    If you don't have an oven this is an easy solution. Buy a countertop convection oven,, it's a toaster but also a regular oven that you can cook meat, cook a 12 inch rising crust pizza and make brownies or bake.

      Breville Oven AIR. You need this, trust me! It’s an oven, with convection, it has 2 racks to cook, toast, bake, broil, an air fryer, dehydrater, slow cooker, warming, bread proofing, 12” pan pizza, 9x13” casserole, etc. You will NEVER regret this purchase. I haven’t used my Viking gas range in 2 years, bc my Breville is a dream! Treat yourself.

    You have a cute place--bright, spare, clean. Don't let the haters get you down on pricing. I live in LA. You have a great rent. One thing I encourage people new to LA to consider: Rent stabilization. Living in buildings built before 1979 means that your landlord can only raise the rent a specific percentage every year. And this makes a difference in the long run, because new construction buildings can be brought up to market rents as soon as the lease expires. Enjoy your place.

      Yep, it's all about rent control. Luckily, for at least the next 10 years, all of California has rent control. There may be some exceptions, but most rents can only be raised by 5% + inflation each year. Cities/towns that have stricter rent control like L.A. and San Francisco still have that stricter rent control in effect.

    • @swicheroo1
      @swicheroo1 3 роки тому +2

      @@Mickey_McD Post 1979 construction in LA has absolutely no rent stabilization. Some new places voluntarily follow the 5% bump. But a lot of my newbie friends in new high rise construction have gotten thousand dollar increases...and then they end up having to move.

There are people that dream of living in a place like LA or New York And you hear all the horrible stories of people living in their car running out of money but at least you can foresee what life would be like in whatever budget you have set. It is ridiculous that rent is that high in these places but I mean it's LA... If you can set your expectations and still live alone and have rent that's less than $1,000 I think it's to your benefit to watch a video like this to see how it's done. If I had dreams of living in LA and was single trying to figure out what I could afford and still have a good quality of life then I definitely would live in a place like this.

    You might be able to use a COLEMAN or the OMNIA camping ovens on your stove.
    The COLEMAN camping oven folds up when not in use. The OMINA oven does not fold up when not in use and is the more expensive option and takes up room more when not in use. Both of these options need a heat source to work and do not get attached to electricity or gas, but work on a stove top.
    You can also experiment with the double boiler method for cooking cakes if you use a stainless steel cooking pot for the cake. Cakes can also be cooked directly onto the stove if you are using a nonstick pan.

      I cannot see a microwave. You can warm up food without a micro wave and without an oven by putting a pot of water on the cooktop and put a plate (not plastic or melamine) on the pot. Then bring the plate to a simmer and then to a slow boil. The food in the plate may take about 30 minutes to heat up.

    I've been thinking alot about moving to LA especially to pursue acting but was unsure cuz I felt hopeless that I won't find anything cheap. This is right in my budget and NEED to look into. How is surrounding areas? Is it safe? Is it in close proximity to stores and bus routes? Cause I don't have a car either lol

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola 3 роки тому +4

      Hi there! It was pretty safe. I have since moved. I never experienced anything bad. A lot of noise when there are protests. For auditions and bookings, you might want to get a car even if it's an older one as the auditions will be nearly impossible to get to on time on a bus because they can be all over LA. The public transit isn't the best.

    I want your palm plant to survive! It looks similar to the ones I have. I am not an expert but I have had mine since early summer and they are thriving. Summer time I give them fertilizer. It's organic. Now that it's colder the palms are inside (from the balcony) and I am not supposed to give them any fertilizers and they look great. If you spritz the palm with water or take it into the shower - it'll love it! It needs water and love. Maybe a bit more space.

You could get a clamp like for broom handles and stick that to any other wall away from the toilet and your toothbrush would click in and out easily.
      Also you have the cute macrame joint but you could get a full length mirror that could be the width of the mirror you have and the length of both the mirror plus macrame that way you still reflect light and see a whole ‘fit.

    I like how bright your studio is , I think in the entrance hallway on the left wall that little slim recess I would have put a door on it and make it into a small slim wardrobe , adding a rail and a shelf or a few shelves.I love the sofa and the colour and style is fab.I feel you COULD add some colour to this bathroom , the shelving unit is good , but , think about investing in the use of a carpenter and get him to make a unit that can make use of the WHOLE wall the toilet is on , the natural light is wonderful , I would suggest either roman , roller or venetian blinds along with your curtains but take the curtain pole right up to the ceiling , it will give the room a sense of height and make it appear larger .On that little corner unit you have , I would suggest you get some mirror and glue that in the door frame, that means that if you are keeping your makeup in their you can use the mirror to apply it and then shut the door and its all away inside .Normally I dont enjoy open shelving in a kitchen , but here it works and with the addition of plants yours looks lovely . Possibly i would have added in
    another full unit floor to ceiling for storage .I love your desk , it looks neat in the corner but the addition of that huge planter is too much . Wouldnt you prefer to look out of the window? The small shaped mirrors would actually look great on the sofa bed wall if you had about a dozen of them and possibly in gold to match the sofa covers. Your speech got faster and faster and I was wondering if you were talking fast because you might have thought you didnt have enough time for the video? All in all, you have a great little studio and you have made it homely.
