The altruism line hits me hard. It's still true to this day. So many people do good deeds soley for the hope of a reward.
Of course its free for interpretation; but my take on that line was that it becomes harder to do nice things for someone when it becomes obvious that *they* are keeping track, and quantifying the nice deeds in some way; rather than just taking it all in stride. Not that he was doing the nice things in hope of some reward. But maybe I misunderstood you.
Your observation is on point, mind, some people are nice solely for the same of obliging others to reciprocate. Ugh :D

i remember the first time i heard dis song. when cleaning my boat after sailing i listen a tune coming from somewhere, it was a radio in the garage tuned in who knows what station. anyway my friend told me that he have listen this song in his house before but did not remember the name, it was kite chiefs or smth like that. After weeks of searching in you tube from the lyrics i remembered i got here, and since then its one of my favourite tunes

I hope people realize Paramore's cover was just that. A cover. Not a version. They didn't write it. They didn't release it. I will always prefer Kaiser Chiefs Singing it and I will say Paramore's cover is really good.

Why not just appreciate both...there's fat too much bs comparison everywhere as it is...
Besides KC are a much bigger band therefore far more well known and most people would probably say they prefer a version or only listen to a version by their favourite band or artist etc...or at least one they know & like over a lesser known or more obscure or unknown altogether...as we're all big names and acts at one point until they somehow got a break....but ppl are less likely to give a chance to things like eg music/musicians they're unfamiliar with/unaware of as the fact they've never seen or heard of assuming (in a supposition sense) they're inferior or unproven and they're therefore (at least to them must be) unworthy or something...which is the unfortunate truth and state if the world and it always has always will be lol

Why are people comparing an original (finished) version with drums and stuff, to an acoustic cover done in one take? I don't see any way to say one version is better - I see them as two different songs with the same melody and lyrics, respectively.
