    Good Video and Review...but I just want to clarify something about the Magazines for the audience ...this had me confused and after doing a lot of research on the gun well the way it is explained in this video is wrong...The Black rotary magazine is for BB's and the other 3 with the silver in the center are for the Pellets...The barrel in this gun is rifled and it is suggested to use more pellets than the BBs thats why it has more pellet magazines than bbs...even though it can fire both...it will also have higher velocity with the pellets...but that will happen with many other guns probably...other than that great information and point of view.

    • @knighthawk3759

      Thank you for the information but I would like to clarify I contacted Umarex directly and they State for the record that the plastic magazines are not to be used they are nothing but placeholders specifically because the teeth on them will break off after a few uses they are not to be used for either BBS or pellets. And that is straight from their customer service and marketing departments. It's seeming that there's a lot of confusion with the design of this particular pistol.

    • @knighthawk3759
      @knighthawk3759  5 років тому

      The documentation that you stated on the other video is most likely either out of date or umarex is telling a lie.... Regardless you can use the pistol as you will and this is my review of it.... I appreciate the informationbut for the sake of redundancy I removed your comments on the other video these will remain here people can take them as they will form their own opinions about their pistol and how they wish to use it I have put the black magazines aside as they will not withstand more than a few firings before breaking that is most likely why umarex stated they were placeholders and are not to be used.....also it's pretty cost-prohibitive when you have to spend another $40 on a replacement magazine just to replace the rotary magazines as they have nothing for sale to replace them. All in all a poor design in my opinion as the magazines are not efficient neither is the CO2 as the blowback is far too powerful for the amount of performance you guess it is wasting fart too much CO2 in my opinion to give you a hard blow back where a hard blow back of this degree is not really needed

    The black one is for bb's which I dont use as the barrel is rifled, maybe you got a bad unit, mines great, mags fell out at first as well but with use they started to retain, maybe after becoming magnetized, as for the co2 I consistently getting around 9 mags before my co2 runs out, accuracy has been about 1 inch grouping at 30 feet.

    First remark : All reviewers have claimed that the all-black plastic clips are for BBs ( not pellets) . Problems with SA 10 and those circulars mini-mags (clips) is evident from instruction videos and users’ review letters . I have shot several thousands steel BBs (they are faster than any pellet and make more recognizable impact ) and pellets of at least three basic materials : lead , composites , and single light metals with the range from 5.3 gr. to 16.20 gr. All the pellets did was to ruin my first SA 10 by getting out of the clip with bores in the rubber too big and getting stuck in the big mag with no easy way to get the mag out ; couple of them even crashed into each other in the barrel when the first somehow got stuck there ( all open to confirm by my dealer and my reviews letters ) . So , now I am merrily shooting only BBs using only the “BB plastic clip ,”----- hoping that some dealer sells me couple of these plastic guys for a few bucks----- and both , me and the pistol , are happy .

    Coulda been a bit depressing hearing all this.. But, no. I am going to buy one of these anyway. 😁
    Now I think I have heard all three ways of these rotary mags. First the plastic one was for the BBs. Then there was no difference at all which ammo type you put in there. And now the plastic one is the pellet drum mag.. If I woulda been the Umarex designer - then the plastic one would have a magnetic core to hold the steel BBs in place. Not a new thing for UX products to hold BBs in place with magnetism. The Walther CP99 Compact has a magnet in the follower of the magazine, as an example..
    If the blowback is as strong as I have heard, then I'd definitely change the spring around the rod to a bit harder one.
    Apparently not gotten that many shots. But if it shoots hard enough, then I'd be gladly willing to change the cartridge more often.😊
    I do own the dual-ammog Glock 17. There the drum mags sat way better stored away on the actual magazine. The rotating upper magazine though sat more loose - but that was an easy fix. I just filed a bit the aluminium piece that presses the drum from underneath. That piece though is what may wear down the drum over time. But they do sell new drum mags separately for these..

      Absolutely if you feel that it's worth the purchase then by all means but I definitely would recommend not going to Amazon as they will not allow returns of airguns in any way shape or form......this is only one man's opinion and although there are the other opinions that agree with mine your money is always best meant by you and you should always make your own opinion about things I hope that your purchase serves you well please come back and leave a comment once you receive it and what your impressions are of it but be aware I will be posting a update the rotary magazines are very easy and if you do lose them the only way that you can get replacements is by purchasing an entire other magazine and at this point the price of one of those magazines is very close to half price for the entire pistol on Amazon at this point

    Everybody else's review states that there are three magazines for the .177 pellets, and one for the BB's. Reverse of what you just said!
    Now I'm wondering why you haven;t addressed this point.
    Magnets will not be attracted to 'zamac' ( sinc alloy ) that is used in this pistol, so they won't hold the magazines and of course won't hold the pellets either.
    Maybe the normally steel BB's will hold but from what other's have said this is NOT what holds the pellets or BB's,.it seems to be compression fit.
    I don't know, as I don't have my pistol yet, so I may check these points myself.
    However something's not right, I believe you, but we'll see.

      The only thing I can tell you is what I got directly from the PR department of Umarex. I was told that the black all plastic rotary magazine is supposed to be some type of a placeholder and the other three are for pellets and BBs since I've actually shot both out of the metal core rotary magazines so you're correct something is not right and since it doesn't actually explain fully in the instructions we're at a loss at this point. I don't fire these very often simply because the CO2 gas runs out so quickly in my case after about 19 shots

    I would really appreciate a definition of the words and terms you use for everything, eg "the takedown rod" What the hell is that? "The slide catch" (Is that next to the Johnson rod?) I kinda see what you're referring to however I'm lost. Or is this vid only for pellet pistol afficianados ? There are more examples, but maybe I should be on the Umarex for beginners video. I mean if I had any gun experience I wouldn't be looking at BB guns.

    • @knighthawk3759
      @knighthawk3759  4 роки тому

      Okay so be more specific..... The takedown rod as you call it is for the disassembly or field-stripping of the pistol field stripping is a term meaning to do a partial disassembly in order to perform maintenance or cleaning a slide catch is a term meaning a part of the pistol that is spring loaded and upon the last bullet being fired we'll lock the slide to the rear exposing the breach the breach is the hole in which a shell casing of a spent bullet will be a ejected from a semi-automatic weapon. Now the reason the slide locks back is 2 Reasons to facilitate the quick reloading and chambering of a fresh bullet from a magazine and placing the hammer in the firing position.upon releasing the slide catch lever the slide will move forward chambering the next bullet and having the hammer in the firing position. Magazine is the usually metalspring loaded for lack of a better term box in which the bullets are kept inside the weapon and they are fed from this magazine by the cycling of the weapon in order for it to be fired. Hopefully this clears upif you want more definitions please be more specific of what you want to know as I was in the air Force for 13 years and probably know enough about weapons to be a low-level combat arms instructor

      14mm, 1mm pitch, clockwise thread. Some Airsoft suppressors have the correct (clockwise!) thread, but TBH it's only really a cosmetic addition. That said you could probably get a working one made but why bother? The sound of the gas escaping from the blowback mechanism will pretty much defeat it.
