no when you write a message on a mirror after showering it stays there for a couple more times that the mirror fogs. so when the mirror fogged up it showed a message that a girl left for him showing that he’s cheating on her.
This song literally gives me chills and reminds me of how easy it is to fall back into depression. Like she was so happy and sitting in the light and then when she finds out she’s literally fighting with herself as she’s getting pulled into the darkness and she finally is able to fall out of the chair before she’s completely pulled in but like she’s still right on the edge. It’s just a beautiful and relatable but also sad and scary metaphor for depression. And you can feel the emotion in her voice. I love that her friend gave her a hug at the end cuz I felt like I needed one after just listening to it! Imagine going through it. Love you, Gabbie!! ❤️

This song has so many powerful messages but what gets me every single time is the delivery of the line “don’t hurt my butterflies”. As a victim of rejection and abandonment from the ones you loved most, the pain of knowing that the once happy knots in my stomach now feel like cramps and sweet times are now traumatic memories is a feeling I can never fully get out in therapy. This song is therapy for me and all of us who have been through this treatment. I love you so much gabbie I saw you perform this at vidcon 2019 and I hope there’s more powerful music like this coming for us in the future ❤

Ok this is what I would have done.
I would want a background set kind alike the last scene of la la land. And have her perform every event of the story. For the guy I would only show his hands. The set and background is all like hand drawn and there can be words in it and it’s constantly changes as the story progresses.
And the we see the iconic mirror with the I love you from the cover.
And the everything turns grayer and the blue animated in 2d butterflies turns spiky and black.
And then she is all alone and she can act out her emotions.

This is still by far my favorite song of Gabbie's. Something about it literally takes me back to the day I found out my high school sweet heart was cheating on me. I couldn't tell you what it is about this song but it is like I am there again, trying to sneak away with his phone while he showered, reading those messages in the car... oh man. A memory I had blocked out for so long is somehow crystal clear. I love this phenomenon, I doubt it will ever happen again in my lifetime. So I wanted to share.
