Wow that will certainly be a ride to remember, a bit like the blue skies that seem to be a distant memory. Looked a fun ride. My friends rear mech broke during lockdown, 3 mile walk back to the nearest town and a black cab back home 😮
That's pretty unlucky all-round but kudos to your friend for her first 100 mile effort - she seemed in great shape considering single speed riding, and forced out by another big mechanical. I actually came to offer you guys my mech hangar but it was the wrong type - didnt realise you were all together, thought you were helping a stranger. It did make me think some sort of roaming mechanic/recovery might be nice for these big events, if the person was solo it would have been tricky resolving and might feel bit overwhelming. Also made me realise I should carry a chain tool again, it's the one thing I dropped out of my kit for never needing!! I was broken after I finished, you guys seemed quite fresh 😁
A nice sunny day out, many watts where spent with all the chain snapping. Yeah, drop bears apparently when Australian soldiers came to train with British army, some Drop bears snuck on their transport plane and escaped onto Salisbury plain so you were lucky.
A hinge is basically a circle haha. I live 20 mins from Stonehenge. Interesting things about Stonehenge are the rocks are from Wales and on the summer Solstice is the sun rises perfectly matches up with the stones. Other than that it just makes people slow down on the a303 and makes traffic jams 😂. Also how did I not know about this event!? Also 10 years as a bicycle mechanic I would have been useful by the looks of it 😂😂
Did the mech end up in the spokes then to bend the hanger . ? Yeah chain breaker tools are a must for that sort of ride. Quick links will not solve every outcome .
That really was a year's worth of mechanicals in an afternoon. Goes without saying that "extra hanger" is added to the list of spares. I feel for your mate with the quicklinks...I gave away 3 in a recent group ride. Fortunately I didn't need one later. Nothing like a Medieval nail to trash a tyre. 😮🤯🚴♂️
Who needs drop bears when you have bicycle carnage like that. Looked like a nice day out though, lovely sunshine, nice people, and no mad Scots pheasants or peacocks or whatever. Or rain. No dogs at Stonehenge because of the druids, or what? Bloody druids.
I love these videos when it’s just you having a really good time on a ride.
Glad you enjoyed! Same here!

Ouch a 3 mile walk would have taken ages!
It was ghosts of Stone Henge builders getting back at you for your comments about the word 'henge'.
😂

Ah I remember thanks for stopping! Yeah at other events they have had mobile mechanics and also boxes full of spares which would have been useful.
@@ChrisHallRides Haha I thought the voice seemed familiar somehow but couldn't place it.... until I saw this!
Australian here. I appreciated your drop bear joke Chris. Even if it fell flat on the others.
Haha thank you!
@@ChrisHallRidesI think I understood it to a be a 🐨
Now that was a day of misfires. Good on every one for sticking together. Take care, Al

Massively so!
"Cycling ... is 90% of aesthetics" 🤣. This goes totally along with my philosophy: "Sport is no matter of talent, but of good looking" ;)
hahahaha

a MASSIVE NAIL!!
Great event. Chose the 220km and on my MTB and it was fun 😂
Would be good fun on a mtb definitely
"the shop you get the money from" So good :D Sad with the mechanicals but seemed to keep the spirits high anyway
I had zero issues on my bike. Everyone else needs to find a new shop haha
Missed two of these now due to injuries, work and other commitments, wish I could have been there
It was a great event!
I don't doubt it, I've been on a few Hotchillee events and they're always great
Who knew UK gravel was so savage?
It’s pretty brutal right!?

Hahaha! Yeah we had enough carnage, drop bears would have made it worse

Incredible positivity, especially by Ash (on camera, anyway)

Great video… anyone know what the hydration vest the single speed girl is sporting?
I think it's a Soloman one
Is the jersey you’re wearing available for purchase in the US? Thank you.
It's one I designed and sold as a pre order. There's now only one left in a mens small: www.zero-lemon.com/shop/kintsugi
@@ChrisHallRides Thank you for the prompt response. I’m an XL 😀. I’ll try to grab one of your next offerings.
Strone circle 🤨
Thank you!
@@ChrisHallRides Seems like nothing about this video was free from mishaps ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
