Thanks for reminding us of that pathetic scene..
7:50 you left out the funniest part of this. The reason they doubted it was a hoax from the beginning was the swastika was drawn backwards….. because he drew it himself in a mirror 😅
Morton Downey JR raised suspicions about the skinhead attack when the swastika on his face appeared to be a mirror image, like what you might see if used a mirror to paint words or symbols on your face.
If you look at graffiti swastikas drawn all over the place, they're drawn both ways. People don't know which way they're supposed to be drawn. Having it "mirrored" on his face doesn't mean anything.
@@RatKindler Ha Ha Ha! Obviously a Morton Downey fan! Keep telling yourself that!
@@SeptemberChild1835 Keep telling yourself that people know a lot about Nazis. I have no idea which way the swastika goes and thus would have a 50% chance of getting it right. Phil Donahue's program was the first and only time I"d ever seen a simulcast with America and Russian audiences. I watched with my youthful, misinformed trepidation to see their audiences had the same concerns as our audiences here about any and all aspects of life. I learned from his show that governments do not necessarily represent the people.

Angus Deayton was very smart not many people can make fun of themselves. And he somehow still ruined, What a shame.
I legit laughed when he made that comment about himself!
Ian Hislop said many years later that when then host becomes the joke of the show it distracts from the purpose of the show and whilst they tried to overcome it, it just couldn't continue with Deayton in the host chair. They thought the joke would last a week, Deayton took the piss out of himself, Ian brought a copy of the newspaper and then Paul Merton wore the newspaper on his tshirt, they thought that would be the end of it. But then when Deayton took the piss out of the guests and they turned around and said yeah but what about you.... it defeats the purpose of the show.

Are you dumb?
Trump wasn't elected for making that comment. The other option was simply that bad. The comment was made 11 years before the election. He was a known billionaire playboy when he said it, and it's completely true. Gold digging women would let a billionaire and famous person touch them wherever he wanted if they could get something out of it and you know it.

Pee Wee Herman was a TV host: he got the same shaft that Fred Willard got. They were men _being_ men. They weren't in a classroom where little school children could see them. They weren't in a mall where John Q. Public and his frigid wife Dottie could look at them. They were in the dark, during a "routine" _shakedown_ (which meant that some sleeze-ball saw them there and called the National Enquirer at the same time they called the cops. Either that, or those rags called the cops for the bigger story about them getting arrested and booked) The irony is, that poor Billy Bush was only guilty by association. He didn't _do_ anything except listen and laugh nervously at some high-stakes asshole was basically flaunting every schoolboy's dream

Because the mainstream media (Google, UA-cam) hasn't decided whether someone like Ellen is capable of wrongdoing yet. In today's political climate though, that seems unlikely.
