Actually, this palette does appeal to Pat's early customers. The original motherships and kits are comprised of very similar color story. Even the black reminded me of the satin black pigment pat included in her early kits. This is why I was attracted to this palette. It's giving me Motherships 1-3, Metalmorphosis and Dark Starr kits. 🤷🏻♀️ The biggest difference are the greens but I see alot of early pat inspo in this palette.
true! and ironically PMG IS editorial but her palettes have gotten more mainstream in color story. sigh!
Totally agree! I’ve got mothership 2 and I definitely feel the vibes. I love the color story of this palette
I agree!!
This is the green palette I was expecting from Pat! That satin black from original dark star 006 kit is my favorite black in my collection! I don’t see similarities with the black in this palette, but I get your point in terms of experimentation and color stories
I always forget about the earlier Mothership palettes cos PMG has been cranking out pinks for at least two years now 😆 I do see a similar vibe! I see PMG as more of an ethereal/sparklier editorial vibe, vs Isamaya is grungy/b-d-s-m edgy
The ease with which you applied the black was _so_ satisfying to watch. I'm absolutely not interested in this palette in even the slightest but you really do it the most justice.
For real, I watched like - WOW 🤩
So glad you are reviewing this palette! I’m definitely intrigued by it. Don’t like the price point though. Yikes! But it’s so different from what else is being put out. Wouldn’t mind for the palette to not be 3D. I like my palettes to fit into the holders nicely so I can cram more in!
Same. The packaging from this brand honestly reads, "Try Hard" edgy. It's off-putting. Not worth it for me as I'd rather have some beautiful artwork or something that is flat.
@@jennteal5265 agreed, bummed too bc the Byredo packaging is so stunning
@@jennteal5265 totally agree! Bad bitches don’t have to try to show they are bad bitches - you can just tell 😉
i wish brands would keep shit like this in mind. they could easily offer "basic packaging" and "artistic packaging" to please both crowds.
To be fair though, there are those of us out there who are really *into* edgy, dark, and kinky and this speaks to us and we are glad to see some representation. There are soooo many boring palettes out there and many more ordinary... Especially since KVD doesn't even attempt to be edgy anymore, this is for us people who like to live further on the edge.
That's def more interesting than PM right now. 😂
Thanks for the review. I think we were all curious about how this new brand would perform.
I'm still more interested in the Uoma Freedom palette. Kinda similar vibes, but better price, more versatile (everyday to dramatic, more mattes), and less bulky.
That’s a great point! The Uoma Beauty palette definitely has shinier shadows!
Ugh you’re just constantly introducing me to new brands and making me want to buy everything! I agree with comments that this palette is the daring aesthetic that OG Pat McGrath collectors are craving from PMG. Also, I had no interest in Unearthly’s Leather and Lace palette but placed an order as soon as I saw you use Chantilly as a highlight. Been obsessed with that shade since the palette came in the mail!
🤣🙈
The second look you did was delicious. I want this palette. I keep trying to convince myself otherwise but I can’t denyyyyy
Omg! I am so glad you are reviewing this!! It has me sooooo interested! Same with their lip products 😍
I’m definitely intrigued by the different textures this could be really fun….I really enjoyed the DM palette. I definitely felt the same way about the blacks when I originally saw it as well
And the DM palette had multis so I feel like that one was totaly worth it!
@@badtothebrow what does DM stand for?? 🙈
@@charmedbymeghan Danessa Myricks
Excited to hear what you think!
I’ve never tried pat mcgrath bc I feel her shades are more editorial 🤷🏻♀️ I think this palette can definitely fit into day to day routine with the darker shades being liners and the toppers in the inner corners or tapped lightly in the center of the lids for an extremely sheer wash of color. Or the colorful shades can be used lightly on the lower lash line. I think a lot of these shades are flattering on brown eyes too which makes me super excited. If only there was a gorgeous purple/ violet included that would be amazing
Both eye looks came out phenomenal! Thanks for the review!!
I’m literally 7 seconds into this video and once I saw the eye looks I was like damn…I’m gonna end up buying this 😂😅
🤣🤣 I used it yesterday for work and it was so easy to use and it lasted all day!
This palette is so tempting but I can dupe it out and I know I will buy the new mothership. Maybe I will pick it up if there’s a Black Friday sale.
The looks you created are so stunning! Like an awesome makeup ad
I got this palette a couple days ago and can't wait to play with it. I own Byredo's Prismatic large palette and love it! I wanted to try the mascara but it was so expensive I didn't buy it,looking forward to what you think about it.
