Used to snorkel the inlet back 40 years ago during the day. You couldn't pay me to do it at night. The place was very eerie in daylight. Regardless I still probably have half a tackle box full of lures and the like from those adventures.
Thank you for uploading this footage. As an IRI fisherman, it has always been a fascination imagining what is down there. I have thought about doing this, but after seeing 7ft duskies and hooking a shark I backed out. Watch the whole thing mesmerized. This has really opened my eyes.
I have been over the bridge and fishing at the inlet so many times in my life. Always wondered what it looked like down there! Thanks for filming this.
That's pretty cool, you could probably make a lot of money on lead weights and jigs, you must have been diving at slack tide because that current moves along pretty good through there.
Do to back surgery I did not dive last summer but the year before I pulled out over 400 pounds of lead. I melt them down and make fish, turtles, and seahorses out of them and give them away to the fishermen.
@@melissaamericafirst3098 I do not at this time. I gave everything I had away last fall. I should have some later in the summer. I need to get down and get more lead so I can make more.
How do you muster up the courage to dive in the inlet this at night? I once freedove in the Ocean City inlet during the day, but it was just so unsettling to walk down the rocks and go into that unfamiliar water. I couldn't go deeper than about 15 feet because I was too timid. I did see a little flounder hanging out in the rocks but I didn't shoot it. I'd explore so many unconventional underwater places if I could just get over my fear.
I have grandparents in Bethany and go free diving for catch release hermit crabs and snail along with shell collecting off the beaches in Bethany down there, but I can never imagine true diving in the night like you have. Great work
Whatever floats your boat i guess. I like too see what the hell i"m swimming into. So dark water mixed with at night sure as hell isn't my idea of "FUN"...(g)
I’m a kayak fisherman...... on top is awesome watching bait and birds but at night underwater looks so good and the world of marine animals don’t seem to care much.... so awesome. Thanks!
Cool video! Thx!

@@IndianRiverDiver thank you for your environmental service. I know I contributed to that poundage!
@@IndianRiverDiver do you have any I would buy one of each for my dad !!! He would just love that! He is in Melbourne. I’ll be down there in April!

Awesome video. I love fishing there at night for the same reasons you like diving there at night! Cheers
I live in Bethany. Thanks for filming this. You’re insane ! So brave
I used to fish this inlet as a kid! Are you ever worried that swimming around with bleeding fish strapped to you will attract sharks?
I have had some run in with sharks! Don't happen often but....
Fascinating video! I've never seen the inlet from that perspective!
Cool point of view, thanks!

Fantastic video! Now I know why I always lost my old man's fishing rigs there when I was kid haha!
Thank you for that adventure!
Damn you did that sheepshead dirty, he just wanted to say hi 😂.

why >?????
The fascinating thing about your question is that you don't know why, and if you were told, it wouldn't help.
How is it fighting that current? When I’ve been there it seems really strong.
Current is on the surface
What month was this? June or July? Water temperature down there?
