- The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL is now open again. The question everyone has is how is it different after reopening. So we went to give you a first hand look of how it is like. The family had a blast seeing the penguins, beluga whales, dolphins, sharks, and jellyfish. Please note that it is currently reservations only. Strongly recommend to get there at 9:00 a.m. because that will be the least busiest time.

Puri and Sue The penguins are our favorite. During lockdown, they actually let the penguins have the run of the aquarium and it went viral. Baby Rosalie is just growing too fast. So crazy to me we have almost have a video for each week she has been alive. Thanks for watching.

It was only the 2nd day open and we were worried it was going to be packed. But since we got the early 9:00 reservation spot and them limiting capacity to 25%, it made it so much better and easy to social distance. Baby Rosalie now talks a mile a minute and she says the darnest things. It's great that Addison and Rosalie has been friends after all these years. This was our first indoor activity. Generally we try to stay outdoors for any events we go to. Still haven't gone indoor to a restaurant yet. Have a great week.

I'm a huge fan of aquariums, nice to see a bit of Chicago at the beginning. Nice to see the safety measures in the aquarium, and the hand sanitizer station. Its good to have the aquarium to yourselves.

LOL. The Piranhas didn't have rap battles - they just ate each other. The winner of them all was Biggie. He was so big because he ate his friends. Chicago is a great place. When things get back to normal, you'll have to let us know when you guys are here. Felt a little bit of normalcy by being able to go to the Aquarium.

This was our first indoor event and we were so glad it wasn't so busy. I felt pretty safe, especially since there wasn't too many people there. But I think most of our trips will consist of outside trips for the summer.

Haha Rosalie cam is the best! Gokce and I definitely request more going forward! :D I'd be hesitant to touch the sting rays as well, that's more of a Gokce thing. Lol one of them ate the other... I could never convince my parents to get me a piranha, was stuck with goldfish and catfish as a kid... o well!
Gokce is just a dare devil. Especially that swing she went on a couple videos ago. After I graduated, I bought 5 piranhas for less than $5 each at the pet store. Not knowing they would get big so fast and eat each other. Biggie did not have any friends. Rosalie loves to pretend vlogging so we let her get a little taste.

The cook part is how empty the aquarium is... pretty much all to yourself! The stingrays are so cool..and slimy! We have a science museum in Miami where you can touch the rays, so cool! You will have to try it next time! Lol. Great vlog guys! See you soon!!

We LOVE Shedd aquarium! It looks like they are taking safety seriously, which is great to see. We haven't been since Jonah was 2 and are way overdue to go back. We love the beluga whales! We spent most of our time with the dolphins and penguins last time though. Love watching you explore!

Wow! That really is empty! It would be pretty nice have the aquarium to yourself. That's what we've been finding as we've been starting to go places again...we've pretty much just gone to outdoors places, but they've nearly all been completely empty. I like the "one dolphin apart" sign. Nice theming! Awww! So fun to have a "twin" friend. My Cyrus has a little friend who was born three weeks apart, and I helped take care of him while his parents were at work, so the two little boys were always together. I was often asked if they were twins...which was funny because Cyrus is Mexican/Caucasian and his buddy is Chinese.
Seven In All I see you don’t have enough kids at your house that you take some in 😂😂😂. We are pretty much outdoors also. The main trick I have noticed is if you get there right when it opens, there are barely any crowds. We had a blast but it will be awhile till our next indoor event. Thanks for watching.

Hi Calvin!!! I know how much you love animals. That is a great idea going during those free admission days. Can't believe you were able to catch both in one day. I'm lucky enough that I get in free 2 months of the year because of my work.
Santos Chronicles I’ve also heard Brookfield Zoo reopened and to make up for the indoor exhibits closed, they have Dinos Everywhere: animatronic dinosaurs & pterosaurs scattered throughout the zoo! I hope my dad & I can get tickets for the zoo; I have a feeling the dinos will be quite popular, especially with the kids that getting tickets could be a little challenging! So my folks suggested that we wait a few weeks go to Brookfield/Lincoln Park Zoo when there’s not as many people

Carl this was amazing. Firstly l am amazed on how manny species of otters there are. Secondly, how did you avoid any reflection from the glass. Lovely aquarium and a wonderful family day out. Hope you are all well. We have just gone into another 6 week lockdown. Ugh 😫
Oh no, 6 weeks. I had no idea. I don't think U.S. is that far behind unfortunately. IL, NY, and NJ were hit really hard. But now all the other states have really gone up really high especially FL. Alana is truly an otter fanatic and she knew all that info from her head. I spent a lot of time moving the angle of the camera to get those shots. For those that had the reflection I cut out. And the others where you see the red light from the GoPro, I cropped the frame so it is not there. Glad you noticed the hard work that it takes to get that. That is why I love creator comments. We had a blast and good luck on your 6 week of lockdown.

Lovely family outing again!!!! I cannot believe how much Addison looked like her friend when they were little. Amazing!! So great to see friendships lasting so long. I was reading about the penguins that came out when the people weren't there any longer. In Edinburgh Zoo, the penguin march is a daily event. Glad to see you are keeping safe and well x
At this aquarium, this was the place with the Penguins running around inside when they were closed. It went viral. So glad we go to say hi to them. Addison and Alana are 2 peas in a pod. When we use to live by them, Alana's Mom use to take care of Addison. They went every where together. That penguin march sounds amazing. Have a great week Karen!!!

I don’t know. I’m trying to avoid places like this. We are looking for outdoor areas with room instead of all the requirements. We will have to deal with some when we go to Niagara. I’m glad you guys took it all in stride and enjoyed yourself. Keep seeing the sunny side - no one there. No crowds. I’ve done stingray feeding. It’s cool. Those girls do look so alike. Piranhas? Out of all the places we have gone to, this was the first indoor event we have gone to. But going forward we will most likely stick with outdoor events where it is easier to stay away from people. We really lucked out how empty it was during the opening weekend. So I like your strategy. After watching the 70's movie - I had to get some Piranhas!!!! We finally went to Sea World for the first time as a family last year and was pleasantly surprised how much fun we all had. Have a great weekend Alice and Larry - and make sure Larry stops more:)

Love this aquarium. We try to go every year. Another great one is the Georgia Aquarium with the Whale Sharks.