This makes me want to try Byredo!
omg! I was looking for a review to this brand and I'm so glad that it's you!
❤️❤️
I’d look like I fell in a mud puddle if I tried those looks on myself. You’re beautiful and very talented.
I'm surprised by how much I'm impressed by this palette! The looks were gorgeous!! It's funny the creator is associated with Byredo because when I first saw the palette that is exactly what I thought of! 🤭
I’ve found the blue creme shadow pulls the greens out of the special shades a lot more. Subtle but yeah!
$119??? Pretty but I'd rather spend that on Clionadh or Terra Moons, IMO. Thx for the swatches and beautiful looks, Milly!
😆💯
I agree 💯
The dark black eye is gorg!
Of course those two cool toned shimmers and the cool olive you didn't use are calling me. I've really been vibing with the Darkseid lately. 🤔
From the video I think the black with blue sheen is meant to emulate an eye gloss finish from afar. I would love you to do a comparison with 2 eye swatches of each of the blacks and let us know if that's really an effect or if it was just video lighting.
The first look is beautiful!!
Gorgeous Milly!!!
Thank you!
I hadn’t seen the palette but I am definitely curious to see what you do with it
I had actually decided to not watch reviews on this palette, but there your thumbnail was and I got curious, cause it's you 😊
🥹 I feel so special!
@@badtothebrow Well... you are 😊
I’ve been debating on buying this palette since I saw it release I just may pull the trigger!!!!
08:50 “I honestly don’t feel like these two needed to be in there…” Haha I like your polite honesty : )
Ok, I have to know what brush you were using in the first look with the first shade…I need!
It’s a Rose and ben beauty brush
I haven't even heard about this palette so yay
Thanks for reviewing this because I will say if anything it is interesting. I don't plan on purchasing because of the price and color story. I could make this pallete with what I have in my collection. But your looks were very nice
Thank you!
Do you like the mascara? I haven't seen the video, not sure if you uploaded it or not but I'm very curious
I think it’s funny how your mascara is already sparkly. That happens with me too. My new phone case got so sparkly within a day. 😆
Everything!!!!!
Who makes that angled brush you used initially with the black shadow for the first look?? (and later for smudging, and on the other eye...etc.)
It looks so good!
It's not too big, not too small, looks like it's flatter/more fanned than your standard fluffy angled brushes, but not as tightly packed and tiny as your average angled brush. It looks like it's giving you precision AND blendability.
If any of that made sense at all?
I really want one. In the short peeks I caught of the handle below the ferrule, I thought I saw a wood grain-looking design, possibly the same material used for fake wood laminate flooring. Could it be LH Cosmetics?
Please tell me! (I know this video is 8 months old, but .. y'know. You know your own brushes.)
Or: if anyone else here knows who makes that brush, if it's still available, etcetera?
I just purchased a BNIB box set of this collection, minus the liquid highlighter, off Poshmark. It arrived today. I'm trying to get a sense of it before I go dipping into it, just in case I want to resell it.
Why Poshmark? Isamaya Beauty doesn't ship to Canada, the goofballs. Maybe I'm the goofball because it was frickin' expensive!! More than Danessa's Lightwork IV or a MTHRSHP. In fact, I've purchased 2 MTHRSHIPS, with free shipping and no Customs fees, for around the same, maybe even slightly less!
Stupid me.
However, change CAD into GBP/EUR, or even USD, and that's a pretty major jump in price. Then shipping. The Posher I got it from bought 2 of these sets, one as backup, and said the shipping was *expensive*.
Idk if she had it sent to a friend in The States who then mailed it to her, or if she used a mailing service, or what? Maybe she purchased it across the border, and the shipping part was BS.
I feel like I should have made my initial offer a lot lower, and haggled better. The gorgeous box that everything came in is kinda jacked up.
However, a few ppl already had it in their bundles. My inner 13 year old started throwing a tantrum, causing my Makeup Demon to awaken and chime in, along with the voice of Edward Norton, channelling Tyler Durden, via Chuck Pahlaniuk, who began chanting, "I Am Jack's Total Absence Of Fiscal Responsibility" over and over.
It was too noisy to resist.
Looks great 👏👏👏👏
Thank you
ty for this review!! i felt like there was a solid colour story but half the palette has nearly identical shades... and small nuances aren't enough for it to be worth $115 for me!
