Natalie wood was so gorgeous!
I hated Culp standing in the way of Natalie crossing her legs. What an asshole.
And she doesn't play star and try to take over the whole conversation like look at me! She's wearing the cute little dress she liked a lot, too.
She truly was SC
It is always a treat to see something from the first decade of the Tonight Show.
That dress (by Arnold Scaasi) was Natalie Wood’s favorite. She also wore it on “What’s My Line.”
Natalie Wood so pretty and talented
Yes and the older she got she just kept getting even more beautiful ❤
Many major stars .Natalie Wood , Dyan Cannon (I think), Robert Culp, Elliot Gould , Flip Wilson, and The Smothers Brothers (Dick and Tom). We dont see this anymore on every major show
Wow! Thank you for posting this gem! Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice is one of my favorite films! Great to see the cast all together.
This is a very valuable artifact! I heard there aren't many "Tonight" shows available because they used to tape 📼 over older episodes. Then there was a fire in the '80s that destroyed old tapes as well.
There's Johnny Carson Show on tv now. I have directv and it's on satellite and on a subchannel on a local station.
At the time Johnny made one of his frequent trips to NBC's Burbank studios on the West Coast {the move was permanent in 1972}. His other guests that night were Flip Wilson and Tom & Dick Smothers.
This wasn’t New York?
Yes.
What a fantastic clip. I noticed that Dyann was leaning away from the guy who felt the need to put his arm around her shoulder
Bill Cosby has a cameo in Bob and Carol. You have to look carefully for it.
The 'Tonight' show was in color by 1968. I wonder why the clip isn't .
This is probably a kinescope. They were usually just black and white.
Also, tape was extremely expensive back then. It might have been taped off a primitive recorder that only took that kind of tape
When talk shows had class and etiquette.
HILARIOUS
A total walkon scenario...JC dresses nicely...Jeez Dyan and Wood were incredible
Culp at his 'groovy' best.
Johnny doesn't look uncomfortable at all
1969 not 1968
They said they were working on the picture so it was 1968 as the movie was released in 1969.
Really liked the movie but the ending, not so much.
Carson was a much better more seasoned interviewer in the 70s by far. Even through to 1988 thereabouts he was better than this in 1968.
There should be a Bob And Carol And Ted And Alice 2.
Current nighttime talk shows are unwatchable and just promotional events. Jimmy Kimmel is better but the others are just awful
A very akward talk here so much for sexual liberation then
*awkward
Creepy. Elliot Gould seems so uncomfortable.
He's not creepy. He's 🔥.
Looking back, this picture is so tame. Hadn’t aged well at all. Much ado about nothing. And the fact that by 69 you could barely talk about sex on national tv. Pathetic. However, the movie still speaks to the Puritanism of American culture.
You need to trun to Jesus Christ and make Him your Savior, Repent of your sins, be baptized, and join the Catholic church, which is THE CHURCH, Jesus established while on earth.
