pilibhit route is a good alternative.
