The 3 videos in this series have been truly inspirational, Luise! I always appreciate all your explanations, your thought process, your amazing creativity, and of course your humor. Thanks for everything you do.
I am so happy to have found you through Tim Holtz’ lives! Thoroughly enjoy your creations, your process and your thoughtful explanations. So gorgeous! Thank you!!
I love the special nuance that you gave to a relatively monochromatic creation by adding layers of paper, ephemera and shades of neutral colour. What a stunning make. I also liked your “Luise” talk to remind us to take the time to appreciate our creations. 🤗🇨🇦🤗
This is an amazing work of art. Your videos are such a gift to us all. Not just the art, but the way you speak is so respectful and from the heart. One can tell this all comes from a deep place within you.
Tactile!? Absolutely me! Touchy-feely lumpy bumpy all the way! I love everything about your project. I love seeing the real you in progress and the teaching commentary voice over. What’s not to love!?
Absolutely beautiful! You do you, and wear it proud! There will always be a few naysayers, but there are also many more supporters! I enjoy watching you taking the time to not just to make, but to CREATE ART. Balance, cohesiveness, symmetry, flow it truly is a work of Art!
Fabulous finished project, and I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts about appreciating the art we create, for our own appreciation and enjoyment, even if we’re giving it away.
Another awesome creation. I know exactly what you mean when you say that you gift your work that you have put your heart and soul into and it is not appreciated. It knocks your confidence. I’m really enjoying your projects for Tim. Tfs
This was my favorite make from the Sizzix live last Saturday! Pushes us, as makers, to think beyond the red, green, and white of traditional Christmas! Thank you for the detailed 3-video series, very much appreciated, Luise!
Love this envelope. Watched it on Tim’s you tube. As soon as he showed it, I knew it was yours. I’m so glad that you are showing all the details! Your so creative. Your really add so much to his releases!
Hai Luise, thank you for sharing. Your make is so so beautiful.😍 I saw that Tim not fold it like it was. And yes it is amazing that Santa turn to each other when it wasn't planned. I can imagine you was pleasantly surprised🤭 thank you again. Greets Simone
I could listen to you all day discuss the love, art, challenges of JJ'ing. I have some family that doesn't understand this art and it does make me sad. This piece is amazing. I love everything about it. The color and texture are impeccable. Thank you for the inspiration. I think I need to make one-off to watch the other envelope projects you have on your channel ❤
Luise, I so appreciate you sharing all of the details and your process. I appreciate the time you put in doing all the die cutting, the color treating of your papers, and paper choices! Then then you get started on the making! Oh and the ongoing process as the project unfolds (literally)! Thank you for sharing your process as well as all those special details! ❤
This so awesome! I love this make! As an abstract mixed media artist, I got hooked on Junk Journals! As a result, I think I’m a better mixed media artist! I have carried over the concepts in my own large canvases! I learned so much from this community & I am so grateful everyone is eager to share their knowledge! I know exactly how you feel about finishing a piece & hate the deadlines for a show! You are an amazing artist & person & inspire me so much! Thank you! ❤
I am in awe...as always. What an amazing creation. All those little details....just wow.🥰 And something caught my attention and triggered a memory when you mentioned Book Darts. 20:15 I'm pretty sure that I know what you mean. I got some from a company called Levenger MANY years ago. I had forgotten about that company and quickly looked them up. Yep, they still exist. Lovely bookish things.❤ And they still carry those little bookmarks, but they call them nibs, rather than darts. So thank you for walking us through your Christmas journal, and thank you for reminding me of book darts and a luscious bookish company that I had forgotten about.❤📚
Hi Luise. I am not crazy about traditional Christmas styles or the ordinary silver, gold, red and green colours. This however is simply gorgeous! I love the earthy, neutral colors, vintage look and grunge! Love it ! Well done. I love your work and videos.
An amazing make! Tim did appreciate all the many components & your ways of adding them (grunge is his jam) as did all of us watching. You’re an amazing artist & I am always inspired to give it a try. Now I have to be able to get those die cuts. So many favs!
I think this is absolutely stunning! I appreciate all your work. It’s always so innovative and creative. You have every reason to be proud of your work. Also, I always understand what you’re saying. I look forward to your next video!
“FESTIVE GRUNGE” is what I’d like to call this project (you referred to that early in the video & I really like that!) During your discussion of using repetition, you were saying it is “harmonious”....I would say it is “pleasing to the eye”.....that form of artistry is so beautiful and you nailed it!! Another awesome project!! TYFS!! ❤️🦋💜
When you did the flip thru at the end....the little tag on the right side of the first page (with the pointy arrow shapes from festive blocks and those round starburst things), it has a wood grain square background.....how did you make that tag please?
I’m fairly new to your channel and I want to tell you how much I LOVE your art! Thank you for taking the time to share with us your process and thoughts. Please know how much I appreciate your effort at sharing in English as I can only imagine how challenging that can be. I know I would never be able to master German. Please don’t be so hard on yourself when you find yourself struggling to find the exact word you want. You are doing amazing! And I think I can safely say we know what you are trying to communicate. Besides your art speaks for itself. Thank you again for sharing you beautiful talent with us. I can’t wait to see what you create next!
Thank you Luise. This was an incredible make and I enjoyed watching it all come together in 'normal' speed. I would have been terrified to try and put a neutral colored Christmas project come together and I think yours is fabulous. Thank you again for 'walking' us through it step-by-step and explaining everything in the process. And I really like and agree with what @elizabethkeeling-carreau1873 said below. Happy Holidays.
Your comments at the end of the video about importance of taking time to admire and appreciate our creations got me thinking. I am never confident that my creation can be considered beautiful or art... and because of that lack of confidence I always follow the rule I made for myself-the creation must be practical, functional. This way it will never be seen by anybody as my attempt to create art but simply as decorating (for reinforcement and other similar banal purposes) something that I needed. And I am at peace this way.
It's great to get a feedback like yours, thanks! It's also great that you could find peace, but please, please, please.... never underestimate yourself! If you can see art in your creations, others will see it as well. Believe me, I have been there!
Your design is gorgeous and I love your grunge techniques. I agree that the tactile experience is very important. It has to feel right! I appreciate you making these videos in English, although I can hear you struggle with word choices, you do extremely well! ❤
SANTA: When I saw Tim match them up on the video I thought ... WOW ... Luise is amazing! Really cool that it was a coincidence - and YOU ARE AMAZING! TEXTURE: YES! These should definitely have texture, whether actual or just implied. I always add texture, in some way, to my art! XMAS TREE DIE CUT: I don't get excited about Xmas decor so much, and I love this project because it's NOT red/green. But the way you used that tree is genius and I'm going to purchase that die cut just based on what you showed here! Because I love it as just a tree ... and not necessarily a Xmas tree. MY PROJECTS: I (typically) LOVE my projects! And when I finish it I will go through it multiple times just marveling at how much I love it. I've been making quilts for over 30 years (working full-time with kids most of that time) and should have learned by now that you should give these types of gifts to people who "get it"! But, when I first started making junk journal things last fall (2022) I made one for a friend who's more of a scientist. I made it with her in mind ... with lots of personal touches ... and she was kind of like ... huh?! When she left my house she didn't take it with her ... I mentioned it to her in a text. She has never asked about it again ... so I just kept it. I love it! That's what matters! (Side note: I don't really like to exercise. I bought a "step" at a resale shop and started doing step aerobics to Rolling Stones concert ... but, I could never get the "moves like Jagger"! Holy Cow! So now I'm doing the step aerobics to yours and/or Barbara's (49Dragonflies) video's! It makes the time go sooo much faster! Thank you!)
It is a sprig of pine or a little branch 😊 you were right the first time. A small one, but still a branch. Although a sprig is probably most accurate “a small stem bearing leaves or flowers, taken from a plant. Eg "a sprig of holly"” Your great English still blows me away btw. I really should work on becoming fluent in French. I can read a lot of it, but it’s just spoken so quickly it’s hard to understand. Wish we all had a second language & understanding of another culture. Would hopefully make the world a better place
Unfortunately I haven't filmed my process of how I made the box. But that's totally easy. Just take the book cover and glue pieces of cardboard to those sides that shall be closed. Decorate with some paper, and there you go
@@luiseheinzl gotcha I wasn’t sure if it was done in 1 sitting or over a couple of days. Thank you for sharing your creativity. I love how intricate your projects seem and appreciate you breaking it down to show that it’s doable. ❤️
Hi Luise, ok so something is bothering me watching you and you didn’t notice it I don’t think and then maybe you did and did say anything. On the flip behind the candle your second H in HoHo is upside down. And when you were describing what a journal and a notebook should feel like it sounded like you were describing candy in Willy Wonka🤣😆😊 I’m so loving watching these videos how you made this. Great job. Bye hun👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
The 3 videos in this series have been truly inspirational, Luise! I always appreciate all your explanations, your thought process, your amazing creativity, and of course your humor. Thanks for everything you do.
I understood you completely 🎉😁

