- Finally after 3 months of searching I found her, she is a 2009 Toyota Hiace!
I am in no way experienced in building a van and this is just a fun project that I am taking on with my dad. Once it is complete I will be living in her full-time

So interesting!!! I was drooling over your previous van (because of the size and windows, loved the set up) and now you have a van similar to mine in size. I have a VW multi van with all the seats in the back out. I got the two front seats converted to swivel (I got it done by Vanessa in Sydney who arranged for a road safety certificate, this is required by law). My Best Buy was the Dometic CFF45 portable fridge (it came with a cover) it’s just the right size for the essentials and best of all doesn’t take up too much room in the van. I had an extra 80 amp/hr battery installed with inverter, I only really use the 12v plugs with this (esp for the fridge) because it’s energy efficient. My next buy will be a roof top box for firewood, spare clothes, tools, gas for cooking (I just don’t like having it in the van, I’m sure it’s fine but don’t really trust it not to leak). My favourite thing is the fairy lights, it’s just enough light to change by at night and looks so pretty. So looking forward to your build and wishing you all the best.

That's great progress you lucky to have a great help with this build and it will look awsome what are you using on the roof? Tracey and I used earthwool batts and lined with the pine panelling. I would also recommend carbuilders sound deadening sheets they are a bit on the pricey side but well worth it for noise reduction
Awesome thanks for that. We did just use the same insulation that we had left over from the floor. But I’m going for use the earth wool on the sides. 😊

Hey! What did you end up using for the side door step edging for the plywood?? Have just done my floor and can't find anything that bends to fit it 😞

Yes definitely getting the whole solar setup. Deciding if I should do it myself or get a professional to do that part for me
