I was there in the early '90's and took an architectural tour - they brought us up into the spire to see the oldest clock (or one of the oldest) and the bells. They also explain how the vaulting was built and the lead roof was put on. Due to the weight of the spire the stone was bowing inward in the sanctuary and they had to brace it several hundred years ago. A really stunning cathedral!
