My citizenship interview is scheduled on June 15, I have been your student since I submitted my citizenship application in February this year. Therefore, I practice with your mock interview video very hard everyday. Now I have a question for your suggestion, if I was asked by the officer, “ Have you ever not filed a federal, state ,or local tax return since you became a lawful permanent resident?”Can I answer like this, “ I no need to file tax return because of my low income. Here you’re my monthly payroll for your reference.” Thank you for your reply.

Hi @dennypoon9238, thanks for practicing with our videos. About your question, yes of course... you may (and must) tell the officer honestly that you have not filed your tax return because of low income. And yes, you may also add by saying, "Here's my monthly payroll for your reference." It's always best to tell the officer the truth, and provide supporting documents (such as your payroll) or anything else you have as your proof. Wishing you all the best on your interivew and test next week! 🙏❤️

Thank you for your kindly advice that I would be honest to tell the truth for officer’s approval.
