I was there! Hurricane 2006. What a great festival! When I remember right, we had prime Mando Diao and The Strokes directly after The Hives on the same stage. What an amazing evening!
I usually hate live tracks, but I stumbled on this one and I am currently looking online for tickets to The Hives when they come to town. They put on an awesome show.
Wesome show! I've been in a lot of concerts, unfortunately never been into a The hives' concert, and just by seeing this I regret hard about never having gone into one of their concerts. These guys are awesome live.
When they came to my city (portland) for that tour they actually split off from maroon 5 and had a solo gig at a venue. best part is that last week i found the ticket stub in an old wallet and saw that the show only cost 12.00 opposed to the 40.00 i would have had to pay for the nose bleed section if they played with maroon 5. Not only was it the best show i've been to, but it was also one of the cheapest.
@SaucisseMerguez I think it's cool that some bands like to interact with their audience though. I saw The Cure once in LA (not saying they suck or anything... I think they are great) and they don't even say a word to their audience. The only thing I heard Robert say is "that was an old song... this one is a new song" through out a 2:45 minute concert. They played a lot of songs though. I saw The HIves and they are energetic and kickass.
4:18 haha! dude, pelle's little chuckle after the "do what i please gona spread the disease" is sOO funny. greatest laugh. and when he says "say thanks" at the end. i love how hes so fucking egotistical it brings a lot to their character. WORSHIP HIVES
Every human should see this performance. This is how music should be preformed live. Brilliant.
people like you make the youtube world go round.
it makes my day when i get nice replies

best live show ever.
even if the songs are simple, it's obvious that they practice mercilessly to make everything sounding immaculate.

One of the best bands live!!! Saw The Hives open up for this band in LA, and they should have headlined! They blew them out of the stage!!!

@sleazypig To be fair, Sweden also gave us Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Gluecifer, In Flames and Soilwork. That more than makes up for Abba.

They were the best gig on that festival although there were a lot of very good bands (Manu Chao, Stokes, Apocalyptica and a lot of good german bands)!
@SaucisseMerguez

WORSHIP HIVES
"The best live band in the world"
The Hives music isn't soft, it's sharp and hi-fi. They use hiwatt amps which gives it that classic British rock sound.
Hahahaha xD 'freeze' was awesome ;) love this band...
@95scary imho it is art to make simple song with a message and groove and feeling that everyone catches it
rock it!
wow really nice freeze!!!
The freeze was fucking awesome.
I think mick jagger is his idol or something because in main offender he sounds A LOT like mick jagger and he's doing the jagger strut!
Awesome :D
one of the few times they anounce hate to say i told you so
WOOO!!! HIVES 4 LIFE
@Eroos94 Its a Phaser, with a bit of reverb and delay,
when he drops the guitar at 5:23 it sounds like the guitar hero noise hahaha
the hives are a real atomic bomb on stage!
dat video was omgwtf so sweet
i wanna be in that crowd!
Not only a great band, but they're also so sexy! ^^
agree!
thats how a festival should be
SWEET!
rock n' roll baby
This is poetry dammit..
@jjenkins134 Hi dude, I play this song and I use a phaser and it sounds great.
Sau Geil!!!

Pelle Almqvist's accent is EPIC. :D
And which bastard threw a football at him? I'll find them and kick their ass....haha
The freeze was VERY impressive....but Dr.Destruction.... CRANK UP YOUR BASS! WE NEED BASS!

@MrTorbiarz it's the bass players stage name!
LOL - Great!
ARE THE HIVES THE ONLY ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD WHO DO THE FREEZE ON STAGE? :) ITS COOL
Biffy Clyro
Nope
3:25 they throw something at the singer LOL
yeah, they do sound like that band a little!
haha...COOL!!!
scandivaniantasticarrrrrr
@Gunnerkelly This is real music...
if you check up the word "energy" in a dictionary it should say "Howlin' Pelle on stage".
Few bands make me more proud of being swedish.
@strokers12345y have you ever seen "The Beatsteaks" ?
4:18 LOL xD
SUPER MARIO IS AWESOME!
@sleazypig The Hives and Ikea best things outta sweden :D
@strokers12345y And guitarists (you know who) looks like Fred from The Flinstones
@SuperPekka arent Royal Republic and Mando Diao swedish too?
the bass player looks like super mario
1:28 EPIC!
@VicRattlehead79 I think they should be in between, a bit of talking, but not too much ;)
@ShredableGuitar you barely even see the crowd in this video. moreover you only see the rows in the middle... gotta be there to judge.
@SuperPekka Would not it be adequate to minimize the usage of heterogeneous termini?
@nrl1987 He is Swedish, so that kinda helps.
Pelle Almqvist is the king of the world!
3:24 HEADSHOT!
You can see that Pelle is influenced by some specific rock artists, some moves are just so classic.
guess you didn't see much live performances before
3:24 Because I wanna!
@ThePhoneBook123ABC And the guitarists looks like Fred from The Flinstones
3:24 a ball xD hahahahahah
