- Today I am out trying to find whatever water is left to fish in our draining lake! The original creek beds are all that remain on this part of the lake so we are hoping to find some big ones trapped and hungry in there! Follow along to see everything I'm able to haul onto shore! Thanks so much for watching and we will see you on the next one!

The good thing about not having water around the dock is u can make any necessary repairs to it, 5 years gets u plenty of time to get things done slowly.
Hi Cole, Jay, Cyprus and Summer. Great video. Thanks for taking us along with you fishing. Lake is sad looking. God bless and love yall ❤❤
During a drought here in Illinois we actually caught many over four netted them transported them to biggest lake in same area Fishing was great for my kids while growing up thanks 👍 for sharing your journey appreciate it very much we both still be out there 😂
Dude! I am glad you said something about a lot of people are watching the channel and ate not subscribed. I know I was subscribed!! But when I checked I wasn't. What happened? I have been watching ya'll for a couple of years now. I know it was way before Jay found out she was pregnant with Cyprus your son. Thanks for saying something!! I will keep a check on it from now on! I watch just about every video you' very made. I really enjoyed the Christmas special! It took me back to when my 2 girls were little. They are now 30 and 26! Time flies bro, don't blink!!
Amazing content sir!
Kin to the Northern Pike, they love the cold
In The South We Drain The Lakes! Boat Lanes Get CleanedBoat Docks And Boat Ramps Are Repaired And The Winter Cold Kills The Vegetation Way Back! Its Worked Great All My Life! Every Lake Within 3 Years Are Awesome Again! ✝️✝️✝️
I hope you're using your drone to get the video/map of the lake bottom for future reference.... it might even be 'marketable'🤔
At least u don't have to worry about losing ur stringer in this video 😂😂😂
You have a great opportunity to place and create some great fishing habitat while the lake is down. You should have some great places once it gets filled up after the work on the lake.
Cole if your gonna fillet a Pickerel check out Lindner's angling edge "Red Lake walleye " episode Ryan Deshae gives an awesome tutorial on filleting pike easily to avoid all the y bones and has made my pike filleting much easier, pike are delicious i am sure pickerel are as well.
Awww the land looks so sad 😪 but the sky looked beautiful. Enjoyed the video. Still thinking about Jay's reaction to her Beautiful rings!!! 🥰 (Story Time With Miss Evelyn 📚) 🙏😊
NICE JOB MONSTERS TO BAD THEY DRAIN THE LAKE THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Awesome work Cole! And yes cook and clean, at least you all had a pair of scissors I had to use a stick, talk about a messed up job. But the fish were ok.
God bless you all
Once again great video 🙏🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
I didn’t know how beautiful Arkansas was until last week. Definitely not what I expected visually or socially
Arkansas is an amazing place if you love the outdoors!
Enjoyed the content Brother. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Nice video Cole, from lake to creek fishing, glad you're still having fun ,the Congo Crawl looks good, I,ll have to grab a few packs of those for sure, missed seeing Jay but still enjoyed video, thanks buddy
What is the probability of your honey hole retaining water throughout the draining of the lake? Do you think there will be enough rain to keep the water level up? It would be a shame to see all those fish die out.
They will kill all the living fish before they fill it back up
I really enjoyed watching you catch those fish. My kind of fishing. I would think it might be good to fish until summer. God bless you guys
@ranbo9390 that's the sad
Part. They are too many people going hungry. That would be a great meal for them.
I still don't get why they didn't dredge the lake instead of draining it. Dredging would have been cheaper and way less loss of all the wildlife no matter which kind there is. From the birds to the turtles. Dredging is done to actually make lakes, even shipping channel whether it be fresh or saltwater. After all they don't drain the Ocean when they're working on shipping channels.
The EPA won't let them dredge this particular lake again. Parts of the lake are actually right above the area sewer system. They started dredging back in the 90s and ended up dumping a lot of raw sewage into the lake. They have no maps of the sewer system and the EPA won't allow dredging until they can drain the lake and get locates done for the sewer system and utilities.
@joemattox7525 How did they get raw sewage from the lake bed? That's very strange that they put the sediment back into the lake. They should be pumping the sediment out and hauling off to a dry land dump site or building a bank and/or berms from the sediment/sand/or dirt removed. Do you know who did that dredging back then? Sounds like they didn't know what they were doing.
I suspect their plan is to make the lake usable for pleasure boaters, sadly. After it sits dry for a year or three I think they’ll do some excavation.
@@JimWisniewski-xj8ds I honestly don't know who did the dredging. They have tunnels and pipes running underneath the lake. After the original dredging was done, the lake water level was low. I don't know a ton of the details behind it. Like I said earlier, I only had time to skim the newspaper article because my mom was getting off of work. I was only like 12 or 13 at the time all this happened. I just remember that there was an investigation into the local government because of how the sewer system was designed and "lost" records and maps. I moved away shortly after and couldn't really keep up with what was going on after the move. We didn't exactly have internet in the palm of our hands back then lol. My parents were divorced and our meeting spot for when i would visit my mom was at this lake. My dad would get us there early so we could fish while we waited for my mom to get there.
