Tom, near the end of the video, you make the decision not to go back out again. Doesn't matter if it's rain, heat, fatigue, fuel remaining, oil temps; if you feel like it's time to call it a day, you're always right.
That was a fun watch. Jimmy sounded like a freaking pro instructor. Also loved the sound of that thing screaming at high revs. Looking forward to the mods.
12:46 “You can wait for the car to “shift””. Thank you for confirming the “shift”!!! Man that shift always scares me when I forget it’s coming. I thought my bushings were blown the first time I felt it.
Having someone like Jimmer around to coach you is a really valuable asset, he could help you extract the most from the S2000, as they're very competent cars when driven right. Also, I'd advise replacing the valve retainers for the improved version from the F22 engine, the F20 retainers can crack if the engine is ever over revved, and that leads to total engine failure, so for a couple hundred £ and a day's work it's worth doing, I'll be doing it before I go on track in mine.
Paint codes mate. Gloss = slippery, Matte = grip. Then just play connect the dots from Matte to Matte. Like Jimbo say get used to it sliding and catching it, I'd recommend throwing it to SEE if you can catch it
Really enjoyed the video mate, love an S2000! Bet you find a load of speed straight away when you next go out, now you know the car a bit more and know where the limits are with it. Definitely found the same after my first few track days. Break through the scary moments and plow on! Will hopefully be out myself later in the year with the battered MX-5 post some tinkering
Not sure if you can get them with the supply shortages but with some Hankook RS4s, you can push the S2k in the wet pretty well. They are very predictable and confidence inspiring.
Need to be getting a bit sideways, liked that!! I sprint/hillclimb an s2000 in roadgoing class around the South East if you need any tips on mods or set-up. Will be at Lydden later in the year too.
S2K's look like death traps from the videos ive watched haha, the snappy oversteer looks like it'll bite you in the arse. Didn't they remedy this on the later models or am I thinking of the MR2?
You missed an opportunity when the rain started, you should have gone out and done a couple of granny laps then slowly increased your pace to get a feel for car control, it’s easier to learn at low speed. And: "if you don’t spin you’re not trying hard enough" - just try not to do it when there are other cars around!
Does tom actually play car games or sim race???? just wondering if tom did play with a wheel like jimmy he would know where to push car and how fast the car can be pushed in a sim?? i know a sim isnt actually real life but surely it would give tom the confidence and the knowledge of the corners?? i mean didnt kaz learn the nurb on GT and then competed in the real life 24hrs??? in a gtr no less with other real life racers??!!!
"Bear in mind this is literally a boat, so I do have the advantage in the wet."

Seeing Jimmy driving that professionally just shows how much he has developed in the Praga.
loved the part with the feedback as well. You can't experience the difference in experience when you watch someone's "racing game" videos ^^

The sloppy shifter is a known S2000 problem, there is a really good video from "LHT Performance" on how to fix it an make the shifting MUCH better.
this is actually a pretty good concept for a build series.
Thank you, I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Meanwhile Jimmy on his own channel:
N/A Supra > S2000 Confirmed. LoL.
Because Jimmer is speaking facts,Supras comes with 1200hp stock according to 12 year old fanboys
@@KitKitChanIsaac my car will go 0-60 in 4 seconds.

As long subscriber of Jimmy, it's amazing seeing how far he has developed
This is a great idea for a build series imo!
In the session after Jimmy drove, you can really tell Tom's having so much fun! Awesome to see the difference confidence makes :)

Man that shift always scares me when I forget it’s coming. I thought my bushings were blown the first time I felt it.
Tom and Jimmy is the bromance we never knew we needed.
having owned a s2000 for 3 yaers you cant go wrong with it its a beast

Jimmy's video got me interested in this one. That S2000 sure sounds nice! Looking forward to what you do to the car next!
Jimmy is quite humble considering his skill.

Great video. I always love starting in the wet and working to the dry through the day. FUN.

@jimmybroadbent is a natural teacher! Awesome content, excited to see your progress with the S2K.
Great stuff Tom glad Jimmy is there as well giving you support 👍
Lovely video Tom! Great progress over the day! Look forward to seeing your plans for the little S2!
Good stuff, Tom!
Was disappointed with the lack of representation of the s2k in Jimmy's video, happily subscribed here to see more of it!
Would love to take our S2000 out on the track soon. Perhaps not in those sorts of conditions... 😂

Best sounding 4cyl ever!
Good video and an interesting project. Excellent helmet hair towards the end too 👍
Great video, great concept for a series, you sir have yourself a new sub!
Love how Random Callsign is in the background for both these videos 😂
395th ... well, Jimmer sent me. Keep on rockin'
love your helmet! and your reg plate LOL

S2000 ♥
I liked this one , watching someone with Similar fear as my own in a rear wheel drive car for a change was fun . PS, are English tracks always wet ?
Do you have to have roll bars on the car to go on track or are they optional? Do they do the broomstick test?
It feels weird hearing Jimmer saying "I can taste the rainbow". (Insert name joke here).
I've also been around brands in my S2000 but with a spin. I'm interested to know what mods make the biggest improvement.
Man is there ever a full sunny day at Brands Hatch?
