I've been fan since the early 70s and Woodson's comment on Sr Day last year in which he said critical fans are not "true fans" really bothered me ... that really, really got under my skin. That comment was not only divisive, but also completely unnecessary.
Woodson should have been fired and got Dusty.. I said all yr long that it wouldn't matter how much talent they got.. Woodson is the problem..has been and still is
Woodson can’t recruit, can’t coach, and can’t put together a team via the portal so what value does he add at this point? The players and coaches look absolutely uninspired and should be embarrassed! Painful to watch…
Woodson is the problem and needs fired, he should have been fired last year after his BS true fan comment and dismissal season!!! The hump this “ball club” needs to get over IS WOODSON!!!
Coach was spot on about the coaching issues are not only Woodson but also the assistants. They seem to always be sitting on their hands during the game. Why are they not up talking to players that get subbed out because of mistakes? It seems like they coach through the preparation but not through to games end.
I use to move stuff around to watch games. Let my season tickets go this year. Didn’t even watch the game as this is the definition of insanity. Keep doing the same over and over and hope to get a different result.
Couple years ago when TJD was a Jr, Marshall came in here with coach Dan D'Antoni running that "5-out" offense ... And this loss here today to L'ville has now opened my mind a bit about whether IU really needs to get a big name coach in here ... Recruiting for a "5-out" scheme strikes me as more practical then trying to recruit these 5-Star prospects ... It seems you don't really need 5-star guys to make that 5-out scheme work ...
The loss to CHCKY was a wake-up call for Indiana-a stark reminder that raw talent and tradition alone cannot sustain success. The team's performance lacked cohesion, urgency, and the strategic adjustments needed to counter CHCKY's relentless execution. Coach, the fanbase knows your passion and vision, but now is the moment to reassess, recalibrate, and reignite the fire. Indiana basketball deserves leadership that inspires resilience, learns from adversity, and channels it into transformative growth. The defeat is painful, but it must be the catalyst for a stronger, sharper, and more determined Hoosier squad moving forward.
Agree with all your opening comments guys....this is on the coaching staff in prepartion and letting the players know what they are doing on the floor "ain't cuttin" it.
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
This was not supposed to happen to this team ... In the late 70s, one of Woodson's teams got beat by 50 at MINN, and I cannot remember a loss since then that was as humiliating as this. Late in the game we were down 38 pts ... we have a roster of stationary players with big heavy legs as that "5-out" offense really exposed us ... do you think AD Dolson and PRES Whitten are content to keep throwing big NIL backs at portal transfers? ... I do not! ... the good news is that this game really gets them thinking about getting Woodson out of here ... this is a "B-" "C+" team ... looks like we go 12-8 in B10 with maybe a 50/50 shot at the Sweet-16, which is unacceptable! A COUPLE MORE OBSERVATIONS: 1) Disappointed that we did not see Newton in this game ... why Cupps, but not Newton? 2) We're an easy team to prep for! ... last year after the loss to UConn, Hurley said they knew what IU was going to do ...
When you say “team” we’re talking more program right? And not roster, bc the roster and talent are obviously great. Woody doesn’t have an effective “blueprint” for 2025 NCAA basketball
Just so sad and uninspiring. This season was starting with the hope that Woodson was changing some things. We haven’t seen it really thus far and I have no faith that CMW is capable of making the necessary changes to his current “blueprint” for the IUMBB program.
49:01 I don’t think they spent a week of preparation, for Louisville, unfortunately. I think they spent more time focused on Gonzaga and overlooked Louisville completely.
BS to what coach said. THE problem is they have deficiencies that do not get improved. Last season, Mbako was a big deficiency on D. That never improved the whole season. Substitutions were used instead. Last season 3pt shooting was terrible and it never improved the whole season, they tried to compensate by pounding it into the paint to the bigs. Last season Gabe Cupps was a non-shooting player, and that never improved the whole season. This season, lack of assists on made baskets has been a consistent problem, not getting any better. Turnovers have been consistently too high, 23 of them against UofL leading to 30 points by them. Giving up Off rebounds has been a consisent problem this season, does not appear to be improving. Woody consistently calls out these things, says 'the guys' have to get better, but then they don't. That's on the coaches, because the basketball world I live in, when 'the guys' have glaring deficiencies that are causing losses and near losses, if those deficiencies do not improve, 'the guys' are on the bench and the 'new guys' get their chance to prove they can do better. Alford was benched a few times in his time at IU, because he had the deficiency of not playing hard enough on D. By his junior year he was consistently playing hard on D. Has to be that way. And it's not limited to game minutes players. If a practice player is not playing hard enough to force game minute players to consistently improve their games, then that guy is off the team and he is replaced by a walk-on who will practice hard enough. Even game minutes players, if their play is not helping the team, even worse if it is hurting the team, they need to hit the bench until they improve, and if they don't practice hard enough to improve, then they need to transfer out. Right now, Goode and Galloway need to be benched, because 30+ minutes a game between them and averaging about 3 points between them, that is hurting the team. Mbako and Reneau are hurting the team being weak on D and especially on the defensive glass, most of the giving up too many Off rebounds is on them.
Mike Woodson is not the man to lead Indiana basketball. Brace yourself Hoosier fans as there may be some more major disappointments awaiting in the next two Bahama games.
Stone age basketball, no organization. Etc. Woodson is just bad. We’re just marking time until he’s gone. Can’t believe you guys have to talk about this team until March. They are horrible to watch.
Another failed NBA Coach at their Alma Mater again! Woody is just surviving due to his mediocre record at this time. If he doesn't get his act together, meaning on Thursday, then he will be fired along with his entire staff! Question is when?
True Kenny Payne was ours at Louisville and that dude is worst than MW..KP should be in jail bc hes stealing money with the buyout and had 9 wins in 2years
I AM TRULY GIANT IU BASKETBALL FAN!!! BEEN 1 SINCE 1979, REMEMBER WATCHING IU BEAT PURDUE FOR THE NIT CHAMPIONSHIP!!! THAT BEING SAID, I WENT TO IU BLOOMINGTON , AND SO DID MY DAD. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE UPS AND DOWNS, KNOWN GUYS WHO PLAYED FOR COACH KNIGHT, AND I AM TRULY SURE THAT THIS NOT GETTING THE JOB DONE, WORTHY OF THE JERSEY FOR OLD IU!!! THESE KIDS ARE SPOILED ROTTEN, AND HAVE ZERO LOYALTY TO THE UNIVERSITY PAYING THEIR BILLS!!!
What makes people think that iu is gonna turn things around this year, if it didnt for the last 3 years its not going to. They remind me of 5th graders out on the playground. Whoever has the ball just shoot it,if you miss oh well, it dont matter anyway, oooops, i just threw it away, it dosent count, were just haveing fun. The last few years of the same shit makes iu look like they have a black eye, a joke.
Offensively Indiana doesn’t seem to have a base offense. Most if not all teams have some default offense. 5 out motion 4 out motion flex Princeton pick and roll /dho motion. Indiana seems to run slowly called and developed set plays. The aggressive man/ pressure teams just deny the hell out of Indiana and turn them over. Most teams pressure release offense comes out of their base offense. Indiana doesn’t have a base offense so they don’t have a pressure release offense either
We talk a lot about offense and 3 point attempts but the real issue is defense. It has bee been the defense the whole time. They look lazy on defense and slow on defense. The switching is terrible. You 1-5 switch your true center on a point guard versus a 5 out spread point guard dominated offense is ridiculous the real issue is they switch poorly out of laziness and then get individually tied and break down the whole defense then the other team gets layups and and threes and second shots the 5 out teams like Iowa who play fast and get a lot of ball movement and player movement have always killed Indiana. The lazy switching gets them killed
They look like a bunch of duded getting paid not caring about college basketball. IU is just a place fir dudes to go to the NBA. The NBA is a dying legue and the hoosiers emcapulate that in basketball now. Good job woodson
CMW said “I’ll do whatever I have to in order to win this game”. Well that’s the fight that our coach has I guess Jared… Woody took them out last night smoking cigars…
I feel ya pain...we couldn't wait to get rid of Kenny payne that coach Louisville and won 9 games in 2years and he is still gettin paid with the buyout, kp should be in jail for stealing money
Woodson is the problem, there's no getting around it. He has to go.