I love everything about your project. I love seeing the real you in progress and the teaching commentary voice over. What’s not to love!?
“Mark making for extra creative people” 😊 Love this whole project.
Stunning, Luise. Your imagination blows me away. You have every right to be proud of this item, you put a lot of effort into it, and it was worth it.
I love that it is Christmas but neutral colors and grunge!
I’m so happy that you got your wish to be part of Tim Holtz design team. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦

It's absolutely fantastic Luise! Saw it on tim's live, and I have very much enjoyed these three videos of your process! You are magical!
Lisa
Utterly beautiful project. Thank you especially for your comments about self-reflection and continuous learning!
🎉 Enjoyed the Process and hard Work you put into these 3 videos, Luise!
Hey Luise. Der Wahnsinn. 😊 Richtig schön! Die Farben sind wieder einmal sooo toll. LG Gerti
Just amazing! The way you used the negative of the die cuts is genius!
You have inspired me to try to do an all neutral journal/envelope. Yours is so beautiful! You’ve given me so many ideas and I thank you! ❤️

a super make Luise x...and your English is 100 % better than my German ! x
Such a beautiful finish to this wonderful envelope journal ❤❤❤

Gorgeous envelope notebook, love it💙
I so enjoyed your make it has given me inspiration to do a grunge project. Your use of inks and the “off cuts” from die cutting such great ideas
Wonderful!!

Unfortunately I haven't filmed my process of how I made the box. But that's totally easy. Just take the book cover and glue pieces of cardboard to those sides that shall be closed. Decorate with some paper, and there you go
This is amazing Luise!! How long did it take you to make this?

Luise, what is the stuff you put down at 13:57 on the "Ho Ho Ho" tag to get that white effect? Is that just watered down paint? I love that.
Yes, exactly that, white acrylic paint with some water, gesso would work as well
You are amazing. @@luiseheinzl
