I am the director behind this interview. It was shot in July 2017 at her home in Modena. This is just a selection of a 20 minutes interview. It was a breath-taking experience, very emotional as you can guess from the video. Mrs Kabaivanska was extremely nice with us, she told me how beautiful and young I was (I was 33 at the time, LOL) and she even offered us something to drink and one of the best cakes I've ever eaten. :) Such a genuine and wonderful lady.

She entered on the stage, dressed with a red hunter outfit and her figure was beautiful and her voice amazing. It happened at Colon Theater Opera House at Buenos Aires Federal DC, Argentina 🇦🇷 ❤️🌷♥️🌹🍀

We had no idea whatsoever as to those who sang in the West; it was absolutely forbidden to listen to Western radios. We had the right to know, to have information solely on Russia, on the Bolshoi theatre. And, as a matter of fact, when I finished conservatory, I was given a scholarship for Moscow's Bolshoi theatre. During this time, a friend of mine, an engineering student, had built a primitive radio, one of those old-time ones, with the lamps. He called me once and said "You know, I can catch the Western stations too!". In secret, we ran off to his place.. this radio of his was indeed functional. We started scrolling through stations; at a certain point I heard singing; a woman's voice. So I said "Stop it here. I want to hear this.". This miraculous voice first sang a Bellini aria; and then a Wagner one; and then one by Verdi.. my jaw dropped. This was for me a whole new world. At the end I heard the words "Martini Rossi". It was a Martini&Rossi (*the beverage co. that make Martini) concert. But I still didn't know the name of that singer. In my head, I had already decided - I wouldn't go to study in Moscow at the Bolshoi.. but wherever that voice I'd heard was. This was 1958. I finally got to the country where Maria Callas was singing. Because the voice I'd heard was _her_ voice. First thing I ran to La Scala, got up in the gallery (the Loggione), and heard Medea, sung by Callas. Thus, Callas for me became a real thing.. not only a voice in space. The _organ_ she had.. one shouldn't even conceive of imitating it. This is as wrong as you might get. It's a special throat. It's her throat, Callas', and so is her voice. My voice is perfectly modest in respect, and I have achieved what I have achieved.. because of the innate interpretative talent I have. It's two different worlds. She is there - (points to sky) - and we are here. On Earth.

ma non ha mai parlato bene e giustamente di quel periodo, in altre interviste racconta che all'est facevano credere che qui si faceva la fame, infatti partì per l'italia con due valigie piene di cibo ma quando arrivò in italia rimase sbalordita del progresso che c'era
