Man I'm a little nervous watching the wizard and glass review. Because I've been reading them first and watching these after to refresh and listen but the thing about the rose in future plot seems to be spoiled alittle when you mentioned it:/
All I could think of during the riddles between the Ka-Tet and Blaine was riddle game between Bilbo and Gollum. I know King says Tolkien was a big inspiration while writing these books. Loved every page of The Dark Tower
it is my second favorite of the series. my favorite is Wizard and Glass and my least favorite is Song of Susannah. The Waste Lands is my second favorite book in the series or maybe Wolves of the Calla, i cant pick between those for the second place so i think its a tie. The Waste Lands was a fun and quick read.
I preferred your "ramblings" over the Wikipedia entries, honestly. I feel like the Wiki skips over some interesting details or points of conversation that you normally touch on.
Awesome review as always! I didn't realize the rose was Jake's tower. My fave part of this book was the story of Charlie the Choo Choo. What an eerie story. "And be a happy choo choo train, until the day I die."
Thanks! I really enjoyed your review! I've been listening to The Dark Tower on audiobook and have narcolepsy so I pass out a lot, lol. Your review filled in a few blanks for me so thanks again; great review !!!
I loved the book. As he said, there is a battle in the beginning and end. I personally loved the river crossing section. It's really the first discovery of other humans in the world and it was fascinating to see how they perceive Roland. Only part that lulled was Jake in New York, which I enjoyed but it took a long time.
i just finished reading this book today for the first time and i thought that cliffhanger ending was hilariously awful. i can't imagine what it must've been like finishing that back book in the day and then having to wait a few years before you could continue.
If you look at the publication dates its ridiculous, George RR Martin got nothing on King it took 15 years for books 1 - 4 to come out. Then nearly 2 years later King gets hit and considers retiring with half the story untold. If someone was born the day the first book came out grew up by book 7 being released they could legally drink in the US.
To me RiverCrossing wasn't boring at all. The boring part was that whole section of the book where Jake is trying to get back to Mid-World from New York. It took me about a week just to finish that act because it was SO damn boring that I could only do about 20 pages until I lost interest for the day.
PeeJay Torres Wow really? I respect your opinion but for me that was one of my favorite sections. I was on the edge of my seat, hoping that Jake would make it back. Different strokes, for different folks, sai PeeJay.
I think the story kind of falls apart after this book. It might have been the time between books or Kings injury. Either way I'm glad he did finish the story. I just didn't like the direction it went. This was my favorite book in the series lol it was a super cliff hanger
See you later aligator, been awhile crocodile, don't forget to write.

Tolkien is another level, and king is at that level.
“Crazy Train” lol yet another potential music reference that went over my head
King has mentioned before that he listens to his favorite rock songs while writing...that is most evident throughout this series

Goodpicks!!!
I don't need a review I just like hearing you describe books. Long days and pleasant nights

Thanks for the input. I can definitely go back to doing the summary. I think I only used Wikipedia on this one
It did get slow after Jake tried to open his 20th door to find nothing on the other side. But it did pick up at the end

Glad I could help out! Thanks for the watch. Will be reviewing the last two books in the series once I have finished reading them again
I felt like the River Crossing part showed how "Gunslingers" were revered by the people. The White.
What is going on in the background?
I just wish more would actually happen in these books. This 3rd book is my favorite of the 3 so far but still a little slow for me.

the river crossing section also showed roland in a different light, hes not JUST a killer
nice I see why all Stephen king novels go together now cause of this tower but I wonder after hearing this is IT the sickness in the tower
Aaram Chase Oooh interesting idea
Great review, pal! I mostly enjoyed this book. The cliffhanger ending was a bit obnoxious, to me, but the book had some nice moments, regardless.

Alejandro4891 it was a pretty comical ending and it was an in interesting set of years trying to figure out how King was gonna talk his way out of it.
Um, why is there no review for Wizard and Glass?

Christie Brooks um...what?
Any know where to find the original frank muller audiobook for the gunslinger?
You could try Audible.
Mir also had those wormy things in his brain if you remember.
