Cosima is a big fan favourite and I personally understand why, Alison and Helena are both great characters too. Every character is so well played.. But I see it a lot acutally. Where the main haracter gets overshadowed by others but I think in this show that never happened but a lot of people do see it like that I guess :)

Sorry to be the voice of dissent here but in terms of character development Sarah really had the least amount of growth. With the exception of becoming a good mum to Kira there was very little change in Sarah's character and at times she could be blatantly cruel. I absolutely hated the way she treated Delphine and granted at the beginning Delphine's motives were questionable but so were Paul's and just because Delphine played her role from behind the scenes, everything she did was for the safety of the sestras. The kitchen scene in 5x10 when Delphine was trying to talk to Sarah was so off putting that I found myself disappointed in the writing. I know Sarah was hurting but it was the same old behavior we have seen from her for 5 seasons. Christ, Delphine took a bullet for the sestras and the only one who acknowledged it was Cosima. I'll take Cosima any day because even though she's a hot head she is at least multi-dimensional. Just my opinion and hope I didn't piss too many people off.
cassandra I'm a huge fan or Orphan Black and I happened to watch ALL the videos that you were made and like I said I know I am the voice of dissent regarding this video but I am still entitled to my opinion. My negativity was hardly addressed at the maker of the video but rather as I see as the character flaws in Sarah's development which has more to do with the writer's than anything else. Personally I consider Tat to be a genius but I'm not going to apologize for having an opinion that differs from the status quo. Truly hope you have a great weekend.
Got to disagree, Sarah has had amazing character development IMO. Although you are definitely entitled to yours. She not only went from being a bad mother to a good mother, but she changed her selfish "It's all about me, screw everyone else" ways to protect her family. The Sarah in early season 1 wouldn't have given two craps about Helena, Cosima, or Alison, and certainly wouldn't have protected them the way she did as the series progressed. Yes, she has definitely had moments exhibiting the older "bad" behaviors, but I see that as realistic regression during times of stress and trauma, rather than lack of character development. If you look at Sarah season 1 vs. Sarah seasons 2-5, she has absolutely evolved and changed for the better. At the end of the day, she is still Sarah, she's prone to swearing, doesn't trust easily, and is hard on the people she loves- that's who she is. I can understand if you don't particularly like her personality, but to say that she's stayed the same selfish, narrow-minded character that she was in season 1 is just not true.

Donnie, and Alison grew the most and oddly, although not a Leda, we saw a huge change in Delphine, particular in S3. I truly don't dislike Sarah but in comparison to some other characters I don't feel her personal changes were as drastic. K Wolfe couldn't disagree more! Just one line is enough to show just how far she has come, that moment she screams at Mrs. S and says 'abandon her just like everyone else has done her entire life?' And she risks her own life to find her twin to bring her back to safety! Sarah is outwardly brash and will always be prickly. But it's her sheer grit that kept them all alive through the seasons and she who was dealing with the loss of her mom when she snaps at Delphine. To say Sarah is same as she was first season is so unfair :( she has been super brave and kept them together taking the responsibility from Beth; who did it before her.
