I struggled through doing this after advanced standard and after a ridiculous amount of practice got such a tiny yield that I kind of gave up. Now I understand how to put the skill components I have practiced together to get a viable result. Your video has inspired me to get back in the game. Thank you.
@@mattiasnorberg Someone told me that terpentine gets into the water when you heat evergreens, so you got to skim off any floating oil. Do you worry about this?
@mastitis norberg Those pressure seals with the roots and split wood is great instead of the very brittle stitched and glued method. Great work fella. Very impressive. Thanx
@@mattiasnorberg i thought that spreading the melt resin like you did at 17:46 was enough but if i understand correctly your message, after that you seal/heat again so the dried resin melts again and gets like merged with the bark so it sticks really strong Do you think you could have put the container with the water directly on the fire to boil? I guess the container lifetime would last less long but would that work? i think i saw it's possible
Jo det blir det. Därför är det bra att ha ett till kärl med vatten som man snabbt doppar stemarna i, för att bli av med askan, innan man lägger dem i det andra kärlet. Detta sätt har även används av flera grupper av indianer.
Great job on the basket and the rolling boil with the hot rocks. Subscribed.

Very nice. Great video
Thanks a lot😊

@@dangehret I think if you use it a couple of times first you will leach out the substances.
Wow, that is real bushcraft. I didn't know you can melt resin and use like a sealant.
Really interesting video!

Please don't take this the wrong way as I say this only out of concern. NEVER CUT TOWARDS YOURSELF!
hello, what is 18:15 for?
Is it to make the sap sticks better? without this operation the container would have leak?
I'm sealing holes in the bark with resin holding a piece of ember with two sticks to melt the resin.

@@raphaelh42 Yes thats correct you get a better sealing.
I have tried that but it doesn’t work well with spruce bark.
@@raphaelh42 Thank you very much😊

Blir det inte aska i vattnet, går de att dricka?
