These guys are all so fantastic and talented. I had the extreme pleasure of seeing them in, of all places, hagerstown Maryland, at the dinky Cancun Cantina. The club did a horrible job promoting and it was such a tiny show but they rocked the house and several of the members took time to just engage me in cool conversation like everyday guys. Much love for this crew.
I was on a beatch in France when I see this guitarist and we smoked the calumet of peace before the show, it was so nice but it was years ago !! 🤣🤪💥👍🔞🛑⛔️
+Lev Andronov (leoner) I think Living Colour are the original, unless you know of some one who sang this song before Living Colour and LC is a band from the 80's.
This is the absolute --- a band of this calibre showing so much respect to another amazing artist --- its like va hanlen covering bowie awesome post! TY
Great cover by Living Colour. Vernon Ried is already a better guitar player than Jack White will ever be. Vernon put more notes in that solo than White did in that entire album that song "Seven Nation Army" was in. Thanks for posting
These bros are kicking. The WS track was always in need of a full blown bass player. Doug really blows it in around 4.00, earshells on. Or better not, enjoy.. All three are great musicians, able to make technology work without being excessive, and keeping a focus on the end result. Carry on!
I have a chance to talk whith vernon, and we have smoke a joint, all speaking of the rose d'or, one festival in juan les pins, on a french riviera !!!👍👍💣💥
+Jason Schulman interesting unique player for sure! personally i love his rock and funk ryhtym styles and occasional straight rock leads but... and i feel kind of bad saying this, i don't really get his fast jazz fusion type solos they are great but i can't really process the speed and weird notes, i love that this makes him unique though? amazing player and band though, huge fan since day one
I saw these guys open for the Rolling Stones in Clemson S.C. years ago (1987 maybe???) LC blew the doors slap off of RS. I mean it was not even close. They had half the stage of RS but took ALL the energy! Good stuff man. You can dance and rock out to these guys. Their sense of rhythm and melody is really cool when they are jamming.
^ I'm actually not an idiot. I also don't have anger issues like you do. Perhaps if you spoke better English or had better grammar, you would've made sense the first time and I wouldn't have had to ask you what you were talking about. *Grow up.*
Very interesting. Vernon is a bad ass fitting they should do this song. It rocks and they mm, have always rocked. One of the finest bands of the 90s. Period.
Thats a peavey cyberbass. I have one. It is a midi controller. You can play regular bass through it and also trigger a keyboard, a synth rack unit, or a sampler. It can trigger any sampled sound through midi.
I have found only one instance when they tried to cover a song and it failed tragically. Look up their cover of AC/DC 's Back in Black, absolute screeching !!!!
The most under appreciated american rock band of all time.
Agreed. How is it that Guns 'N Roses are in the Rock in Roll Hall of Fame and not Living Colour? Pretty sure Living Colour has a better body of work.
+Jimmy Hendrix. Whoa... settle down.
Certainly one of them.
True
Not by me.
Vernon can shred that guitar like no other!!!
Truly miss the fourth instrument...Corey Glover's voice...
I don't really see anybody making comments about the drummer, most under appreciated member of the most under appreciated band
"Almost forgot that shit completely." This. This is why I love this band.
Saw them at the Tower theater outside of Philly in 90. 30+ years later still one of the best shows I have ever seen.

All these years and these men still know what is relevant. Living Colour IS the voice.
This shit is completely awesome! Best cover ever. Almost forgot it.
+Lev Andronov (leoner) I think Living Colour are the original, unless you know of some one who sang this song before Living Colour and LC is a band from the 80's.
The White Stripes would be proud of Living Colour!
Vernon has a fucking raspy and addictive voice. he's a genius guitarist and he's also a sincere singer.
yes. the bassist just caress the strings. marvelous.
Vernon is one of the top 10 guitarist of all time.
meh
This band is amazing. Even a cover by Living Colour can be fantastic.
Masters of their instruments.
What's your favorite color, baby? Love that they're still making music
I love this band!!!!
This is the absolute --- a band of this calibre showing so much respect to another amazing artist --- its like va hanlen covering bowie

