I bought a white blanket and put it on my bed. I use a stool to get the height I need and I have a few lights I bought off of Amazon. I’ve seen people use a white rug to take pictures. Just some other options for people out there looking to better their photos.

Hi Amy! Whenever I see your sales for Chairish I think to myself “you would never get that on EBay!” I completely agree with you to lean into Chairish- you are already established there and know your way around. Having 2 platforms is a lot of work and throwing another platform in takes away from the others. I’m still finding my way with Posh but not sure of any other platform that would be a better fit for me as my 2nd to eBay. Thanks so much for sharing!! Hi Hannah! I did get three items listed on eBay last week. I think I’m going to list some things that I think will specifically do better on there. I have many items that are unlisted because they aren’t the right fit for Posh or Chairish.

I was almost scammed recently too! A buyer bought a pair of new cowboy boots full price from me, then like 10 days after the sale, claimed that there was pen line marks by all sides of the pull tabs. My pictures showed no flaws, so I took close ups of the pictures and guess what, no flaws. (I have a 4.9 rating for about 7 years now.) She was so insistent and made up this elaborate story that I doctored or edited the photos. I wouldn't even know how to do that! LOL . She mentioned she bought them for her maternity pictures and why would she mark them up. I am usually calm and will accept returns if they are reasonable, but this girl marked them up after she used them and wanted to return.I'm guessing she just put a small pen mark on all of the tabs just in case she couldn't return. I insisted there were no marks. Since the sale was already complete, Poshmark said they would contact her by email. I wasn't a part of that conversation, so I don't know what they ended up deciding. I hope they did not refund her.

Some people can be see so shady. Why would she wait 10 days to report such and obvious flaw? Sounds like she wore them for her photos and then wanted to get her money back. I hope Posh didn’t refund her. I’m always so curious what happens behind the scenes in those cases.
I just had a buyer open a case at the last hour before sale closed on damaged shoes . I do a pretty through test before I send. Posh sided with her but she never sent back . They finally released my $ after I said I was filing a police report and claim withBBB. There is some funny business going on lately, hearing a lot of this going on
Dang, it seems like more buyers are being shady on there. I just had another buyer claim that she didn’t get the earrings I sent. The post office showed as delivered, but she said she didn’t get it.
I photo against a white wall for front/back first photos. I found a quilter’s measurement pad at a garage sale, that I use to photo my measurements and any other details. I find it has been such a time saver - even though I receive requests for measurements sometimes 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣

Yes! I use a white wall for my clothing photos, works great. That’s a great idea for measurements, I’ll have to keep my eyes out for one of those.
I wish I could get more of Tbirds carrying on on video. Sometime she goes crazy with jibber jabber and by the time I get the phone out, she stops. 😂 One day I’ll catch it.

Oh, that bird head purse is fabulous! Sorry that it didn't bring more profit for you. The cloisonne vases are lovely and agree with you that the colors are great. Love that rose belt and the fish wall pocket! Between my eyes, the camera on my Android phone and the when I edit my pics from my phone to my laptop and on PhotoRoom, my pics come out out of focus way too often. Someone did a Return-To-Seller to me and I did receive it. PM got involved and they paid me and charged her at the end. lol Glad PM sided with you. Have a great week, Amy!

I own a consignment shop, probably similar to your store front and we def can utilize some of the tax stuff in our favor.
I feel like are two kinds of reseller, ones that love the story behind the piece, the care in making it. Name brand or not… and we can kinda get attached. The other kind of resells are truly just looking at the bottom dollar. I totally get that… but I am a kinda gets attached reseller. LOL
I’d definitely recommend speaking with a couple different accountants and trying to find one that understands the business we are in. Anything that you think could be a potential right off, ask your accountant about. It costs me a decent amount to have mine do my taxes, but it’s always been worth it in the end.
I’m the type of reseller who gets attached. 😂 Sometimes I wish I wasn’t.

Hello! On Poshmark, you photograph and list your own items, then ship them to the buyer. I think Thredup and the Realreal are the main sites that do consignment type sales like you are talking about. 😊

The only thing I would add to taking photos is take as many angles of the item as possible as well as take photo of any defects/flaws. I had wanted to ask how you photograph your jewelry since you seem to sell quite a bit, so thanks for the insight.

What do you do when someone sends an offer on an item you have sent out 20% off on? Especially when the 20% off sale price has the item marked down really low.
Hi! I look at each item individually, basing my decision on other sold comps and how much I paid for the item. Hope this helps.
