You should check out the channel EVG WARS (electric vs gas wars). They just started in NH not too far from you. They recently built a garage and are planning some cool builds, like LS & tesla swapping some old golfs that they are gonna race.
6:30am Monday in Australia, made a pour over and I’m sitting outside watching the sun coming up and watching a new tedward video, nice start to the week
IIRC, The G-Wagen was originally a military vehicle. Dress it up however you like, but old G-Wagens will always have that utilitarian box truck vibe. It's just more fun to say "Bond villain transport."
I bought my 2018 g63 in 2017. It is the last of the old school G wagens. It is my daily and filled w mud and hair from my dog (GSD) of course. With all the love going to the new ones. I can tell you that I will NEVER give up my truck. There is something about it. I love it so…
The snow really makes winter feel like winter. I always get annoyed when people who grew up here complain about the snow and the cold weather. Like go live in FL with all the other northerners who gave up!
E brake and g wagon is proper nomenclature don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. And I would love to see anyone daily drive an exotic in New England truly hilarious 😂
About a daily driver in New England I agree, I like to think my Alfa is okay in the snowy weather but it’s not, and admittedly the last few snowstorms when I’ve been home I’ve been driving my moms F-Pace, it has the JLR snow mode and off-road gimmicks so it works way better, and just ground clearance.
It's funny you mention about the headlights - my first car was a base model 2001 Buick Century and it only had auto, parking lights, and headlights, but no "off". I used to think it was weird back then, but look at Buick being ahead of their time, and looking out for the old people
Only a few towns over. If you ever wanted to do a 2022 C8.R, I'm your guy. Would love to see a video or something of the POV camera set up you are running. Edit: Just read the description. Thanks for the info
I think some car videogames back in the day did called the handbrake “E-brake”as well. I don’t know if the current videogames include a button for the E-brake/handbrake though. Also, as I have said before and IMO, blinker and directionals are valid. Because they are blinking and they also make others aware of the direction your are going.
Is it just me or is it surprising to anyone else that the Blind Spot Indicator didn't turn on when he was on the left by the Highway barrier. Amazing to see it can tell the difference between a Car and wall
Lol, about the headlights thing. When I visited Texas this year, I rented a Mazda CX-5, and whoever drove it last had left the lights in the "off" position, even though it has an "auto" position as well. I picked up the car from a brightly lit parking garage. It has DRLs that are pretty bright, and I ended up driving for nearly an hour at night with only the DRLs on. Embarrassing, but they're seriously bright enough to light up the road ahead of you at night. I knew something was off but I couldn't really figure it out because I was so used to my Mercedes not having this problem. But I finally figured it out while driving in a rural area with no light whatsoever, because I kept trying to turn on the high beams and they would not turn on. Then I was like wait, the actual headlights aren't even on are they...
Hey Tedward, I don't mean to assume anything but I couldn't help but notice that you didn't sound as "jovial"/happy as you normally do in your other videos. Hope all is well!
@@TedwardDrives Glad to hear that your passion for cars and making video's is helping you through whatever you're going through man, you're a good dude!
@@TedwardDrives at 50k those hot engines need virtually all vacuum lines, valve cover gaskets, oil pan done. My turbo seals have started to leak as well. As a result to the valve cover leak ive also replaced crank sensors. Suspension needs a refresh they have a pesky issue with death wobble so I've done a steering damper as well. Car is otherwise purely stock. Garaged and a California car. It's a Mercedes after all but compared to my e92 m3 with the na engine it's definitely worse in terms of plastic parts.
Triple lane merge whammies! @9:15: Why brake? There's space in front of that vehicle merging left. You've got the momentum, so go for it! @9:23: Again, why brake? There's a straight shot into an empty lane without braking. @9:30: Third vehicle braking to merge with space to merge. Good grief! @9:38: Oh look! Plenty of space to merge right without braking. Why squeeze when there's plenty of room up front? Did these drivers all forgot their rightmost pedal, aka accelerator?
7:28 not having an OFF position sounds awful. Off and auto shouldn’t be the same thing. Now you have a car that you can’t have on and keep the headlights on, you don’t always want headlights on at night, like a drive-in movie theater for example
There are parking lights for that type of sceario. You can have lights off even while driving if you desire, I just dont recommend doing that at night.
I'm not sure if this temperature above middle is just a Mercedes thing, because my parents' W212 E220 CDI also has its ideal temperature slightly above the middle position. I was also very irritated the first time I saw this, because it's just so unconventional in my opinion.
E brake is a North American term....thus if the service brakes goes ....use the parking brakes to stop in an emergency situation .....Despite being Canadian, i call it Parking brakes and have never call it emergency brakes as it is what it is a parking brakes (historically applied after parking ....in a manual vehicle.) Plus, if one ever apply them on the highway.... and the back wheels decides to lock up, the car will spin. I could be the only oddball that call it what it is ....a parking brake. And i do use it ....even in an automatic vehicle. Another oddball thing to do in North America. I have been in a vehicle where the parking pall gave away ....the parking brakes saved the vehicle from rolling away 😏. Having the whole weight of a vehicle rely on a pin in the transmission while in park is not a good idea honestly. 🤔 Thats just my personal opinion.
Hope you enjoyed a peek into the Bond Group Garage! Stay warm out there
You too!

I wonder if you're going to drive an older G55. They're supercharged, the best sounding G Wagens, and I heard they're a lot more special than 63s
I would personally love to see a G65, the V12 seems like such an insane engine for this car

Hey how’s maintenance on it? Ever have serious issues?
Thinking of getting one
my grandpa had a 2002 g500 just all around beautiful car, so many good memories when i was a child around 2004

Yes! It’s nice to see the snow blanket the entire landscape
As I write this, it’s Sunday 11pm here in Scotland. Perfect viewing for unwinding before a busy week.
I'm definitely going to be more aware in the winter when I drive nowadays. Good tip!

G wagons are always monsters 🥵
have you ever driven the FJ40 or the Bj40 (b side diesel motor)?
got into a car accident right in front of this place a few months ago haha knew it seemed familiar
love the video for the car you drive can try to do the older 6.2 cls63 or a 2013 s197 mustang?

You should live stream an entire road trip.
And I'm actually in Massachusetts on business, hoping to see Tedward on the road and say hi!
E-Brake is emergency brake and that term predates electronic parking brakes.
We say e brake here in pa. Maybe an east coast ish thing?
6:00 What does the yellow warning triangle in the driver's side mirror indicate, was somebody passing by outside of visual range ?
Yup pretty standard on all cars now but it’s just to let you know someone is next to you

How capable are these in the snow? Thinking about getting one once i win the lottery

Looks like a matte finish. Would be interesting to see how they clean that off.