Holy shit Calhoun's kit sounds perfect. He's pretty damn good at playing it too.
Unbelievable job...love how they put their own twists and turns in it! Love it by The White Stripes too...but they did it justice!!!
I love this. I like the white strips and I love living color. this could not be better.
This original version should have 82 millions views just a the cover from The White Stripes. This is a fucking awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW....mind very blown away right now!...
Awesome cover version and Peavey Cyber Bass playing!
I've heard a number of covers of this song, but Living Colour really makes it as good as the original, if not better.
Great cover by Living Colour. Vernon Ried is already a better guitar player than Jack White will ever be. Vernon put more notes in that solo than White did in that entire album that song "Seven Nation Army" was in. Thanks for posting
This version of seven nation army rocks!
These guys deserve way more than that crowd man
These bros are kicking. The WS track was always in need of a full blown bass player. Doug really blows it in around 4.00, earshells on. Or better not, enjoy..
All three are great musicians, able to make technology work without being excessive, and keeping a focus on the end result.
Carry on!
great live performance of a kick ass rock and roll band having fun on stage... Not only is Vernon Reid one of the greats, but he can sing too..
Vernon Reid is a God. That is all.
+Ross Trent i tried to tell em brother but they all be worshipping invisible sky gods an shit
is that V singing too???
Correction Vernon is God. Clapton who?
The whole band is great and Reid is a true visionary. Such a humble dude too, who doesn't take himself too seriously.
I have a chance to talk whith vernon, and we have smoke a joint, all speaking of the rose d'or, one festival in juan les pins, on a french riviera !!!👍👍💣💥
Vernon Reid is one of the best... EVER!
jezter49 your are so right man this guy is a genius and so underrated
Is there any guitarist alive with more raw technique than Vernon Reid? Probably not.
I know that was a couple years ago, but never too late to have something shown to you, Tosin Abasi puts up a good argument to your statement XD
Put Neil Zaza in the mix.
You Said it
But where is the Singer ?
I saw these guys open for the Rolling Stones in Clemson S.C. years ago (1987 maybe???)
LC blew the doors slap off of RS. I mean it was not even close. They had half the stage of RS but took ALL the energy! Good stuff man. You can dance and rock out to these guys. Their sense of rhythm and melody is really cool when they are jamming.
bass line in this song is incredible
This never gets old!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘😎
Fantastico il basso !
i saw them last year over here in brazil and they really put on a awesome show.
You took the words, right out of my mouth. That was a surprize to Me. Fusionsch, thanxx for this upload.

Well color me impressed....White Stripes just got shaded in!
Very!!! good gitarist.Great.Big respect
felt my bell bottoms flagging against the drive of the 15-inch quad cabinet mesa boogie bass amp!
Not saying anything that hasn't already been said, but the only thing this really needed was Corey Glover on vocals.
i actually like this one better than the original.
When you cover a song it sounds better than the original
AMAZING! 🎶
I thought this song was good by the White Stripes... By Living Colour it's way better!
I love Living Colour's covers.
^ What are you talking about?
^ I'm actually not an idiot. I also don't have anger issues like you do. Perhaps if you spoke better English or had better grammar, you would've made sense the first time and I wouldn't have had to ask you what you were talking about. *Grow up.*
^ Says the person who reacted with a vulgar insult just because someone asked for clarification.
yessssss
These guys are fucking amazing.
Obrigado.
- So dope, but wish it culda been Corey on vocals. Vernon's voice is....unique to say the least. luv the prog stuff too.
Wow Vernon HAS a voice. He's been writing for the Village Voice, and it's so cool now he's singing! And sounding great
mashing it to pieces yet at the same time making it better like only they can... Living Colour.
They were hot $#1T
That Bass Line go hard!
didn't even know vernon sung good job love this band
never mind the white stripes these guys own the damn song.
This...is why I love the internet
Whaouh the seven nation army it's a great song of the White strips but I like more this version of living coloris !! 👍👅🥵❤️🤪
@mrjackwhite49 and that is why the movie "It might get loud" was released- Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack- see it :)
Very interesting. Vernon is a bad ass fitting they should do this song. It rocks and they mm, have always rocked. One of the finest bands of the 90s. Period.
yes
Jack White and Living Colour on the same bill would be hella awesome.
Hamer Guitars! Good choice!
He is such a CLEAN player, fretwork so tight!
Incrível!
If some of you would like to hear a more techno like version look up Veto Feat. Lucy Love - 7 Nation Army
Thats a peavey cyberbass. I have one. It is a midi controller. You can play regular bass through it and also trigger a keyboard, a synth rack unit, or a sampler. It can trigger any sampled sound through midi.
wow..
this is an awesome cover!
great cover !
The badass version!
Wow!
best guitar ever
Actual Virtuoso's, all of them...
OOOUUU!
Indeed he is/was (he's a fire fighter now) . It's Wimbish laying down the groove in this clip.
Way way better than the original
I have found only one instance when they tried to cover a song and it failed tragically. Look up their cover of AC/DC 's Back in Black, absolute screeching !!!!
At the end of the song Doug plays the bassline of "Earth's Creation" by Stevie Wonder on the "Secret Life Of Plants" LP (DDA!)
That was jammin'!!
Wouah!
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Damn, i never heard Vernon sing before! He's good!