Same ole IU basketball.
We are the basketball version of Nebraska football.
I've had that same thought also - well said.
I would buy and wear that on a T shirt.

We need a coaching change asap
Great points Ryan. It was Embarrassing and it has to change NOW!!

Woodson not the guy

Absolutely pathetic. Woodson must be fired- but not ganna happen

The media in the Woodson press conferences need to pepper him with questions of how can you win with this style of play.

Woodson could not win with a $100 million roster!! I yearn for the days when IU achieves more with less because of elite coaching!!
@@rynefulton8410 Good point, but I was just speaking in generalities.
Woodson has to go. He cannot coach modern basketball.
Just so sad and uninspiring. This season was starting with the hope that Woodson was changing some things. We haven’t seen it really thus far and I have no faith that CMW is capable of making the necessary changes to his current “blueprint” for the IUMBB program.

Absolutely NO excuse for lack of effort. Bench 'em.

Great coaches change a program immediately. Good coaches win the games they should win. Bad coaches do neither.
This guy Woodson, is not my kind of guy.
Keep wishing Jerod for better days with Woody as the coach. It ain't happening until he is gone!
Absolutely. Woodson is too mired in his arrogance of greatness to change his failed style approach to college basketball coaching.
They were horrible!!!!

Whoa, when they play this bad they need to give their NIL money back.
What happens against Gonzaga tomorrow?
Win
You sing this song every year. Here's a good bet. They will blown out tomorrow. Call fanduel.

It’s the coach!
Louisville is back . They were up 40 until then put their scrubs in lol
First year I haven't watched a game in many years. I'll just have a listen here instead, briefly. Woody doesn't get i, he's outmatched and outdated
Like I said Mike Wilson should not be the coach you should have been fired last year he should be gone
At least they’re not paying Woodson much money
Worst coach ever
No no no Kenny Payne is the worst in sports, comin from a Louisville fan.
