James Smithe when I lived with their family a few years ago, she was always so sincere with her passion for music. The whole family (besides the mom) was just so nice and welcoming to us.

You're right. It's matured a lot. She actually looks a lot older too. I saw her this summer on tour with Imagine Dragons back in July and she wasn't even this matured yet.

and growing talents from her. I can't wait to see her acting abilities. If her last album is any indication... I want a reserve on her album, before it sells OUT (as a CD) again...We managed to get one here, for my autistic sister (a huge fan), but not before it Sold Out in Target before I could get there (2 copies left), and grabbed the LAST CD in our Walmart, this past Summer.

Then, they find out it's a book. I think we should give Grace FULL Credit for Stargirl. The MARK of a Great Actress is to Mold so perfectly to a Role... It SEEMS seamless in their transition. THAT may be exactly what Happened in this Role. So skilled, just like in her music... she OWNS it, and Dominates her presence on the Screen... Showing natural skills far beyond her age and among Peers. That should blow experts in the Industry away... And stir up a few Awards. (Disney Pros were extremely thrilled to sign Grace after her Audition.) I'm sure she'll do other Roles, and we will make her America's Princess, not just Disney's.
NOTE: Sign of advanced acting skills... Being able to cry on cue. Grace mentions she can do that, among all her other talents.
Disney has $Millions$ riding on Grace's amazing acting and singing skills as their Premiere to SELL their New Streaming Service in time for Christmas 2019. I think that means putting Grace at the very pentacle of the Media Industry, with full fanfare enthusiasm and hype, as this film rolls out. That means a total mind blowing media experience, complete with awesome close-ups, great framing, character development... And as Grace has dropped a few tidbits... Awesome NEW Songs tied to this movie that could rival the BEST Disney Classics that draw record audiences. Yes, it is also partly a Musical! That makes it a definite Classic... And something Families will want to OWN because of its playability. I predict a breakout Better than FROZEN, that transcends just being a film. Disney would not be satisfied with anything LESS. I can tell.
zipwizard hilot2008 no...it’s based off a book that was written in 2000 about an odd girl who was homeschooled up to a point and plays the ukelele. She kinda fits the profile. It wasn’t custom made for her, a screenplay was made based off the book and they chose her to be Stargirl.

when people say "wow those vocals, where did the little girl go?" it's because all they know is AGT. If she did just one cover on AGT then she would be on a par with Justin Crum and not thought of as a singer composer. Check out this video from Vegas, it's worth it

That book is one of my favorites and as soon as I heard it was being made into a movie I thought, "Grace Vanderwaal would be perfect for that part," and then found out she is! Waiting for this movie. Grace is an exceptional person, grounded, real, unapologetic for any of it. Love her.

Not hating on Grace, but would just LOVE it if people started actually hiring actors rather than celebrities.
They didn't pick Grace for the role of "Stargirl" because she's a "celebrity". They picked her, because she was the perfect fit for the role. They were originally going to make the movie back in 2015, but it didn't work out, and then a year later, Grace came along. They even waited two years for her to be a little older and had her try out for the role.
