And... “She was betrayed and cheated on by most of them. Coming from a difficult childhood, she longs for affection and attention. As would you. Because of her childhood and what she has gone through, she is very independent and probably not the easiest person to live with. She has a kick-ass attitude on stage but what I saw in several docus about her, once she opens up she is a very lovely person and even a bit shy. When you come home and you find your husband in bed with another one... on several occasions. I would kick his ass too. And about the kids… maybe she’s very furtile and doesn’t believe in contraceptives. I don’t know. Everybody has sex, you can’t forbid her not to.”
Hmm. She's a good singer and she had a couple of great singles. And she did write and record this song before she had those millions of kids and became somebody's wife. So at the time of this performance, she was walking the talk. Today, however, she has no right to pretend that the person in this song is her. It's just not true anymore.

Pinkpop stands for Pinksteren pop and was held at the Pentecost weekend till 2008, and from then on a few weeks after Pentecost. This year 2020 will be the first year, the festival cannot be held due to ... Covid-19 (Anniversary year.. so that seriously sux) Some of the best moments in (live) music history happened right there at that festival. Please just stick with reacting to original studio recordings 😁 This is the worst kind of way to get introduced to anyones music, really. Especially when there's a lot of production going on. The quality of these live sets are really in the hands of the mixers and technicians. If a singer has a bad day (or isn't as good as the original) that really feels like a bummer. We're in luck most Dutch artists can actually sing, but even looking at major international artists like Britney, Madonna or Mariah... You really don't want to be exposed to their live sets first, lol. That being said, I've been following Anouk since day 1 (crap, that's about 23 years ago!). She's one of the most diverse singers from the Netherlands, always able to figure out new styles. It's one of those artists where you can't just give 2 or 3 recommendations, because there's so many good stuff! Please just stick with reacting to original studio recordings 😁 This is the worst kind of way to get introduced to anyones music, really. Especially when there's a lot of production going on. The quality of these live sets are really in the hands of the mixers and technicians. If a singer has a bad day (or isn't as good as the original) that really feels like a bummer.
We're in luck most Dutch artists can actually sing, but even looking at major international artists like Britney, Madonna or Mariah... You really don't want to be exposed to their live sets first, lol.
That being said, I've been following Anouk since day 1 (crap, that's about 23 years ago!). She's one of the most diverse singers from the Netherlands, always able to figure out new styles. It's one of those artists where you can't just give 2 or 3 recommendations, because there's so many good stuff!
