Sunday Sun and Solitude Guided Winter Climbing!

The sound of silence! The video snippets are from day two of Ollie and Giles two days of private instruction and technique coaching in the Cairngorms.
This took them from learning the very winter basics to fairly advanced winter mountaineering and winter climbing skills.
Neither Ollie or Giles were experienced trad climbers though both were alpine skiers with good fitness from endurance events such as the Iron Man.
I was extremely impressed at how fit and how quickly they both picked up even quite advanced climbing rope work techniques after just being shown once and this enabled them to progress quickly and climb some fun winter lines before they progressed onto leading some fun but quite exposed routes as I coached them!
Over the two days we had great fun and superb settled weather along with complete solitude to make the best use of the frozen snow ice and spectacular craggy scenery of the high Cairngorms.