Dredging takes a lot more man hours a hell of a lot more equipment and it’s way more expensive. It’s not cheaper.
Yep! Fish are trapped around our lake, Cole. About that Chain Pickerel - LOT of Bones in them (but the meat tastes good!).
Thanks for bringin' us along on your Adventure (and I'll be trying that creek this week...!). Lol
I am going to tell you that what I love better than your fishing and that’s seeing you two enjoying it together. Marriage is a lot of work for both parties. But the lasting results is truly amazing and remarkable these days. So hang in there you two. It will be well worth it in the long run.
I always take a backpack for tackle when bank fishing. Works out perfectly. Plus, I use a old school Fannie Pack while in the boat. Time =s fish. Lol
Great Fishes.... now you to be in a tournament!!!! You need a chicken to eat the burs off your pants and boots!!!! Hello Jay, Cy, and Summer!!!! Happy New Year!!!!
HEY Cole Jay & Fam. You need to do a FISH RESCUE 🛟 video. Even if it's just the breeders. If you're allowed to do this in your state I think it would be a cool video!!!! #SAVETHEFISH
Do you have to have the treasure permit if you are just fishing?
I got one to pick up some trash, which is stupid.
Anyways, there is quite a bit of water left near me and I've thought of trying to do a little fishing.
With the fish being trapped I thought you’d take them home. Thanks for all the fishing advise
That's what I was thinking.
Try and take advantage of your dock area. Make it deeper and set up a lot more fish structure around your dock area and make it a crappie and bass paradise around your dock. Just a thought 🤔
Lol
You should try some Crappie fishing in the creek. And bring along the slab Queen. Still some great Bass in there.
hey yall, great vid, the chain pickeral, aka Jackfish, is one of the best freshwater eating fish.. just remember to gash the filets with a razor blade, because they have some tiny bones that will pretty much fry away while cooking, if you gash them, enjoy
To bad you couldn't move those nice bass to another body of water ... Those chain pickerel are good to eat ... had some when I was in Toronto, Canada on business.
In cold water, peg the slip sinker. Much better control.
You should do a hike and see how much lost tackle you can save😉🎣
I’d hate to see those remaining fish go to waste. Is there any chance to net or shock what’s left?
Awesome pickeral🔥🔥❤️
I still hate to see them draining yalls lake but I am glad you are still able 6o fish at least some of it. Great video Happy new year to you and your wonderful family
Cole, I have a question, why aren’t you keeping any fish? If nobody goes out after you, won’t these fish be wasted? I know bass isn’t my preferred fish to eat but who knows. Plus if you want eat the pickerel you’d better plan on an extensive bone picking party! Northern Pike are full of little bones. Meat is awesome but the bones make me not want to eat them.
MAN I HATE TO SEE IT , IM STILL FISHING IT ALMOST EVERYDAY THE BITE IS FIRE AT TIMES AND GONE JUST AS FAST
Nice slime rocket out there! Those pickerel can be fun to catch! Great video!
I want to be like you when I grow up 😂 great videos 👍🏾
Killer bass slayin there Cole!!! Chain Pickerel are a blast to catch. I used to catch them back home when I started jig fishing in the winter. They get really big too. That Congo Craw looks like it is going to be a bait to contend with. Panorama is going to get my attention and I got a spot I plan to introduce them to & I know I'm in for a great time when I do
We have been smoking some slabs with the 2.0 and 2.8 panorama! And the Congo craw is definitely a special bait! Can’t wait to flip it around this spring!
Nice bass. Looks like the bait did the job.
Wow. Super cool video man!
Are there any plans to relocate the fish as they drain the lake?
Great fishing
Great video, I lived in south Arkansas the first 32 years of my life, only got to fish Lake Conway once, always loved the lake, so beautiful, so sad to see what they are doing to the lake. There are so many lakes in Arkansas to go pleasure boating, keep your head up and dont let it get you down. Live in Tennessee now, just got home from a sauger fishing trip on the upper Cumberland at Wartrace Tenn. I own a place on Reelfoot Lake in west Tennessee, if you are ever interested in fishing there. Just let me know.
Cole and Jay yall the best
I really have enjoyed all of your content.I live in Spring Texas But it's hard to find large panfish like bluegills, redears, and pumpkin seeds.Yall really have a great fishery where y'all live.looking forward to y'all's next video
Northern Pike are good eating. A lot of Y bones.
Excellent video Brother
Thanks looks like a fun place to fish!
I literally drove to Maumelle today and it’s crazy how fast they drained it. I couldn’t believe it when I drove by it.
Awesome day of fishing. I love the boots on the ground bank fishing. And thise were some nice fish imagine how much nicer if the lake wasn't so bad. The bass look healthy which I'm assuming because the bait is concentrated but the color of them is so unhealthy. Love the channel nel brother wish your home lake wasn't being handled the way it was
In Kentucky we call those hitch hikers stuck un your clothes Spanish Needles!
