My aubergines I think have succumbed to red spider mite sadly and seem to have stopped growing. I have 3 plants and have had 4 aubergines of 2 of them and nothing off the other one, So they are going to the compost heap today. Can't believe how quickly your seeds have germinated, just shows how much warmer the poly tunnel is for growing. Love your little gardening companion, what a cutie 😍
13.07min 😂😂 ganan Hannah... "to be honest" I've never heard it used so much with you a TCS (hope all is well with him) is this a new NE thing "to be honest" I'm a Northumbrian and I've never heard it been used so often "to be honest" 😂😂
Just discovered your channel - thank you 🙏 I grow my toms outside and this year have had to pick a lot of green and orange/green. But they ripen a treat wrapped in paper in a box.
I watched this while on a treadmill and it definitely helped the time pass! Thank you for sharing. Your tomatoes are gorgeous and I’ll have to remember your tip about topping to aid the ripening process when I do tomatoes next year! Your wax bean harvest looked great as well!
Just flowers for me on my Aubergines this year and I'm in toastie Oxfordshire 😁 so super jealous of you managing to actually grow some in chilly Newcastle, great result. Also, so nice to see Eric again so soon after his first UA-cam appearance in your last video, he is so adorable ❤
Do you grow your aubergine 🍆 in the ground? Im growing most in pots and keep them off yhe ground in raised shelves. I find that otherwise 🐌 snails like to eat them and then that makes room for woodlice to borrow into them.
Wow what an amazing tomato harvest!! And yes to keep down on the pest I will harvest my tomato after they start to blush. Keep up the fantastic work on your plot.
I tend to pic my tomatoes a bit early, as well. You can control the ripening inside and protect them from bugs/disease/excess water/etc...Here in the Southern US, we have "Fried Green Tomatoes" where we pick them fully green, slice them about 1/2" thick, then bread and fry the slices. Plus, if they're inside within arms reach you'll be more likely to use them. Cheers from FL, USA.
Hi Hannah, you can use a pencil to write on your labels, it never wears off. I've grown onions from seed for the first time this season as I got fed up of the sets bolting. So, i have had fantastic results and will definitely be growing from Seed again on Boxing Day (as recommended by Steve from Greenside Up) he was a wonderful gardener ❤. I grew white sturon & red Karmen. Love your videos, what fantastic tomato varieties you have and your gorgeous dog too. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I want to grow some unusual toms (not for cooking) next season, like some mottled colours but concerned they’ll have no taste. What would you recommend? Aubergine been awful this year 😢 Not allotment related but what breed is your dog, he’s a beaut 😊 Do the crystal lemon taste any good? I’ve had Socrates this year & been amazing. I’m investing in a new tunnel at the end of the year but undecided on width. Def 15ft long but unsure on 8 or 10 wide
Lovely tomatoes! ❤ I topped my tomatoes this week too, i live in Sweden and we hade frost 1 september last year so my tomatoes might not have so much more time to ripen.
Fuck, ive never heard of that , is it a German variety of Swiss chard? 😁 Impressive harvest in poly tunnel, ive been looking at getting one for my plot but not sure where best to get one from. Was even thinking of building my own if a lot cheaper like what Jesse at plot 37 has done.
Another great video Hannah 😊 love what you are doing keep it up. Started my own veg patch and channel this year and have draw so much inspiration from you, Tony and jb x
Hi Hannah I’m a newbie to your channel and also to the allotment as I got my first one this spring. I live in Yorkshire so I probably have similar weather to you and I’m fascinated with what you can actually grow in our climate. I’m toying with the idea of buying a poly tunnel for next years growing could I ask what size yours is and did you have to assemble it yourself? By the way I always use Artline Garden Marker for my plastic labels and it never washes off, I use nail varnish remover to get mine clean for the following season. Deb
Hi Hannah i have never heard of if you grow onions from seed you dont get white rot im going say i would take that with a pinch of salt im not saying 100% not true but white rot is in the soil so i fail to see how grown from seed makes any difference and the reason i think this is i have had big show onions growing from seed get white rot ok they was big onions not small but im sure that doesn't make a difference but i just like to say be careful if you do wish to try this for yourself incase you end up losing your crop of onions 🧅 i can tell you a way to grow them if you do have white rot that i have done with great success message back if like to know but this message is long enough thanks Craig

The toms look amazing and nice to have a bit time doing little but we allotment holders never sit too long x
Very true!

That's true about the onions 😊
😊
I grew alisa graig, Paris silverskin and red onions from seed and about 20% of them got white rot
Thanks for watching
@@Gingergrows1 no problem, you are doing a great job 👍😃
Hi Hannah, chat is the size of your polytunnel?.
It’s 20 x 14 ft 😊
Lovely tomatoes! ❤ I topped my tomatoes this week too, i live in Sweden and we hade frost 1 september last year so my tomatoes might not have so much more time to ripen.

Thanks for watching. The poly tunnel is a 20 x 14 ft northern poly tunnels one. There was a few of us needed to put it up 😊
Use banana skins to ripen tomatoes
Good tip 😊
What 😂
Many thxs
any idea how to rid garden soil of blight?
