Sailing Tangaroa 'Our Turquoise Catamaran'
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- Tangaroa gets a new turquoise paint job, inspired by the turquoise waters we will be sailing through as well as two tribal orca's painted on the bows (Tangaroa is a polynesian Catamaran). Orcas are known to some tribes as guardians of the sea, protecting the sea people. Plus fresh anti fowl and new trampolines that we hand weave ourselves Tanga is looking fresh and sexy!
Time to set sail NORTH!

Hey There great job on the hull repaint she looks fantastic love the logo nice choice, sunny skies and fair winds👍
Hey great paint job. We're in Geraldton if you guys need some fast wifi and kegged homebrew, it's quite tasty. I'd love for you both to come around and help me convince my mrs that we should get a yacht and meet my family.
G'day guys Tangaroa looks good in her new colour couldn't believe the worm damage to your rudders ,that was amazing how much the little buggers had eaten ,cant wait till your next post until then hope you have fair winds & smooth seas cheers Andy from the small boat club of S.A.
Boat Looks Awesome great colour choice.Enjoy and Safe Travels Guys.Look forward to more vid's
I..LOVE..THE..PAINT!!
Wow! Stunning job on the painting! Looks lovely!
beautiful artwork on your boat......you two are so handy with all you do....
I like your boat but it's not practical where I live in Washington State, USA. It rains a lot here. I guess I would need a larger deck cabin but other than that, it's a great design when your in the tropics with little rain. Man, you two have plenty of great deck space. I love that.
U did an awesome job in such a short time! She looks beautifull.
Nice video. Boat is looking great guys. Safe travels.
Really Nice paintjob. Like that collar.
Fantastic paint job!
New subscriber her, just call me Ed, and enjoyed seeing your boat up on the hard in preparation for your trip North. Looks kind of tight down below but I am sure it is comfortable for just the two of you. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming adventures!
Hey guys ⛵️ Looks EPIC !!!

Welcome to Western Australia. If you can sail the WA Coast. You can sail anywhere.
Love your approach to small footprint sailing with big experiences. Can you tell me what type of line you used for the nets? Wishing you fair winds. Nigel
Just 6 mm double braided mate
Nice one!
Great job on the touch ups and reno's guys, she's (does Tangaroa have a sex ?) looking pretty shmick. Love the logo.
A few questions if ok ?
1. How much weight do you reckon you have on Tangaroa, as in anything you've added to the boat, personal items, food, clothes, lifes necessities ?
2. If you had the choice to modify her, what would be your top 3 mods ?
3. Would your drone have been a useful tool for checking the mast clearance under the bridge given that the height of a mast skews perspective ?
Hannah, love your sense of artistry. In your videography, editing and choice of sound tracks (Very fitting, and something a lot of youtubers frag up) you bring things together so well. I know people complain about the short length sometimes, but why over tell a story ? You got it down pat girl :-)
4. Who were the duo and name of the song beginning at 02:45 ?
James, I love the dedication and work you put into Tangaroa. And your always smiling at times when I would just love to kick the crap out of something. You rock dude, very Zen. (or is that just Hannahs careful editing ?) lol
Keep up the good work you two, great to see someone taking on James Wharrams precepts of keeping it simple, fun and rolling with the blows that life chucks at us.
Hugz
Mick
mick VR hello mate thanks for taking the time to write that.
You read us like a book haha.
Ok so
1. Weight She (tanga) is supposedly 3 and half tonne dry. We wouldn't have a clue how much she weighs but at a guess between 5-6 tonne that's fully loaded fuel water food provisions.
Mods--- deck pod and hard top over helm and more solar apart from that she's great. Oh wait that list could go forever!
That day we went under the bridge you can't tell but it was howling and the water was ripping through I wouldn't have flown drone in those conditions! 😊
Really appreciate the kind comments!!!!! Legend!
I wish I could live on a sailboat
Was it a big expense to pull the boat out and use the dry doc for two days?
Great job guys.
Hi, nice vid. Could I encourage you to get some sort of wind sock for your mic :D if nothing else, try your beanie.
Merv thanks mate! I accidentally turned some clips up way too loud which caused even more distortion and didn't realise until I had uploaded the video, couldn't be bothered changing it hehe shall buy a ,icrophone when I have some extra cash cheers for watching

I don't know if you know, but there is a Wharram FB group facebook.com/groups/1104053236329219/ , I'm sure they won't mind if you post your new videos to the group
Hey guys well done on all your hard work 👍 your videos keep my boyfriend and I motivated while we restore our wharram pahi. Hope we get to meet up and buddy boat someday :) check us out at #savingtafiki much love x
dont raise the waterline! it will sail like a pig if you are overloaded.
Super Wag it wasn't to overload, we are at our max weight and we were getting a scum line above our antifowl. She sails great thanks!
a properly designed and built boat should not have scum forming above its anti-FOUL line if it is at its proper maximum draft. It sounds like your "max weight" is actually describing an overloaded condition. But then again, Im just a naval submarine engineer. I could be mistaken. Cheerio
Super Wag thanks so much for all your concern yew
Where do you put the waterline on a submarine?
