Honky Tonk Man is the MOST engaging ex-wrestler, even if he was just "average Wayne" he would still command interest. He is just an extremely interesting person.
Lot a people say a lot of things but I remember HTM had a website in the year 2000 where he destroyed kayfabe and talked a lot of shit about people. So in that he is a pioneer with his digital presence
Meltzer would hav u believe honky wasn't a good worker. The 'work' between the ropes is only like 20% of the package. Honky Tonk is a better worker than most if not all of the guys today.
That is two different Kevin Dunn the Transformer Kevin Dunn and the WWE Kevin Dunn. One is loathed by Jim Cornette, that being the WWE one. The other has never been at risk of being hit by a tennis racket.
Appreciate you doing such a professional job with this shoot interview. Had the good fortune of meeting Honkey Tonk Man at Bakersfield Comic Con this past Saturday. True gentlemen and genuinely friendly guy. He had absolutely no issues answering my Friend's and my questions.
Wow the mark doing the interview shows how much research he really does. Probably believes things on social media too. Might as well subscribe to the wrestling observers. We're all laughing at you. Those two Kevin Dunns dont even look alike, how'd you mess that up
I didn't even know what he was talking about, but I knew about Kevin Dunn from wrestling so I looked it up and, yes, there are two of them... The Kevin Dunn of wrestling has only done wrestling-related production work.
How do u mistake Kevin dunn . Have u seen his teeth he looks like a beaver ..he could chew an apple through a chain link fence...hes one of the reasons wrestling is in the state its in
1:06 superstar billy graham, hulk Hogan, ultimate warrior, macho man, undertaker, the Rock, Goldberg, Steve Austin, tripple H, Booker T in my opinion the biggest wrestling superstars in their own League
As a kid we adore face characters that was perfection moral of society standards then as we get older we recognize heels relates to reality of being a human of imperfections.
Think i have the answer. Because those guys were all around from the early days they might be too familar with Vince and wouldn't give him that feeling of authority he wants over people. Ones he doesn't know as well from the past would have a cooler feel towards him and he can be the big intimidating boss a lot more with them. He probably has changed quite a bit since the old days and doesn't want exposed at how he used to behave vs nowadays so keeps them away.
He's sitting here saying that he knew that the Montreal Screw Job was gonna happen and it was a real shoot but I literally just watched him on a different interview, two days ago, that it was all a work???🤔🤦♂️
Bruh, just cuz the yakuza might have manipulated and fixed a couple pride fights (Mark Coleman vs Takada) , doesn’t mean that every fight was fixed and that cro cop and nogueira etc were paper tigers. Chael was speaking with sensationalism. Go watch Paulo Filho snap Sakurais arm and tell me that shits fake.
Dude, all of PRIDE's main fights was fixed. They never tested for steroids, and made a certain Russian look like a monster when he wasn't. And YES, Fedor was no beast. The Russian Mafia and Yakuza were fixing all the fights. Even Rampage said so.
It would be awesome to spend a day with 1 of the lengend wrestlers , drinking or fishing etc I've never even seen a wrestler in real life I'm from new Zealand. i haven't even seen the bush whackers, and when WWF wrestlers came here for events it was kept too much of a secret or it was too far to drive or too expensive for me
i was around to watch honky tonk from way back and he can say all he wants about how his matches were rated........we was of limited talent and that is all there is to it......and he ran the angle of someone not being worthy of holding the belt but holding onto it by any fluke or underhanded means. he simply had no talent and was a zero as a wrestler. people paid to watch him because they wanted to see him lose like he deserved. i'll give him credit for making the most of this angle but he could not wrestle worth a shit. there was nothing special or remarkable that he did in the ring. he had no power moves, no flashy moves, no impressive technical skill moves......he had nothing.
Always loved the heels and Honky Tonk man was great. Hasn't aged a day either
Honky Tonk Man is the MOST engaging ex-wrestler, even if he was just "average Wayne" he would still command interest. He is just an extremely interesting person.
He's cool, cocky, and bad.
It's to Honky's credit that he was able to legitimize what would seem to be one of the more "cartoony" gimmicks and make a legendary career out of it.
This was excellent. Only criticism I have is the lighting. Wonderful interview!
Great shoot! Thanks for posting. He is so southern and tells it how it is! Hilarious.
The greatest intercontinental champion of all time.
Without a doubt
Mr perfect and Rude would give him a go. Macho up there too.
Nice upload, honky tonk man is the GOAT imo.....thanks homie
I remember old NWA rivalry of Honky Tonk Man vs Rick Rude battle of who had the best neck breaker finisher
Lot a people say a lot of things but I remember HTM had a website in the year 2000 where he destroyed kayfabe and talked a lot of shit about people. So in that he is a pioneer with his digital presence
Yikes…. Kevin Dunn from the Transformers is not the same Kevin Dunn from WWE. 😂
Great shoot. I didnt grow up with HTM, but love to listen to his interviews.
This dude seriously thinks Kevin Dunn the actor also works for the WWE? Good research.
😂
Meltzer would hav u believe honky wasn't a good worker. The 'work' between the ropes is only like 20% of the package. Honky Tonk is a better worker than most if not all of the guys today.
HTM is one of the icons imo His feuds with Savage, Roberts and Warrior were gold
Great shoot here - Thank you for sharing it.
The Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all Time !!!
I’m not a perfect human so I definitely relate to heel characters more after growing up
Honky was a funny heel.
His Elvis gimmick was cool.
Great interview , thanks for posting
Great interview...great channel...just one critique...the actor Kevin Dunn...and The wrestling producer of the same name...are two different people
This made me cringe lol good shoot though. Subscribed.
Nah it's the same person. Brother of Warrick Dunn.
That is two different Kevin Dunn the Transformer Kevin Dunn and the WWE Kevin Dunn. One is loathed by Jim Cornette, that being the WWE one. The other has never been at risk of being hit by a tennis racket.

