- How to change the gearbox oil / fluid with a manual transmission with a Hyundai Elantra model year 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.
Watched your video. Got under my car. Where is drain plug? Found it. What a beech getting the filler hole nut off. Had to kick it with a wrench. Went to Dealership got 3 quarts for only 28.00.. all went well because of your video thanks
Awesome advises. Best so far I could find online. Thank you.
Thanks, helped a lot
Glad to hear!
My Kia Cerato 1.6M 5-sp same identical plc as your Hyundai Elantra. Thx bro!
Thank you very much
Thank you!
Thank you
Here's a tip. I have a 2007 hyundai Elantra. I figure it's better to just wait until the transmission fluid gets low and then add more through the red A/T dipstick hole with a skinny funnel then you can check the level by following the owner manual for the car and (siphon "remove") fluid with a skinny tube or add fluid as necessary and do it all through the dipstick hole. This is what I did and it worked. Just make sure you are exactly even with the HOT line on the dipstick.
Yes, that would work with an automatic transmission.
Hi, Good Video. Very Clear. I have an i30, on top of the gearbox there is a breather. It looks oily. If I want to remove it to wash, does it unscrew or are they a push fit. Or should i leave it in place and wash with a small amount of meths (before i change the oil in the gear box)?
I replaced the master cylinder on my car but now it wont catch first gear. What do u think cld be the problem?
Should I just fill it up until it comes out of the input whole to know its full
What is the size of drain and fill plug washers?
Is there a filter that needs to be changed?
Son-in-law's 2008 Hyundai Elantra is having loud whirring noise when in gear. I will try the fluid change tomorrow. How is your Hyundai manual transmission doing, so far?
Hi there, can I use Castrol 85w-90 GL4? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It's a good question and I was asking the same when I did my oil change, because the 'official' oil is quite expensive. The answers I received were all different, so I can't really give you a concrete reply. My advice (to play it safe) would be to invest in the same RedLine MT-85 oil I used. It's more expensive, but it's exactly what Hyundai recommend. I hope that helps.
Did you reuse the washers or replace with new?
I reuse them.
