The Green Road to the Lighthouse

In this short documentary, the personal journey of Jackie O’Grady takes the viewer through the changes in the way of life on Clare Island on the rugged west coast of Ireland. Technological advances would ultimately lead to the extinguishing of a generations-old career - the lighthouse keeper.

A beautiful video, of a a place I love. My G.G. Grandfather was Primary Keeper at Clare Island starting in 1860. We will never forget our stay here. Mr. O'Grady's remembrances are priceless.

I remember him,he drove a little red van
