Paying for a store and then ebay blocking those paid listings sounds ILLEGAL. If you put an ad in the newspaper or magazine and they charge you, then purposely leave your ad out of the publication, thats fraud 🤷♀️ Also, I had my first return in about 7 years. The item was ran over and broken by USPS. Literal tire track over the tiny package. The buyer started a return which I immediately accepted. It took several days for them to throw it in the mail, then nearly 2 weeks to get back to me. I was not allowed to make any offers and I did not make ANY sales in that time. However, within TWO HOURS of my refunding the buyer, I had available offers and began making sales again. So for an item that was broken in the mail and returned, I was punished for 3 entire weeks. 25 years of 100% positive feedback, this is how I was treated. Abysmal.
in instances like that I just refund the buyer and say keep the item. I don't want an item back after I ship it especially if it's broken. in the instances of returns do you wait to refund the buyer until you physically get it back. if so maybe that is the hold up the algorithm punishes sellers for. i've never noticed anything like that but you aren't the first to hint about being punished.

I say it again - I still dont get why someone just doesn't copy ebay's formula right off, almost shamelessly (but eBay deserves it) - and makes a slick looking modern site - doing everything "right". For example fixing all stuff sellers have been asking for for years, not allowing crap like this, they don't even need a feedback system, just keep the stars they have on eBay, for example, and so on. Bad sellers and buyers will get blasted anyway by ppl contacting support, reports etc. Sellers will go there immediately and buyers will follow. I just dont get it why some rich guy, investor or whatever, a "mini-elon musk", doesnt do it. Its like open goal at the moment, an easy opportunity to become a multi millionare. eBay can be crushed so easily at this point, sooo easily. Then they can sit there alone with their shitty-anti seller system and ask themselves what went wrong, id*ots.

eBay doesn’t grant traffic based on STR. The traffic happens organically, as high STR items get more searches. The algo doesn’t “like” either type.
The algo likes good service metrics and sellers who have a good track record of click-thru and conversion within their categories.
If you can succeed in these two areas, you can sell whatever you like.
I literally just said to maria last night if I was younger I would totally do that. I mean...I'm not rich, but I would find a way.
