      I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope life is kind to you from here on out. :) I agree with you.. I lost my husband suddenly to a brain aneurysym 22 years ago. I was 5 mths pregnant at the time. My son is now 21. He has tourettes syndrome and autism. It's been rough. You never know what life is gonna throw at you. Never take things for granted and live each day to its fullest. If you're in an unhappy situation, get out and find your true happiness. I have followed both Kayla and Matt from the beginning and there is such a difference in them. They seem genuinely happy now and I can't love this enough. Everyone deserves happiness.

    Don't worry about marking silver down if it's tarnished. Many folks like vintage pieces like this. Tarnished silver is super easy to clean and doesn't loose value in anyway. You will sell it off the markings and style. Taxco silver is sought after and tarnish is not a deal breaker at all.

      Yes to shooters... we also called them boulders.. the big guys are flicked out w your thumb and used to hit the small marbles in the "pot" a hole in the ground, and winner keeps all... I loved playing marbles as a kid! We dug four holes in a square w a hole in the center. Everyone would put3-4 marbles in the center pot. Then take turns going around the square trying to get your marble in the hole, then the middle hole was last. The first person to get their boulder around the square, then the center pot, won all the marbles in the center pot put up at the start of the game. Now you can play! Of course, that is just one way to play of many. That guy must have been the marble champ in his neighborhood!

Rushing feels too much like, “pulling one over on them.” Imagine how she would feel waking up to a couple bucks and all her books gone… They did the right thing. There’s a plenty of good deals to be had.

    Kayla.. owls ect.. are "stick pins" from the early 80's we would just pin them on our shirts above your boob between neck n shoulder or on a lapel of a jacket also we'd pin them to the right or left side of our Cowell neck sweaters (baggy turtle neck) or a pin to join the criss cross ends of a scarf/shawl 😅

    Coworker of mine told me that there's 3 main reasons for a garage sale: 1. Get rid of stuff. 2. Social interaction. 3. Make some money.
    My sister and I were talking about how at the end of life, your family has to deal with all of your stuff. So, now I'm going through all of my stuff and I'm getting rid of a lot. Ebay, giving some away, and donating. I don't want to be on an episode of hoarders.

      I've been collecting jewelry (mostly sterling, Native American and custom), pottery, and art for years. Was surprised recently when my son said I ought to rent a small dumpster and clear some of it out. Guess I need to start rehoming or selling some of my treasures so they won't end up in a landfill..lol.

    • @heidifruchtl354
      @heidifruchtl354 8 місяців тому +4

      @janedeclarico5920 my sister knows that I resell, watch antiques roadshow, and I spend a lot of time looking stuff up. Plus, she's been with mom when she found a few of her best garage sales finds of jewelry. She asked me if I had a clue about some of the things in mom and dad's house. I inspected a few things, pointed out what I saw and moved on.
      I think that you should get an appraisal for your collection, cause it sounds like your son is an idiot. No offense. Cause the one thing that my mom and I discovered, is that the things that I don't find appealing, tends to be really valuable. I mean, how many people have found really valuable items at yard sales for a few dollars that are worth thousands?
      Don't get the dumpster. Unless you're putting your son in it...

      @darkhorse9472 what? I'm serious. The most expensive thing I ever sold on eBay was a truly ugly plate. I still have the photo of it, more than 10 years later. My mom, who was my main support back then, was terrified about packing it. One of the things that an expert on antiques roadshow said that since the "ugly" stuff wasn't displayed, it didn't get damaged. That's why it tends to be in good condition.
