I'm delighted that she wasn't made into a pet. Wild and free is better than toy for me.
If she was somehow limping or blind or any other reason they'd probably transfer her to a sanctuary and if that didn't work out too well they would be looking for wildlife fosters.

I’ve seen foxes as pets and it’s so sad.
This is a fox from my neighborhood! It’s hard to find good ones in Kentucky, but Second Chances is a fantastic animal rescue organization. So grateful they’re here!
Second chances is so freaking amazing. They actually have gone around to furry conventions over the years, representatives I mean. One time I got to see a baby sugar glider!

Poor Foxes...they have such a hard time with Mange, and it can easily lead to a horrible death. Kudos to everyone involved in saving this boy, who went back to the wild looking healthy and gorgeous.

Bless you and all the animal rescuers out there. I can't even begin to know how badly she must have been suffering in the wild slowly starving to death. It's a miracle she was found in time! I don't often watch many of the Dodo videos, even though they're happy endings, because they always make me cry, and this one was no exception! Thank you for all you do!

I still feel bad for her that she got used to being fed and now has to learn to fend for herself. Having freedom as an animal is a wonderful thing, but life is hard for these little critters, that’s why there are so many stories like hers.. I hope she does well taking care of herself ❤️❤️❤️

It amazed me how quick she was to get away after seeming so docile and accepting.
Yes! I almost felt bad for her like she left her family (the people that made her better) but then had to remind myself foxes live in the wild 😭

@Brandon Wiley Humans aren't emotionless animals. Death and suffering moves us and we often attempt to prevent or delay both from occurring. Would you apply the same logic to humans?
All they did was help the animal recover into a healthy state. I don't think they interfered with its lifetime otherwise as in, prolonged it unnecessarily when it was nearing inevitable death in a matter of hours or days. I think they did the right thing by giving the fox another shot at life. It can still be hunted and hunt with other animals. All that was done was the inevitable delayed.
Now theres ppl that say we should not interfere with nature. BUT, we ARE a part of nature and have been given compassion and love to carry out these worthy tasks.

We had a sick young fox with mange. Went to the farm and home got ivermectin slipped it in her dinner one night outside. Saw her two weeks later due to going out of town and she was so much better. Was definitely going to live. She wasn't as bad as this poor thing in the video but was on her way. So greatful to be apart of saving a precious animal...

What amazing work and dedication from the people who saved her, she looked so ill, I wouldn't have known if was possible to save her. And she must have been in such a terrible, painful state...they say it took 2 months for the diseased fur and skin to come off.

She was an adult wild fox. She knows where her mother is and it’s not the nice human that helped don’t worry.
I'm happy that she/he was able to get released because it often happens that they get so used to humans and food that they become unable to survive due to these reasons. I give her/him all my luck that she will have a fulfilling Life ❤️
Nice video of showing a release of wild animal back into the wild healed, I thank you, this is what life is all about saving lives of animals is a small but important.
There is a fix here in Columbia MD that has terrible mange. Half her body from tail to rib cage is bare. I’m shocked she did not freeze to death this winter. Called numerous state, county wildlife agencies, rescuers. Dept of Natural Resources said a trapper will use a .22 after humane trapping. Rescuers told me it’s illegal for me to try to help. Baiting with Ivermectin discouraged due to unintended species getting hold of it. It’s heartbreaking not to be able to help. She’s shunned and chased by other fox. I leave out foods like eggs, chicken & fruits. They are always gone.

I work with non-profits and I’ve gotta say...when I was younger I always thought the way they take off like that is kind of sad, because it’s like “no love lost there”...but after having worked in rehabilitation - those moments bring tears to my eyes because they’re so beautiful. That’s the one moment where you feel the success just hit you. So much hard work, time, effort, and love goes into this....and the payout is amazing. Nothing is more exhilarating than seeing them shoot off with confidence like that. There’s not a lot of highs in life that are this powerful. We humans do a lot of bad things on this earth - but we’re capable of kindnesses the rest of the animal kingdom can’t afford to exercise. Feeling the wave of altruism that hits you when you give an animal a second chance at life is so incredibly powerful.
I hope videos like this inspire more people to give their time and money towards saving the wild one fox at a time. If you’re reading this - get out there and be a hero. The world needs humans like you.

Foxes have always been my favorite They've been hunted for sport, abused and still are so playful and happy. They're the best mix between cats and dogs.
