I'm really interested in Billie Holiday Sings. I also like Oscar Peterson. I recommend The Astaire Story from Fred Astaire. It features Oscar Peterson and Barney Kessel it's a wonderful album. My favourite Billie Holiday record is Lady In Satin.
Well, it's Billie's BDay, so I have more tolerance for this ranking stuff if it's a chance to review her wonderful discography. Already I'm disagreeing ('Strange Fruit' is not her most popular record) but thanks for the post!
if your metric for "popularity" is initial sales figures then sure, but there isn't really an argument for another song of hers possessing the same amount of cultural import nowadays (or even 50 years ago for that matter).
Per the usual a strong discussion and very passionate. I know nothing about her, but I'm gonna add most of these to my to do list now. :)
She is the GOAT!
