Happiest girl in the world or something. Just wow. Very pleasant spirit also, from where I sit, way up here in Illinois. One of y'all young dudes better keep her happy if she accepts you. Amen
Reminds me of the 1990s when I converted a 66 passenger Bluebird school bus into a poor man's RV. Some of the best times we ever had from Mexico Beach to St. Augustine to Hunting Island to Hendersonville, NC Good luck y'all!
Absolutely Awesome Videos ! We are Lovin every minute of it! Y'all stay cool and Safe! Sailor and I are gonna come over y'all's way in future maybe bring some zebco's and a few boxes of worms and drown our cares and worms! Hahaha!
By the time you frame up bunks, get 4 people in that thing and all your gear, top heavy isn't gonna be an issue. As long as most of the weight is at the bottom, its gonna be fine. I would worry less about out riggers than I would about just making sure you can put anything heavy at the floor.
cksidekick 1977 "As long as most of the weight is at the bottom, it's gonna be fine." Well gee, I'm glad you unlocked the mystery of keeping something from being top heavy. 🤦♂️
Dennis Morrill little late to do that without ripping the top off again. Hell, he’s already cruising down the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway on his maiden voyage now. He ain’t got time to waste, Hannah said there’s cats out there waiting to get noodled, lol 😂
As long as the pontoons with frame and deck weigh more that the upper cabin et al your ok . Probably an 65% bottom to a 35% cabin et al. It probably would have been beneficial to weigh the frame with motor, hardware, etc before starting the cabin in order to know the ratios. Looks great guys. I'm sure it will give you lots of fun and enjoyment.
God bless from deep south Texas. Nothing to do but repair, improve and preventative maintenance more then ever with all this time on our hands 'ppreciate yall!
Well it turned out super nice so far sans the bells and whistles which I hope you will be adding shortly. Jeff, you are skilled, smart and have the yes we can attitude. With Hannah's help maybe should think about creating an instagram account for you. This can lead to other possibilities by doing interiors of camper vans and motor homes. Anyways I wish you all the best and we should all pray for your upcoming success.
Stability...the coast guard checks out charter boats for stability with water barrels to determine how many people they can take out. After you splash you might give them a call to find out how many barrels to use and where to place them. Not for them to come out, because you're not a charter boat, but to do a personal test for piece of mind. I think they usually use 6 55 gallon drums of water, just to find out how far over the boat will list on either side. Maybe there is a formula based on how wide & long the boat is, to how many barrels to use. Also with pontoon boats use 2 anchors one on each to outer pontoon, out on a 40° angle to reduce swinging on the hook. I spent 20yrs on the water and learned little rid bits like that.
The V shaped wind breaker on the front... don’t make it part of the boat, make it part of the trailer. Just build up the front of the trailer up there and you could weld it with steel and just put a couple of panels on there to shoot the airflow out to the sides and angle it up over the top. Then you don’t have to modify anything on the boat or add weight to it or have some thing you have to take on and off every single time you just make it part of the trailer and it protects the boat when you’re driving down the road and then you just dump the boat in the water and that part stays on the trailer.
Love the barron crue . Keep up with the good work and entertainment you provide with your simple day to day tasks and some good spirits. God bless you. Take care .
Wow That will be a nice great outdoors kitchen to fry catfish in, Jeff. (All you need now is a frying pan. Be sure to bolt a fire extinguisher to the wall. Safety first.)
Hey Pops, you can think outside the circle too sometimes, on that back door worried about opening into the bunk beds, actually seems a bit narrow for regular door too, you can whip up a flap door, hinges on top, and door is cut in mid section with hinges, so you can fold door in half and flip it up outside and hang above with a hook.
G'Day Jeff from Aussie. I love what you have done so far mate and you are all going to have a mess of fun. Just an idea about the front to stop any wind pressure is to maybe have some canvas wrapped around the two front posts and tied down to the sides of the cabin. That way after you get where you need to be you can drop the canvas down to maybe a guard rail height around the front porch. A 12v dc pump connected to a tap for a shower and washing up also run some pipes to the front for rinsing off when your filleting the cats. It would work like in a caravan (RV). Anyway mate you and your lovely daughter have a great time and stay safe.
Awesome project. Love the way you 2 are together. I would love to be able to come down for a few days and chase some catfish and such. God bless and we appreciate you all
Keep looking for longer steering cables from a junk boat. Hundreds of boat yards on the Chesapeake with abandoned boats to get cable from. Gotta be the same there. Then could could put a flybridge on it. Marsh grass camo for paint. Great job!!
I thought this was going to be an ongoing 6 month project -- not 2 days! Someone ask this man to find a cure for the coronavirus...because I think he can do it.

If you are going to inswing your front door you might want to add a couple 2x4 cleats that you can slide into wall mounted brackets when you are running down the highway. Looks great and definitely you guys are thinking through things successfully on the fly!!!
Hannah I was just watching a video with Nina Rynd she's on Hook Line & Chill she said she wants to go noodleing I told her to get ahold of you and your daddy cuz your experts. She is in Kentucky.
Love it! Don't worry about top heavy they make them thing all the time marinas are littered with them . That gonna be a nice lugury out on the water to spend some time on best of both worlds boating and camping
Hi Jeff! Idea for the "cow catcher". Could hinge it on outside edge both sides, the piano hinge 1/2 up both sides, when at lake fold down half way both sides then hinge back against outside 'side's. That way you wouldn't have to take off every time you launch.
Lookin' good Jeff!! Good ol' Boiled Linseed Oil. A coat/day for a week, a coat a week for a month, a coat a month for a year, and then one coat annually there after. I missed (originally) that it'll mostly just be hanging out in the water at one place. I was of the understanding you'd be hauling it here/there, running all around in it. How you did the front overhang makes perfect sense with your intended use. Could'a gone old school sailing, and instead of bunks, hammocks. No better sleeping than one of those. For "oh no, gotta go NOW" moments, a composting toilet in the changing room would be perfect. Two buckets, one to store full of sawdust, the other with a seat mounted on it. Have a trash liner in it, toss some sawdust in the bag, seal it up and put a fresh liner in it... fresh and ready for the next time. No smell lingering that way. Anyhow, looks like a great camp on the water.
Jeff hearing his adult daughter calling him a beast and a work horse must be an amazing feeling. She definitely is a proud daughter.
Wow ! You built the house part of the boat pretty fast ! It is looking good and can't wait to see more of the build ! Thanks !
