"You want some cheese to go with that whine" LOL. That's just the way it is on the East Coast in the winter-time. You'll have to wake up earlier. Did you check the fuses? for the no turn signals? The speedometer cable end probably popped out of the gauge cluster is my guess. ( I grew up in Connecticut, so that's why I know how cold it can get in the winter time). It's pronounced Bahh Haboahh LOL
Watching Eric on the ice knowing he has fallen so many times makes you pause for a second and see the tailbone incident all over again
I can’t stop farting.
My nose always gets cold. one of the good thing about Covid was I learned that cotton double layer masks to keep the nose warm. Suggest you get a heated mattress pad. They are safe to lay on and will not shut off. Heated blankets are not supposed to have anything on top of them.
Did you read the directions for the electric blanket? Other UA-camrs didn’t and were clueless that the turn off time could be changed. I realize that this varies by product.
I can only imagine how much time it takes to setup those incredible drone shots of the van driving down the road, especially the one on the bridge! I love it
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this! The view was amazing, but I couldn't help also marveling at what must have been done behind the scenes to accomplish the shot.
I'm too skint to go and do anything so I'm enjoying very much living vicariously through these 😁
How to fix the speedometer is to kick one of the front wheel on the driver side hard and I have done that few times.

I’m glad you had fun and made it out alive!! I was born in a little town called Gray!! But have moved and lived in, Damrascotta, Wiscassett Booth bay Harbor!! I moved south when I became 18, not my choice.. To Florida have lived in Miami for over 40 years. Then moved to Ft. Myers area. I miss Maine so much!! I hate Hurricanes!!

I was thinking the same thing - at least there aren't the crowds!!! Mainers really come out in the off season, more room at the bar! I'm glad you got a lobster roll, that one looked great, and they are not all that expensive. The snow squall at the end coming back through Portland seemed so apropos!!! Come back again and do a meet up group at the Flight Deck!!!

Omg you guys visited Acadia in December without winter jackets or gloves 😱 u brave souls. Jordan’s pond loop and Gorham trail are the best parts of Acadia IMO

new to the channel, but wanted to say, there are vanagons that have diesel or gas heaters installed and those work well. maybe try to renting one of those?
Whoopie pies are something my family has been making since I was little but we called them "Gob" but I have no idea why! I've had good and bad store bought ones because some use frosting and some use a proper tasty filling.
I think forgot to tell you in Bali that I also went to the Price in Right and my best friend at the time won the showcase Showdown!

Winter camping in a van or trailer can be super fun but you definitely need to prepare for it specifically, including winter upgrades to the vehicle. Don't give up on it! Try it again another time with a proper setup! 😂
We have lived in Maine and loved it, the people and everything. Had to laugh about the sun going down about 3:30-4 in the afternoon. 5/6 hours of daylight in the winter is tough but we loved our time there.
We used to live in Maine, near the Schoodic section of Acadia. I was a glutton for cold weather camping in Maine, Michigan and Washington. Wife wanted no part of that. I loved the area, but today we live in Florida.
Sadly, we'll be siding with your wife on this one...winter van camping is about as cold as we'd like to get 😆
Just so you know, Living the Van life did a test where he slept in the winter with his pop top up. His buddy who also has a westy slept with his top down, and they were the same temperature. Unfortunately the westy tops don't use that much pressure to seal, so they don't keep heat in that well either way.

Not sure why they are surprised by the cold. It is winter in Maine. A quick look at the weather would have cleared that up.

Got to love Maine, have friends and family who live in there. Whoopi pies! The best. Maine can get so cold, that a car’s cloth upholstery can get crunchy. Hope you got to see some moose in Arcadia. Another trick to “winter camping” keep your clothes under the covers with you over night. By the way, in the summer you can buy lobsters at gas stations. As for $35 for a lobster roll, wow, that’s inflation priced.
Yay you went to the VW van workshop. Bern there a couple times. Have you gone back to Chuck Woolerie and Bob Eubanks days to find where whoopie pies or whoopie came first?
We have Warm Wood Heat. Also water power and sewerage dump available.
When you get to PA, be sure to visit PA Dutch Country and try OUR whoopie pies! 😉 And wow, $35 for a lobster roll!!! My sister's family lives in the Boston area. Years ago I was visiting them and got a lobster roll combo meal at the local McDonalds, and it wasn't much more than any other combo...

Maine is so beautiful! But was it intentional to be in the NorthEast in December? I was feeling cold just watching this from the comfort of my living room! Was hoping you guys would visit a lighthouse, but at least you got the lobster. Nice!! Now go get warm!

My family and I just traveled on that same Maine coast route (from Florida) in November to see my mom in Blue Hill! Wish I had known you were going, because you could have stayed the night in her 191 yr. old farm house on the coast, very close to Bar Harbor! You two were troopers, braving that cold!!!💗

lol a bit of a faux-pas to go to an Irish pub for some Guinness when Maine actually has one of the best dry stouts in the world, Cadillac Mountain Stout, brewed right there in Bar Harbor. Regarding the lobster, Maine lobster is actually much more expensive than Canadian lobster. So if you went to New Brunswick or Nova Scotia for the same lobster roll, it'd be more like 12 $ =) Too bad you didn't get to drive up Cadillac Mountain, but yeah your vehicle might not have made it.
In the UK at the moment sunrise is after 8am and sunset is before 4pm. Mind you, Cecilia Blomdahl (youtube.com/@CeciliaBlomdahl) lives in Svalbard where they have about 3 months of polar night with no daylight. As for the local temperature....

OMG Nearly froze to death in a Westfalia at Sioux St.Marie, Ont years ago. They're fun to camp in, especially with the roof in summer, but to go uphill and stay warm... Not so much.... Plus I knew several that caught fire from their gas heaters. Carry on heading back to New Brunswick. They have a chocolate factory right there in St. Stephen at the border with Maine, plus you pay half that for a lobster roll :)

ireland actually wanted northern ireland to be part of eire but the protestants didnt want to be in eire and they held a lot of the power in the north over catholics who resisted. why london wanted the whole of northern ireland is not clear to me but i suppose the protestants wanted to be protected. thank god the fighting is over but its a wound that hasnt totally healed even after the good friday agreement.

Lobster rolls have really inflated in the last 5 years. I remember them being like $15-20 or even less. It's not really worth it now unless you have never tried it.

Welcome to the north! Now you know why northerners that can go south in the winter. Also, no one except the most rugged boy scouts camp in the north in the winter.
Don't know why you would be camping in the most northern part of the us when you could be down south.
No one should be camping in the pure snowy winter… it could snow at any time. Do you know Bar Harbor is really just a touristy area you should go to some of the more remote areas of maine

I don't really know where y'all originated, but it clearly isn't a very cold climate. The saying goes: there is no such thing as cold weather, just inappropriate clothing. Get proper gear and you will have more time to enjoy yourselves.
