But then if you honestly think about it, the original MBV track **SOUNDS** like an orchestra tuning up anyway - albeit one that is underwater...hence the colossal waves of distortion. It's a fucking genius contrivance for sure and I think Kevin Shields did that deliberately to induce feelings of seasickness in the listener - especially when played loud. This beautiful rendition strips it down to reveal the clarity of the arrangement - and it is obvious how simple the melody actually is. MBV truly are masters of deception. :)
Nice, makes you realise the musicality of the original but then also what MBV was doing sonically to create all those bends up and down. It all blends together
I am blown away, this just feels like listening to the song for the first time again
Great job!!!!
Shit, I've got chills. This is one of the most magical covers I've ever heard. Makes you appreciate the fantastic compositions of Kevin Shields. Makes me want to hear the entire album covered orchestrally ❤️
This should have 100M views
holy fucking wow.
MBV covers really make me realize(heh...get it?) how utterly creative the compositions really are. Sometimes(get it...??) the songs get buried in production. Of course, that works entirely perfect for MBV...but it's nice to sometimes appreciate the songwriting underneath it all.
Exactly. I always look up covers because of this. Many of our favorite modern musicians have created masterpieces that can stand beside the works of Classical artists of the past.
not to talk down on MBV, but IIRC their compositions are mostly just very simple chords
This takes me somewhere to magical, dreamy forest fantasy...
I'm crying. This is beautiful.
Really amazed by the version
Works so good this way
Very beautiful love song.
This made my decade!
IM NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING
Mind blown...
Incredible!!
Completely BRILLIANT
Marvelous. I'm impressed, I'm speechless. Brilliant cover
Brilliant cover.
HOLY SHIT ALMIGHTY...amazing piece of music
Wow! ❤
I love My Bloody Valentine but this cover takes the cake. Maybe Kevin Shields will find a way to work her into the next album.
Yes, this is gorgeous.
Why MBV covers are SO amazing?
Daniel Marques yeah I'm starting to notice this too
It's the quality of the songwriting
It’s these types of covers when you realize that the songs underneath the wonderful effects of Loveless are still absolute masterpieces on their own in their more ‘naked’ forms
This is wonderful
this is just mindblowingly amazing
Wow! Mesmerizing
This is gorgeous
WOW!!
Wow
basically in tears, then at the end the girl has to finish eating her banana and I laugh hysterically for some reason
went this long into the comments section just looking for someone who hasn't loose that detail
good cover. good distraction while waiting for the new album.
Браво!
holy fuck this is beautiful!
woo
Holy fuck
I like to think that the original intent of loveless was making the most beautiful song and then completely destroy it with the noise
Kiss
Your fear
Your red button
Falls from my mouth
Slip
Your dress
Over your head
It's been so long
Move
On top
Because that way
You touch her too
Turn
Your head
Come back again
To here knows when

This is, euphoria.
The CDs are already pressed, so unlikely!
I might be pinning for a reverbed out guitar...
sidenote: banana girl
Very nice song, very nicely done. Too bad the strings can't stay on pitch at the end.
They hit all the right notes. How sad.
her and Rozz Williams would have been great
but not a patch on MBV and Belinda Butcher's vocals
This is better than the new album :|
You can't touch MBV, nice try though.
Interesting idea and ambitious to attempt but completely misses the point of what that song actually is..... It's utter chaos.... Expressed as beautiful noise. It's not delicate precious classical piano tinklings and horns and strings.
It's crashing waves of noise as music..... Uncoverable in that context.
The first time I heard it when this album was first released in 1991 I thought my CD player was broken.
Kudos for at least listening to the right music and attempting this but it fails because some of the overtones do not match the tones that you are actually playing and thus it's like a reinterpretation of say a Bach composition where you just change specific notes to your liking throughout the piece. And this makes it a different piece which makes it a different effect on the ears.
The beauty of the original piece is completely missed here because it's not beautiful.. ..it's frightening.
Beautiful. "Featuring a smaller orchestra than the album version." Brilliant.