Hi Molly.. This palette isn't doing it for me and @119.00 price point.. you have soooo much better 😢.
I do like the second eye look.
What brush was that you used for the black?
$119??? Wow
Any tips on how to achieve that wet black look you did- without having to buy this pallet?
Hannah Louise Poston and Amanda Z have great videos on shadows that have a wet look!
What filter/app did you use for the thumbnail? (Like the fairy filter look that you have on it)
I was so intrigued by this and have been looking for reviews. Thanks! She's the artist behind Byredo's makeup 🤔 I barely use my Byredo palette...but this one looks amazing 👏🏽
aww which one do you have? i reach for Kalahari more than any other palette i own 😅
I love this palette it stays on my vanity it is so inspiring and I will get my money out of it which cant say about most palettes.
That’s awesome!!
Is there a dupe for that violet/blue topper shade? I really want that shade but do not want to buy the entire palette. Any help please.
Devinah Nokomis is a dupe
Please tell!!! Where did you get those earrings???🤗🔥🔥🔥💜🌈💜
They’re very old :(
@@badtothebrow That’s usually the best stuff we have and love!! I just bought a really cute pair earrings on Amazon and never even took out plastic, I can’t find them anywhere. At least they were not to expensive. You have major talent on how you do eyeshadow looks!!💜🌈💜
This palette is very interesting..I like the colors it's different but I don't like too much glitter especially for work..I prefer eyeshadows to be smooth and your right about the other dark color that's suppose to blue..on your eyes it looks black that color should have been more blue cause it seems like there's two black in the palette. I don't know I'm thinking..probably will pass
I’m always thinking that on lip gloss was nose ring😅 sometimes else?
i can’t tell how thin that blue/black formula is but the one in byredo’s kalahari palette really shines against a brighter blue base (like a cream one.) i love that palette bc the formula is thin enough to endlessly layer colors together.
a lot of her byredo palettes were designed to be used ideally with fingers so that may be the case here!
i loooove the byredo kalahari shimmers. they are soft & sophisticated, like that bronze shimmer you tried.
are there any indie brands that have a formula similar to that silky bronze shimmer? 😍
tysm for reviewing this palette. i love what Isamaya created with Byredo. i’m less into this packaging which was my main reason for holding off, but the formula still looks lovely.
Yeah that’s why I used it with my fingers mostly in the first look. They really are so layerable without creating too much texture so the lid looks wrinkley, I do appreciate that! I think Terra Moons has some neutral shadows that are suuuuper smooth and shiny similar to the bronze shade I used.
@@badtothebrow if you happen to remember the shade names i’d love to know! i see TM has a pre-order window and it would be my first time trying 😊
How fun!!! Thanks for introducing me to this brand. The aesthetic is in line with mine, and it was cool to see you do your left eye in a similar style to how I usually do my eye makeup. 🙌🏽🖤
Damnit I really want this palette now. I love layering black shadow with metallic shades on top 🖤 I’ll wait for it to go on sale since there isn’t much hype behind it
Love you Milly!!!!
❤️
Omg omg omg! I want this palette sooooooo bad!!!!! Your eye looks are gorgeous!!!!
If that earring is like a real one the ball will have 2 little dents on either side and you have to squeeze it up into the ring to catch on to the dents. It’s called a Captive Bead Ring or industrial rings. If the ring is open and has 2 beads then those beads screw in. That might help keep it from falling out all the time.
The ball has little bumps on each end, I can get it back in but it’s a pain in the 🍑 because it’s so little and slippery
Love the looks you created, they really fit the brand!
I cannot make up my mind about this first release. In *theory* this is mostly my aesthetic but something about it does not quite hit the mark for me. Palette is definitely something I need to see in person - the textured shades look stunning and I even like blue-black satin shade but I want to *feel* them first. Maybe it is the colourstory that is not selling me but I do love greens and dark metals sooo...(???)
Other items in collection look slightly clunky and a bit cheap, at least online. However,I am interested in future releases for sure.
❤️❤️❤️
Your looks ended out amazing! 😲
If she doesn't wanna tell people how to look , then how about saying that she created makeup to inspire peoples interpretation of themselves in how they wanna look whether that's natural, ethereal sultry or dramatic
I was wondering
I actually thought this was Byredo 😅
Okay well then her mission statement is telling people though what to do
I’d love to see you do more looks with this one! Yours are some of the best I’ve seen
What's the name of the angled eye brush you used? I need it!
