The weirdest part of the cat suit scene was the Side Russian Leg Sweep that Rivalz did to Suzaku. Not only is that a wrestling move, it's one that requires quite a bit of cooperation, meaning that Suzaku, trained soldier and near super human warrior, just played along to getting taken down to the ground.
That actually fits his character, as he is also the kind of guy that shows kindness and affection to cats, despite them only biting him. He puts the wellbeing and joy of others, especially his friends, before his own comfort, or even safety.
Well, yes and no to Kallen's mom. The reason she became a maid was so that she could stay by her daughter's side in this fancy Britannian house with Kallen's stepmom and father. Kallen didn't realize this, and thought of her mother as a weak fool, who willingly sold herself to Britannians, thinking that life would be better. But all the while, her mother was thinking about Kallen, not about living a better life.
2:26 apparently (at least the wiki said this)[ According to Milly, it is implied that Nina once visited the ghettos and that she was a victim of assault by "elevens" at that time.] no idea why they didn't talk about this more during the show with how much we see of nina's problem with the Japanese
@@plantcrone9662 to be fair the wiki is not just the anime (I don’t think) it’s the manga the voice audios and every scrap of info that people bother putting up there
Honestly i do think that in season 1 the big weakess, (based off what I've seen from others) is that the show fails to convey the "good" side of Britannia, never mind we get to see some of it with Ashford, thats always either mentally hand waved or just not good enough to help show us the human cost of war on BOTH sides. A IRL example is that people hand wave or just ignore the civilian cost in the bombing of Berlin in WW2. But and this is the "big" change I'd make if it ever was possible to make minor visual edits to Code Geass. I would have shown images of happy Honorary Britannians working lower class jobs all happy together with maybe a a few regular Britannians though add that slight undertone by making it clear that the bosses are all blatantly Britannians in those flashes. It would have shown hope, stability but also add that slight layer of classism thag could then be turned around to go "thats not good enough" especially if we also add a visual flash that shows just how easy it is to become a honotary Britianian basically making it like getting a drivers license but with a oath swearing ceremony as well.
Kallen brings so much joy and pain. The whole series, I rooted for her. Except episode 9. Treating her mom like that made me want to see her get the shite slapped out of her. Her mech skills are so damn groovy. Love watching her kick ass.
Also she was like "why don't you go away" or whatever kinda implying she's being mean not just because she's mad that she's still maid to the family and all that but because she also wants to actively push her to get away or even at least react to the shit she gets in that house but she keeps taking it
If someone can explain what happened to the mom. Why were those people all like that. I’ve watched it twice now and am so confused. I don’t know what was in that drawer the mom opened
they're all at a supplier's site for a drug called refrain which can cause hallucinations and delusions that you're back in whatever the 'good old times' is for the user. Everyone there was in such a need of a high that rather than going back to wherever they live they just got high right at their supplier.
To add on to what others' are saying, the 11 or Japanese are particularly susceptible to this drug. It's supposed to make you relive and hallucinate your past memories. Many Japanese have transitioned from a good, prosperous time to a dystopic, hellish future. The mom is miserable and just wants to remember the good times with the kids. Like many drugs, the side effects of being an addicts causes you to tremble, so she was constantly dropping things and having mishaps while trying to be a maid. It's really sad.
@@billybob-uz6wz and all those accidents caused by the side effects of the drugs increases how much she's reprimanded and mocked, which increases her stress and thereby her desire to relax through the use of the drug.

Kallen is such a great character when she's on or off the Mecha and loved Lindsay's reaction to eps 9.
Are there any schedule on which you upload new Code Geass vidoes?
I always forget how hard refrain hits ngl
What happened to Code Geass this week?

This is why you don't trust wikis I'm pretty sure this is never said at all in the show. Just someone's headcanon.

@Jack Witt maybe because it s a lie which i won t get surprised considering wikipedia temple s keys are hold by racists and ideologues.
@jackwitt7430 Was it not in the audio dramas?
@Jack Witt do you have them all only like half of them are on UA-cam
Yes 👍🏽 love these long videos and conversations

I have mixed feelings when it comes yo suzaku. I live him sometimes and I hate him sometimes. It's such a weird feeling everytime he's on screen lol

It's a drug called refrain. It makes people "relive" their happiest memories.
