This may sound rude because it’s over comments so I’m not able to use facial expressions and a tone of voice to get my point across, but I swear I’m just genuinely confused and wondering. So I was just confused because isn’t there a little too much information in this body paragraph? Shouldn’t all of this information be expanded into multiple paragraphs? Especially since your thesis should pertain to the entire essay, not just one paragraph, right? Thanks!
Emma, thank you for your thoughtful comment. It's not rude at all 😃. You bring up a great point about the body paragraph(s). This was a very basic example to show students who are just transitioning from writing paragraphs to writing essays. As you progress in your studies, it will most likely be necessary to have more than one body paragraph per topic(reason). It's very natural to break paragraphs up. Just make sure that each paragraph has enough information/support to stand on its own. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions/concerns.
Start building your vocabulary by watching Anne's videos on the AWL (Academic Word List). Begin learning 5 new words every few days. These videos are fantastic because she shows you HOW to use them. You are not just memorizing out of context. You can do this!