i guess Im kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good place to stream newly released series online ?
I didn't even know what he was talking about, but I knew about Kevin Dunn from wrestling so I looked it up and, yes, there are two of them... The Kevin Dunn of wrestling has only done wrestling-related production work.

Actually HTM gives the interviewer some high praise at the end. And you can tell it's genuine.
@@brunosammartino8287 That's because he got his $1,000 deposit
I wonder how long it took this guy to realize he was talking about the wrong Kevin Dunn 🤣🤣🤣
The Cap Center does NOT seat "22k". At its CAPACITY it allowed 17k, to say nothing for seats that are killed because the space that the ring takes up.
He’s awesome!

Great questions. Keep up the great work.
great stuff
For those that can PERCEIVE they will will BELIEVE for those that can't how no EXPLANATION will do.🤔
Great interview! 👍
I think Al Snow is the only guy who loves Meltzer.
Wrong Kevin Dunn man lol
You are absolutely right in asking why the hell all the ex-WCW backstage guys where running the backstage in WWE?
Think i have the answer. Because those guys were all around from the early days they might be too familar with Vince and wouldn't give him that feeling of authority he wants over people. Ones he doesn't know as well from the past would have a cooler feel towards him and he can be the big intimidating boss a lot more with them. Different Kevin Dunn
Soo correct..5:00
Great interview well done.
Honkeytonk man talked Vince into buying WCW 🤣🤣🤣
I think there are some comments here from alleged “competition” ... the hate is spread too thick.
He's sitting here saying that he knew that the Montreal Screw Job was gonna happen and it was a real shoot but I literally just watched him on a different interview, two days ago, that it was all a work???🤔🤦♂️
Dude. What the hell are you talking about with Kevin Dunn. Are you high. That’s not Kevin Dunn in those movies
They in a 20 motel with an 8 ball.
That was the shoot he did with Justin Credible.

That's nit the same kevin Dunn as who works for WWE completely different guy
Your site doesn't work sir
I don't why this has finally come out 2 weeks ago but this interview was from 2007 or 2008.
wrestlinghdd.net
@@jonstefanik9400 it's been out. And never left.
It's not the same Kevin Dunn
Hang on... I think they are confusing Kevin Dunns. The transformers guy isn't connected with the wwe.
That Kevin Dunn stiuff is bs
He got the just for men hair dye no way he is gray free at his age !
My grandmother was 77 years old before she had a gray hair in her head. My Mom is 87 and only now is getting them.
@@johnwilkerson1535 honky tonk dyes them though. You can see him in other interviews with grey hair.
When was this filmed?
Around 2013
@@WRESTLiNGHDD Ok I figured as much but wanted to double check. Thanks for responding 👍🏻
Starts off like back room carrying couch... I mean, I know honky tonk probably needs money now but this intro conjured a disturbing image.
47:35 did the honky tonk man just fart?
Yes
Haha it sure sounded like a ripper, but I think it was the interviewer's chair creaking.
Hahahh Brock wasn’t hooking Frank Mir sorry. Ground and pound was only route to victory
Frank Mir was no chump?
How much did he get paid for this?
My guess is 500 plus hotel and dinner
@Catcha Predator I doubt that maybe 2 tops
Candid, but not very like able!
