I was spoiled by finding your videos straight away. After watching a few other people who went off camera for the most important parts with little explanation, I realize how talented you are and the quality of your videos. Thank you. ❤️
I'm with everyone else, you are so very clear and calm, you make this look easy. This is a beautiful pendant. I can't wait to try it!
Beautiful design and beautifully demonstrated x
I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you so much for the weaving tutorials. You make it look so easy and explain it so well. I haven't tried it yet but I'm watching lots of videos.
Thank you! Keep watching, and get that wire out!
The best and beautiful videos! Thank you very much!
Thank you!
I love this jewelry, thank you for sharing your knowledge, Phoenix AZ
This piece is so beautiful.
Thank you!
Will definitely give this one a try , as with all your videos great instruction . Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I'd love to see you're finished version!
I finally had time to try this and it turned out fantastic ,now I need to do more. Thanks for the great tutorial.
Excellent! I'm glad it went well. I'd love to know what bead you chose!
I luv it! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Many thanks for the information on bead suppliers and my apologies for my late response.I started straight away to research the bead scene and found it was a really huge area. With your advice I examined the wording of the bead sites carefully and immediately began to notice words like "composite","stained", "un-polished","plastic",even an honest "artificial" here and there.Nonetheless I came across several really good sites and I would have to rate FireMountainGems at or near the very top. This latter site drove home the message about being more specific about my requirements and taught me how to "refine" my search with common-sense terms like cabochon, pendant, glass, pearl, metal, fine or sterling silver, and now I can get what I really want QUICKLY !!So now it is back to the wire- work videos,I have not seen all of your vids yet but I am working on it !
Excellent! Good work on the research! There are some treatments that are common and widely accepted for certain gemstones, but it always depends on what you are after and willing to accept. The most important thing is being vigilant and asking questions. I think you're right, FireMountainGems seems to be highly regarded. For jewellery-making more generally and silver particularly, CooksonGold is my go-to in England. Even if you're looking to buy elsewhere, these sites are useful for price checking and sense-checking what you're looking for.
You make it look so easy 😉 def will give this a whirl many thanks 😍
Thanks Louise!
Oh thats nice, will have to give it a try when I have the time to consintrate .
Thank you! Do you have a bead in mind? I'd love to see your version when its done!
I have so many gemstone beads I proberly won't know until the mood strikes me.
this is soooooo gorgeous............id like to try it...but dont think im good enough 2 do so...........Thank you for sharing....Love it...hugsss
Thank you and you're welcome! I'd encourage you to have a go at it though, just take it step by step and take your time. At worst, you're not happy with the end result and you've lost a bit of wire, but will have learned a lot in the process!
Very pretty
So beautiful ! I would have loved to see some of tge cut scenes so i can understand better how you rotate the pendant and to see better where tou wrap the thin wire
Thank you! I try to show everything, but sometimes it doesn't come out on camera, due to angles, lighting and so on. But I hope it makes enough sense to follow!
Lily-Tree The minute i saw you are making tutoritals i subscribed. Your work is beautiful. I am thankful you are showing tutoritals
Beautiful
Thank you!
Your jewelry is beautiful
Thank you Melanie!
Uauuuuuuu ameiiiiiiiii belíssimo trabalho Lilly
Obrigado Eliana!
Love your tutorials. Where can I find the tool that you used to hold coil to cut jump rings with a saw? I have never seen one. Thanks if you can help and thanks for your great lessons
Thank you! I believe they're called 'coil cutting pliers' - if you search on that term you should be able to find them.
Well done! I am now totally addicted to your tutorials. My only problem is I cannot seem to find a bead supplier with beads as nice as yours. It would be a big help if I knew the right words to type into a search engine. Can you advise.much obliged for any information you can impart and please continue with the videos.
Thank you! What country are you in? I might have some tips for stores you could try. For searches, if you're looking generally, you could try 'semi-precious gemstone beads', or search for a specific gemstone if you have one in mind - for example this one is fossil jasper, so I'd search or 'fossil jasper beads' or 'fossil coral beads' (as it is also referred to by that name. If you want to browse to see what's available, it's worth looking on a jewellery supply site such as firemountaingems.com And if you are interested in gemstones, it's worth doing a bit of research and checking carefully, as some stones are often described a bit misleadingly, or even faked. I hope that helps!
brilliant
Thank you Lynne!
thank you lov
Another gorgeous piece Theresa, love it 👍😀
I have a question : we know that copper has healing properties but will the antiquing with LOS affect it? And what about sealing? With ren. wax or other varnish?
Thanks for your help 😀
Judit
Thank you Judit! I'm not an expert in the medicinal side of things (and it seems to be an understudied area) but as I understand it, trace amounts of the copper are absorbed through the skin - which supplements our dietary copper intake. Logically, I would therefore expect that antiquing wouldn't be a problem, since you are removing the patina on the high spots (which would be the points that come into contact with your skin) but that sealing the piece would create a barrier and interfere with this action. I don't know if the natural patina that occurs over time on an unsealed piece would act as a barrier though.
Lily-Tree Yeah I understand. It makes sense. I'm not sure about the natural patina either but thanks very much for your reply 😀
why do you not show how to end wrap wire you are a great jewellery maker
Do you mean ending the weaving wire? Just snip it and squish it around your base wire with chain or needle nose pliers.
Sorry that the video didn't include all that you wanted it to. I try to show everything, but sometimes it doesn't come out on camera, due to angles, lighting and so on. I'm still learning and hopefully improving the videos little by little! I tend to trim the wire and then squish it in as Nikki says, preferably so the end is facing forward. I then check with my finger that it doesn't feel 'scratchy' so it will be comfortable to wear.
Oops sorry, forgot one thing.I am living in Ireland, in County Wicklow but failed to locate PERMANENT bead shops except one in Grafton Street in Dublin specialising in Swarovski .
jewelvibebabo Same, I'm in Dublin and there are very few permanent places around specialising in semi-precious or precious gemstones (that are not Swarovski) Have you tried out Yellow Brick Road in Dublin?
I get almost all of my supplies online. I'm lucky enough to live near a bead shop, and a gem shop, but the bead shop doesn't sell many gemstone beads - and they're quite expensive - and the gem shop sells mainly finished jewellery, so doesn't have many beads or cabochons. I guess its just one of those niches that online really excels at!
Lily-Tree Yes it's a great niche online market! Understandably renting a shop front is expensive, and then ordering in expensive and good quality gemstones and semi precious beads/cabochons etc. on top of that! Do you have a video where you mention some of the online places you get your supplies, or would you consider doing one? I have been teaching myself wire work and jewellery making over the past year, but I am finding it hard to get supplies in general. I absolutely love your tutorials, you are so skilled and so generous to teach these things in your videos!
jewelvibebabo Yellow Brick Road on the quays, and on the other side of the river Beadz and Bling. You can see each shop from each shop!
I made four ,blue lapis ,watermelon tourmaline, green aventurine ,sodalite 2 copper, 2 silver. what fun.
Oooh, lovely! I'm glad you enjoyed the video - and the making!
