    I like the 70.2 led, it is easy to use for upgrading most lights. Nice video ! Even if these parts are not available, you guys get the understanding of modding, go for it !!

      Thanks! The links for the items changed in the meantime, also there is a factory xhp70.2 convoy S11 for quiet some time already. Also, after this I slashed the XHP70.2 and added a better gasket, it turned out to be a much better beam that way.

      Note that if you use a 26650 you will need to add a magnet, around 4mm thick on the + pole of the battery to make it fit without moving inside, or simply put a 21700 inside, the rubber adaptors are included with the host.

      @@BlackCat-xt6hj Wow 4mm that's some slop. I have a few magnets around will check the size thanks. I ended up ordering two S11's The host & parts with the AR lens and I also got the Osram KW Culpm1.tg 8amp version. One will be a thrower the other a flood. I have had a TNC P60 26650 tube light for years a shelf queen. I just like these tube shape lights will be good to have two cheap users.

      @@BlackCat-xt6hj I dont know what is different about the one I built, but I have no battery movement at all in mine without a magnet on the positive side of the battery. I used the same parts shown here as far as I can tell. The only difference is I used an aspheric lens flipped dome side towards the emitter, but it has a thin lip around the circumference so it's not much if any thicker than the stock lens. (doing this will make it possible to burn a hole straight through dark colored paper and other things up close to the lens, so be cautious if you do what I did, and like to carry your light in a front pocket. You don't want it to get powered on in there with it pointed at important bits that have no business getting a sun tan lol)

      @@t3ch5upp0rt4 I think your host might be with a different spring. I've seen newer hosts arrive with longer spring so no battery rattle... but I will try what you mentioned just in case.

    The thud s11 makes when its put down gives you and idea of how hefty it is. 😀

      Oh yes, it's very tool-ish and tough. It feels like an axe in the hand. Amazing heat dissipation also I must say.

    Hello sir...Whats happen if i just change the driver xhp 70.2 without change the led..i means keep use led xhp 50.2..will the heat go down?...

    • @BlackCat-xt6hj
      @BlackCat-xt6hj  3 роки тому

      Both XHP70.2 and XHP50.2 work on 6/12V so there should not be a problem, but I don't believe you will get any performance increase since the standard driver in the S11 with XHP50.2 is doing a great job.

    Where can I find Items for this Upgrade? Links are not working anymore 😔 Simon private message?

    • @BlackCat-xt6hj
      @BlackCat-xt6hj  2 роки тому +1

      Simon's store is temporarily closed due to new COVID outbreak in Hong Kong. All items are now available in his store but I don't know when is it coming back online. Also, there is now an option to buy an S11 with XHP70.2 so no need to bother.
      A good upgrade is to de-dome the XHP70.2 (I've done it, much much better light), practically same output except it is more focused and has a prettier hotspot. You will need to find a LED gasket that goes flat with the reflector however... not sure where to find that, I took mine out of a dead Imalent DM70.

    Does it work as long as Convoy M3 with xhp70.2? Same brightness as M3, more heating?

    • @BlackCat-xt6hj
      @BlackCat-xt6hj  3 роки тому +3

      It is a tiny bit less bright than the M3, most probably because of the tailswitch, a spring bypass or a better spring would help. Also, it's much much more floodier than the M3 because of the smaller reflector. And about heating, it's amazing how well any S11 holds the maximum output (large fat body I guess), you can run it on max for more than 3 minutes if your battery is good.

    • @aa.delite
      @aa.delite 3 роки тому

       @Black Cat Thank you! :) You may find that M3 (XHP70.2) provide huge more worktime on the same brightness (30% M3 mode ~= 70% S11) and same battery than S11 (XHP50.2). So if I buy S11 70.2, will it work much longer than S11 50.2 if the same brightness set and cooling well?

    • @BlackCat-xt6hj
      @BlackCat-xt6hj  3 роки тому +1

      @@aa.delite It's a very complicated question Andrei and it requires many technical data. Every LED has a "sweet spot" for efficiency and it highly depends on the current you push in it. You will find all the specs of all Cree LEDs on cree website, there is a PDF for each. In general, XHP50.2 is more efficient for single cell flashlights because it can work on 3V while XHP70.2 requires at least 6V, however, it all depends on the usage, if you need 2000 lumen output for example, the XHP70.2 is more efficient than the XHP50.2, but if you use the light on 300 lumen than XHP50.2 is more efficient than XHP70.2, and just for the record, on that output XPL-HD is more efficient then both.

    • @aa.delite
      @aa.delite 3 роки тому

       @Black Cat thank you for explanation 😃 I wanna use 2000 lumen output. S11 XHP50.2 can't work long on 2000 lumen, it works about 30 minutes from 1x26650 cell. M3 XHP70.2 works for 2 hours 30 minutes on 2000 lumen from 1x26650 cell. I want M3 in compact S11 body for long non-stop 2000 lumen output mode😀It may be too hot though. M3 is cool enough on 2000 lumens. I use it riding on EUC (electric unicycle, 25-45kmh, 15-28mph) and it's not even warm.

    • @BlackCat-xt6hj
      @BlackCat-xt6hj  3 роки тому +1

      @@aa.delite nope. Sorry, not possible. For 2000lm you need around 19W when everything taken into account. That is around 5,2A from na 3.6V cell. Meaning you will get exactly 1 hour from a 5200mAh cell ON PAPER, but in reality, even less. My guess is 45-50 minutes TOPS if your cell is top quality.

    Нахрена доставать отражатель и класть на стол? На него хренова туча пыли осядет, пока ты пилюлю собирать будешь. Лучше в самом конце распаковать и установить.
