Welder’s Painful Corns Removal
Here Dr. Kim is tending to a patient, James, who has corns on both of his feet. With a job as a welder, James gets to help build stadiums and airports. However, his job is strenuous as he has to carry heavy boxes up and down flights of stairs daily which only worsens the condition of his feet. Here, Dr. Kim is treating the corns while giving advice on how to take the load off and get him back on his feet naturally.

That last one on the small toe looked painful.. this guy really needed to get this done. Poor guy.
You're really good at talking to distract the patient!
Curious as to what's the root cause of this callus? Presumably it has something to do with improper foot function or biomechanics i.e. pinky toe is not correctly aligned or sufficiently strong => rolls over, callus builds up, gets inflamed? Is it possible to correct this with exercise / footwear /orthotics / aids like CorrectToes, vs. surgery? To me, it always seems better to try to treat the root cause and find preventative solutions where possible, and opting for surgery only as a last resort? (I have been experiencing a similar issue due to ski boots - likely since they're too narrow leading to inflammation - but also feel there's a biomechanical element to my issues, as I've only got the issue on one foot).

His job should pay for this since they have to wear steel toe boots.
Doesn’t seem to remove the core of the corn.
Man he’s giving this guy third degree.
OMG!!! I GET SO SCARED ABOUT THAT BLADE.
Wow, Im in Los Angeles but my insurance is out of Torrance to bad i can visit you.
why didn't you dig out the corn?
He never does. Seems like surgery is what he pushes
I wondered the same thing. All the other foot doctors on UA-cam dig out the corn to help get rid of it.
Love your videos doc but get that camera closer!

Yep, I’m on my feet all day, five plus miles in a shift, and my feet are beat to hell. I’ve got two painful corns that are side by side between the first and second toes, and they smash against eachother all day long. I need to get them treated, but I doubt it’s considered essential. Get me an Exacto knife
I have this sh1t on my foot caused by heavy safety shoes. There's nothing safety about wearing a such shoes. My foot and second toe are swollen.

Miriam Gonzalez that's not as easy as it sounds. They are very expensive and harder to find.