Thanks so much! That was awesome ❤
I get those baits too, different brand but same crazy craw design. They do great in bright green!
Before they started draining ,they took all the limits off ,catch all keep all is what they had posted, I read it on the Arkansas web site for that lake.
I enjoyed watching you catch the big bass! Duct tape will pull those nettles off your pant legs so you don’t have to throw them away! I hope you had fun with Jay, Cypress, and Summer! Lots of prayers for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
Back in the 90s early 2000s power bait made a bait identical to that but it was called a Skeeter hawk and they were awesome. You could put pork on them and really get them
Looks like its always been more of shallow swamp than a lake. Hopefully they do some digging.
Another great adventure. Now that the lake is drained can you report any progress by the state for improvements.
“flappy creature bait” was nickname in high school.
Pitboss will always be my money lure for pitching and flipping stomps... June bug color for me was money, googan makes good ones also.. , I'll def try those out thus spring
Very smart orange orange 🍊
Just subscribed! Love the videos man keep going. I live in Ohio my mother lives in Conway. I’ve fished lake Conway when I was visiting there and I saw the infamous alligator lol
That’s awesome! We’ve only seen it twice! Thanks for the support!
First was a spot. Second a Florida third a northern. Cool, you need to find away to save those fish.
I LIKE USEING BIG BAITES AT NIGHT FISHING FORBASS MY COLOR WOULD BE IN A BALCKAND BLUE AND SOME BRASS &GLASSINTHE SUMMERS
Find some of those tagged big $$ fish Cole. That would be so cool. Love you all..Happy New Year ❤
Hey Cole, not a bad 5er day!
Will you go back and catch to eat?
Have a nice time with the family 😊.
JO JO IN VT 💞
I would love to know where you all got your kayaks from.
Dang , you should invest in a 4X4 ATV save time and a way to haul your gear .
Check the federal law about the lakes in your area because if it is migration route for water birds the may have to refill it
i love seeing all of your videos, but i am wondering why are you throwing all those fish back if the lake is drying up?
Caught a chain pickerel by accident. Some of the best eating 😎
Hay Cole, With there plans for the Lake, what will it do for the lake over all? will it change the landscape of the lake bottom.
Sew were listening to a Cole confession?
You should be able to find some lures hung on things there ⁉️
Should've made some leg gaters, plastic trash bag n duct tape...
What's going to happen to the fish in this part of the lake? Will they survive the winter in such shallow water? 13:13
Are there any reports of what happened to that little gator you showed in a previous video?
It's so nice to see Palarm Creek for the first time in almost 80 years, since the dam was built and the creek drown beneath its own impounded waters. Soon, the former lakebed will start to green up and trees will grow along the riparian zone of the creek. The reversion from an impounded, artificial reservoir to natural creek is a site to behold that few get to see. After a few years, it won't even look like there ever was a reservoir as Nature takes over.
The dam still blocks fish passage due to the headwalls of the old dam. After a few years and seeing the return of this natural waterway, no conservationist with an understanding of sustainability and water quality issues will want to see this are re-dammed. The outmoded concept of damming our natural waterways is something right out of a Wes Anderson film.
I know that was fun.
In your opinion, what percent of fish will follow the creek channel, and make their way to the dam, then to the river? I'm curios to see how this lake drain effects the maumelle pool of the river in fish population, and a possible increase in health of that pool.
Less than 5% I think. Fish don’t like swimming down through dams.
Where did the Alligators go, you'd think they would be there. You said you had gators in your lake
Or scissors, split two of the four "legs"... 😱🎣
Hey cole i live in the fort Smith area u ever around over here be cool if i take u out fishing around here
Why would you throw the bass back when the body of water is going to dry up and fish will die?
Why are you not keeping any fish today? You have caught some really good ones ❤
I have been subscribed for 2 years to your UA-cam channel 🎣👍🏼 what LB size of braided fishing line do you have paired up with that combo 🎣
Should ware waders.
Cole what did do with the fish
Happy New Year
God Bless America
Bet you could rack up on lost baits
I’ve found a few! But not as many as you would think. This lake you can usually get your stuff back!
@@COLE_and_JAY
Cole I bet Jessica is still looking at her new rings and smiling 😊 ❤
Cole & Jay what Lake is this?
I sure wish y’all guys would come out a say what months it is your fishing
Hey Cole where's your hunting brush pants 👖 or chaps to go over your jeans 👖
Did you find your lost stringer....and why not keeping???
Lake Conway looks pretty sad Cole.
Heartbreaking...
I hope those 'experts' know what they are doing...
God bless ALL of us!
WWG1WGA
I can’t help, but feel that it wasn’t necessary to do things that way. They could have taken it down to 1/3 normal level and gotten what they wanted without ruining the dish population.
Hey Cole Sooo what is going to happen to whatever fish is left there???
Why is your lake draining or drying up?
They looked like they would have been delicious.
