- Just like its full scale counterpart the E-flite UMX P-51D “Detroit Miss” is an aerobatic thoroughbred. With 3s packs it is a fast and smooth performer but is still very docile when you pull back on the throttle. An added bonus is that it looks as nice as a display model.

Okay, okay....just as I've come to expect, perfect (or near perfect) flying as usual. 👍
What I really want to see is a blooper reel. Maybe, just maybe, there's a crash in there somewhere. 😆
Fortunately I don’t crash… much. 😂 But I have crashed a couple in the last couple years. Someday I’ll put together a crash video. Until then thanks for watching my videos gmorphan.

Thanks Roland!!! My instructor in 1973 was a pattern flyer and always emphasized being as smooth as possible on the sticks.

I really like the new scheme. I was never a fan of purple on a plane so I sold my Voodoo after a couple dozen flights. I plan to keep this one.

I bet “scale” speed might be pushing 500 mph or more. It moves right along.

Is this model hard to fly? I'm able to fly volantex/eachine warbirds in expert mode (I don't know if you know them). Could I get this as next plane or would I need a step in between?🤔
Thank you for your kind words. The little P-51 is actually quite stable and docile out of the box. I always bump up the control throw to make it a bit more agile. If in doubt start with a 2s pack.
Wow just amazing! You can fly so perfectly ! I am so impressed by your skills! Love your channel. Did you make any adjustmensts? Because i have the umx vodoo and she is still a Little bit tail heavy? I would like to get the new sheme but honestly i don‘ t know. Did you do adjustments on the elevator or the CG ? Greetings from Austria
Thanks Dimitri!!! The only adjustments from stock was to move the rudder and elevator pushrods in two holes. I also have the battery all the way forward in the battery compartment.

Hello there. Im curious if you grab your nose cone or prop does your motor kind of wiggle ? Mine does and not sure if it's supposed to be like that. I wouldn't think so lol. It's not like these are easy to open up and get to the motor either.
Yes, there is a little play but it not an issue.

Question: does it still make a loud rattling motor noise like the old p51? Or is the Motor quiet now?
The motor is very quiet. Eerily quiet.
Mine is with the Battery all the way back still nose heavy? Is this bad?
I think you’ll find it flies fine. Mine is also a little nose heavy with the battery at the rear of the compartment.

Do you have to trim it ?
I centered the controls before the first flight so it only took a very small amount of trim to get it locked in. It also flies very nice on 2s and is nearly as aerobatic.

I’ve flown it numerous times on 2s and you are 100% correct.
