Fill the bottom of the glass with apple cider vinegar and dish soap.
Flies love the smell of vinegar and normally that would be enough, but for an extra evil kick add the dish soap. When it come in contact with their exoskeleton it forces their breathing pores open.
Imagine taking a large breath of air and being unable to stop sucking in air.
As for “letting them go”………..no, no I don’t think I will.

I read this online somewhere, so we tried it with four "traps" around the house. They didn't catch a single gnat after the "traps" were set up for three days.
@@obsoletevalues6209 I used open bowls for easier access for the gnat.
I also placed the traps close to where they were getting in so they would immediately go for the traps.
It’s also important for you put up any food or trash they might want.
These are simple home remedies that can help with treating an early gnat infestation, anything more serious and I’d recommend looking for an affordable and trusted fumigator.

Make the hole smaller
Make sure the funnel goes deep enough so that once they're inside they end up flying around the sides of the jar and basically have to dig back down into the bottom of the jar to get back up into the hole and out again.

Once the trap is full, you spray the paper with hairspray and light it on fire. Once they're in my jar, they're done.

You could take them outside and release them, but I prefer a different method. Fill the jar with isopropyl alcohol.

I was going crazy even the fly electric zapper didnt work this time. Maybe they upped the strength and not that sensitive to fruit flies but it shocked the heck out of me. Yeah, fruit flies are really cute, you should do one for common house flies, but this time don't let em out.. let them in the trap, to suffer, to know they're trapped and to acknowledge how many lives their species has taken, spreading diseases and even putting larvae on alive animals so they're eaten alive. House flies deserve the worst of the treatment.

I love how I needed to make a few versions of the cone before I had a decent one and than tape and tape and tape and tape the paper to the kid before those darn flies were getting out the cup.

Get a bowl, put a little dishwashing liquid in it and add apple cider vinegar. Leave it open and all of the flies will go into it and down. I did it and it worked.

if you put them in the fridge for a bit, they fall asleep and it's easy to move them to a smaller jar to feed your reptiles or jumping spider!

Because the hole is small, and they're immersed in the scent they like. They can find the hole if they get to the bottom of the funnel, a few get out, but the majority stay😃

Thanks for the cone tip tho, I’ve been using cellophane but not sure if they are able to get out, might try the cone in the empty wine bottle and see how that works 😉

Gnats actually fly to your ears when you exhale by mouth. And I got a cute lil gnat stuck on my painting until I killed it from ecosystems. Cause I accidentally let it escape, I killed it instantly before I exhaled.
Maybe that's what's in my ear! Those little bastards are in my bedroom flying around near my face. I developed an ear infection overnight..feels like something is crawling in my ear! Would they survive in my ear canal? I'm on antibiotics steroid ear drops!!!😳🙄🤪
@@jeanrita4618 You need to contact an expert professional to get it out, or use olive oil, cooking oil, or baby oil to get it out. Tilt ur head to the other ear, the opposite of which of which ear ur insect is in, then carefully put any of the 3 oils in ur ear, make sure it dosent go in ur eardrum or it goes worse.

Works great with just apple cider vinegar too. (and the slightest drop of soap, to allow them to drown, because otherwise they'll just float on top of the water and won't die.)

If you’re not dealing with fruit gnats, then instead of fruit, a water, salt and vinegar mixture works perfectly
