    Although the pictures and video shows it, this story ignored a critical part - that a high percentage, about 70%, of the drivers and support staff were Black soldiers. The US military had segregation of Black solders and White soldiers. Black soldiers were limited from being in combat roles. Many ended up with non-combat yet support roles like food prep and truck drivers like with the Red Ball Express.

    My father drove a Mack NR which had served at the red ball express. He was very fond of this truck.

    Any conflit from 1945 to today you trucks for supply all time make sure troops got gear need pure simple.

    I knew a guy who dorve a Truck hauling supplies during WWII his first name Aldovon he was from Lithuania but after the War he moved to the USA and became a US Citizen he was a Chemical Operator at the Upjohn CO Portage MI ..

    There will alawys be a need for trucks. Its what powers them is the only thing. Also if they come up with full proof self drive .that idea I dont like.
