Beautiful home! I love it! Yea, they usually take the kitchen too- it’s a thing. But, luckily they left it intact as you can stay there and take care of your kids. Hopefully, you get hotter water soon. You are living my goal/ dream ❤ Have fun doing it all! ❤
Thank you so much!! Yes, the kitchen is usually not left which is so interesting isn't it!? There was only a sink left because it wasn't something that could be moved easily. This is definitely a dream worth reaching for even though it hasn't been easy. It has been beautiful though! I'm honestly not sure when we will be able to afford the next steps but someday they will happen. I wish I had tons of money so I could do it all not :) I pinned a post I did at the top of the comments on websites to look for Italian homes. Take a look if you'd like. I spend many happy hours dreaming there!
Could you add French doors to the upstairs room leading onto the terrace? That would be a lovely summer family room. You could even have a small summer kitchen where you want to put your laundry.
Thank you so much for sharing with us! I’m excited to watch the transition as you settle into your new home! I hope to relocate to Italy in a few years. ❤
Hi! It was fun to see your channel in my feed today. Like you, I purchased a home in Italy around the same time, although in Calabria, in a beach town. I absolutely love traveling and exploring different areas in Italy and Umbria is also one of my favorites I’m finishing a remodel now and vacationing a few months out of the year for the time being. Really enjoyed seeing your beautiful little Borgo, family, and what a sweet home. Piacere!
Ciao🥰 Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. I have yet to get to Calabria but it is on my list! Congrats on getting to the end of the remodel...that's a big deal in Italy! I'm hoping that we can get ours started this summer. I feel like I've already been waiting a lifetime so it's hard to have patients 😂
I am looking forward to a similar change in my life this coming year. As I begin to downsize, sell, gift, and donate do you have any suggestions as to what to bring from the US?
This home is actually going to be just a vacation home (for now). If we could figure out a way to make money there I think we would move. Where do you plan to move to? If we moved I think I would just bring items that were special to me. There is really everything you need in Italy :)
May I ask roughly how much you paid? I dream of living in Umbria, but getting a flat in the city center and convenient to a train station since it sounds very difficult to pass the test to get a drivers license in Italy.
Yes, it isn't easy to get a license. You definitely need to be fluent to do it because it's all in Italian. In the end it cost us probably around 115-120 thousand dollars. The updates will probably be 60 thousand and then of course we have to furnish the place😂 this could be a very long journey!!

I really love the classic doors in your home. Not sure if I caught it but is it an apartment or free standing house? Lots of light! Really like it.
